Move on the Byrnes
The only 'bottleneck' at Leinster is the continuing refusal by the coaches to accept the evidence that Ross & Harry Byrne are not quite good enough, imo. If any of the #10 jersey candidates were to go to Connacht to get more playing time, it should be Harry Byrne. Ciaran Frawley is at risk of becoming another Joey Carberry story - it's hard to understand why Leo & Jacques (& the IRFU have some input too imo) will not give him that chance to compete for the jersey.
Leinster need a starting outhalf. The two Byrnes are nowhere near top level. Frawley needs more at 10 and has the potential to be a Heineken winner in that position
Ross Byrne nearly this. Ross Byrne almost that. Sorry lads, at Leinster, one either wins or one is forgotten.
Johnny set the bar high, and rightly so. Close but no cigar just doesn’t cut it.
Leinster fans want to see Frawley and Prendergast vying for 10, not the Byrne brothers.
Almost isn’t good enough James, need a Lions standard 10 to win Champions Cups, he will never be a starting Lions 10 or indeed a back up 10. Keep circling the D4 9:33 wagons lads, Frawley didn’t go to the right school.
Harry Byrne has reached a plateau and Prendergast already shows a greater range of abilitty
Ross Byrne is not the fastest out-half in the world.
It’s too late for any of the 4 out halves to go to Ulster now!
Neither of the Byrnes are up to it. Good club players yes, but top internationals definitely not. He is a long way behind Crowley at Ireland level. So why is this even a conversation. Frawley /Pendergas need time behind this pack not the Byrnes. Leinster have world class players everywhere except at 10!
Ross byrne offers no threat and as a result defences have more time and in turn our attack is more blunt, Frawley has been denied oppurtunities for far to long
Why aren't Charlie Tector and Jack Murphy being mentioned as part of this conversation? Leinster actually have 6 lads who could play out half...surely there is no way they can keep them all happy. As as Munster fan I'd be happy to have either of those two come down to Limerick instead of Billy Burns. For Leinster, double down on Prendergast...that's what they would do in France!
Leinster lost to La Rochelle x2 when their defence couldn’t hold out - against Toulouse it was their attack that couldn’t score - whilst it mightn’t seem fair to finger one back but at the end of the day your #10 is pivotal in converting pressure & possession into points.
Would love to see Frawley at Ulster and Prendergast at Connaught for a season
I'd love to see frawley playing outhalf for leinster.
@@burncarlow😂
Let's agree that the 2 Byrnes are good players who are leinster people true and true.
Leo is a true and true Leinster coach.
If all three agreed to move to France, that would end the incessant conversations, and Leinster can move forward.
Connacht have 3rd rate coaches and no Champions Cup how would that attract any of them.
Harry Byrne to Connacht. Jack Murphy is already the first one to go to Ulster. Four Leinster out halves for next season should be Frawley, Prendergast, Ross Byrne and Tector in that order.
Line kicking - terrible (way too much distance to maul)
Ross Byrne is fine but that won't do against the best Ntamack Mo unga Pollard win games.
News to me that any fans thinking province above country
Well leinster would rather 2 of their 10s sit on the bench or never play rather than give them experience somewhere else. I get that they're leinster men and leinster players but if they want to get mins and Ireland opportunities then 1 or 2 need to go on loan for a year or two.
Ross Byrne complaining about the distance he has been awarded for a sub par kick is an actual meme now. Not good enough for the top level
Prendergast
James T is a brilliant pundit, can admit he is 100% biased to Leinster but can also see it from an Ireland or provincial pov.
The elephant in the room is Pendergast is 2 stone too light to be the player everyone thinks he is
He does look a bit lightweight now - he's only 20. He can add bulk & muscle over the next few years. That seems to be the model for the modern day Outhalf - unless you have sprinters speed and the ability to step off either foot (very scarce supply of this model).
@@fawltyoldboybasil.2178 100% agree , but can Leinster afford to wait 2 years for him to bulk up. I'm sure the strength and conditioning at Leinster are aware of this too. So hopefully be comes into next season with a big pre season of bulking behind him
Plus he walks crooked. Like I don't want to be mean about it but cmon.
@@billbobby461 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@paddy91317 im being dead serious. No malicious intent but this guy is touted to be one of the stars of Irish sport in one of its most prized positions and he's physiologically impaired in some way. What are we doing here?
Isn’t there a kiwi coming to Leinster around October/November?
Barrett - plays at center, occasional full-back.
People , my wife included are too hard on Ross Byrne , rugby is a 15 man game , but for a puff of wind we wouldn’t be having this conversation.
Mr Charley , TG for predictive texting and his team made a dogs dinner of the match!
Neither Byrne brother has it.
completely disrespectful of the other provinces players
Ross fine player James is correct he should be no 1 at Linster. He was the heir aparent for Ireland after kicking a penalty against Australia 24 months ago
Sport is always a case of 'what have you done lately'!
Its good to hold a position despite al the evidence. RB is a perfectly good outhalf for URC and pool stages but he will never get any higher than that. We've been there before with Madigan etc and I really fail to understand why Leo is doubling down on RB rather than doing his job and picking players based on form. On Form Prendergast and Frawley are the players to invest in
