I played a lot of Historic combo goblins back when Muxus was new. The most powerful part of that deck was secretly being a good aggro deck that just happened to have a T3-T4 combo kill. This deck feels the same. Excellent vid 🎉
For about 12:00, submerge requires your opponent (you in this case) to control a forest for it to be a free cast, so not something to worry about there. Hard to remember that when the primary use case is to kill the uncountable and indestructible marit lage token, a card usually played in decks with forests.
Jim davis taught me alot about gobo decks. this deck runs really well because it has two "combo' wins built into the main plan with those combos just being the main plan as well. sticker goblin feels like the second prospector allowing you to really utilize just how much your goblins will draw it almost feels like elves but better because your pieces do the drawing without any additional help from cards like glimpse
Battlecry Goblin is one of these cards that I always get surprised when I see it's an uncommon. It does so much so efficiently. I guess it could get away with the uncommon rarity in draft due to not too much goblin synergy in the set, but it still ended up being one of the best cards of that format.
Battlecry goblin was like the mythic uncommon of the format and probably top 5 card in the set in limited. It's so innocuous but it's legit just a legacy powerlevel card somehow

I also believe you lucksacked this league, drawing skirk prospector in all of your opening hands :) I've been playing this in paper since november, and would recommend playing goblin lackeys and a slightly reduced number of fast mana. Your land count is also a bit high. Playing mind goblin turn one is not necessary. Turn two is just fine, and with fewer mana sources, I actually think the deck becomes more stable. It will topdeck better if your key cards get dealt with and the game drags out. I've been tuning this for almost a year now. I love seeing battlecry goblin do stuff because I looked at that card and was immediately like, "Ohh damn, this card is the nuts, and will be like 25c." I love it when really budget cards can pull a ton of weight, and goblins is the posterchild archetype for that.

@@kyleucf you pick your 3 random sticker cards at the beginning of the game but you get to pick the stickers that go on your goblin, so you know exactly how many times you will get 6, 5, or 4 mana and can control when each happens.
@@kyleucf you bring a sticker deck of at least 10 stickers, and at the start of each game you randomly select 3 of them and those will be accissible to use durign the game. there'a an optimal list of 10 stickers that no matter which group of 3 you get garuntees at least 1 sticker makes at least 4 mana.
Seems like Goblin Warchief could be one of the goblins to cut/sideboard out. The double R at 3 mana hurts since you can't turn 2 it off of a sol land, and its effect is really on relevant on Muxus turns if you manage to rip it.
@12:00 you could have played around removal by playing the battlefield goblin and saving 1 more gobbo for mana giving everything +1+0 and haste and still got the kill.
Is it stompy? Between this and historic it's more of a really stupid combo deck. You just reach 6 mana, play Muxus and spew unbelievable value onto the field. And if you jump through all the combo-hate hoops to disable Muxus then it's a weak tribal deck that will beat you before you can stop the combo THEN pivot into beating a fair beatdown.
Round 1 game 2, opponent could have bolted the sticker goblin to stop the chain since the ability requires the card exist when it resolved? Brewers advantage.

Hey Mr. University, I think it'd be cool if you could speed up an uneventful or "unsatisfying" match to like 10x speed instead of just not including it, maybe talking over it or explaining why you didnt want to include it. I've seen other mtg youtubers do that for their uneventful matches and it goes pretty well.
It's definitely cool to get the name sticker goblin into MTGO, but it's unfortunate that you can't see what you're going to get from it the way that you can in paper. This is seen fairly clearly just the first game. In paper, you would know if one of your 3 available sticker sheets had Guacamole. If it did, you could have went for turn 1 Muxis deterministically. Having it be random means the deck has to go a little bit more slower than it otherwise might, even if the randomness does mean that you can high roll two 6 mana goblins in a single game. A higher ceiling, but at the cost of randomness.

You need the ten sticker sheets with highest numbers of distinct wowels printed out and sleeved. The way I do it is I show my opponent the sticker sheets before we draw opening hands, for them to confirm the sheets are all unique. I then shuffle them and fan them open, and the opponent picks three. This has to be repeated for games two and three. It is reasonably random and quick. I've also put tiny bits of paper with numbers on them inside the sleeves, to keep track of which name stickers have been spent. There have been few questions and no complaints.

You think you could play 1-2 krenko mobb boss in the main, its close to infinite mana with skirk prospector and can get haste off warcheif if u got it out. Id take out 2 war marshal for it.
I play with blanck goblin in duel commander (is commander but 1v1 with a unique banlist) and i think this version is even more powerfull that in paper, buy it has a very important problem in paper you and your opponent always know how much mana it will add for the stickers you reveal, in here you can't know if it will add 6 and let you cast muxxuz or leave you with four and you have no to cast with that, this can affecr mulligans, if you know it will add 6 and you have it wity muxxuz in your starting hans that is an instant keep if it would add 4 maybe not, here you have to risk it, that say i know is a weird mechanic and this kinda does the job but is sad that paper magic and online magic aren't the same with this card

Yes. This is the biggest decision point for the development of the deck, once it is online. I play lackeys and think it is the right way to go, but lackey is only a secondary route to victory in this deck. Prospector is the preferred g1 play under most circumstances. The decision whether to play lackey or not bears a lot of consequences for the rest of the list. Prospector wants small bodies to sac, and without 4 other 1-drops, it makes sense to play a high number of war marshalls. It also becomes necessary to play a high land count, to be less reliant on untapping with prospector. Lackey also makes warchief better. If you can drop warchief off lackey in the turn 2 attack, the second mainphase can become quite explosive.

Unfinity felt like such a betrayal. Not only did they use it to print sticker nonsense that no one wanted and everyone hated into eternal formats but they also burned the rigger/contraption mechanic that people had been waiting for since 2006.

Mind Goblin into BCG + activation is a mean burst of damage that can't be stopped by a bolt. G1R2 could have been a win on the spot if Phil went for BCG over warchief. T1 skirk into Mind Goblin 4 mana t2 is also 10 damage if you BCG + pump.
@@joek3654 Another important part is that it's *real* good with skirk. You can sac creature that are blocked to fuel more pump and gain more reach. It's basically the cornerstone of any aggro line in pioneer for goblin.
That round 3 delver player deserved to lose as soon as they had ouphe in their deck game 2. Unless they had literally nothing better to have in their deck, they are just stupid.
Spirit guide does not require you to commit two cards and get blown out by ouphe, like chrome mox. But if your point is to reduce the number of fast mana, I agree. I started out on 4 of each when first testing this in paper, and now play 3 chrome mox, 2 spirit guide. I actually think spirit guide should be the better card online though: When you don´t know how much mana you will get off mind goblin, smoothing your mana with spirit guide is easier than with chrome mox, simply because you don´t need to feed it another card.
So excited to see Mind Goblin get some action!

It's cool to see goblins shift from the controlly classic legacy goblins to more of a stompy build. Very neat.

I think hes match one opponent didnt play or do anything(maybe connection issues?), which is reasonable to skip the match.

I don't think War Marshal got the best showing this league. I never "lived the dream" of it being 3 mana with Skirk. That said, Krenko is legit.

Prospector wants small bodies to sac, and without 4 other 1-drops, it makes sense to play a high number of war marshalls. It also becomes necessary to play a high land count, to be less reliant on untapping with prospector. Lackey also makes warchief better. If you can drop warchief off lackey in the turn 2 attack, the second mainphase can become quite explosive.

sticker decks are DOA in paper, absolute nightmare, needs a judge rules explanation every round, no one is going to take the time to learn a gimic unset mechanic

You need the ten sticker sheets with highest numbers of distinct wowels printed out and sleeved. The way I do it is I show my opponent the sticker sheets before we draw opening hands, for them to confirm the sheets are all unique. I then shuffle them and fan them open, and the opponent picks three. This has to be repeated for games two and three. It is reasonably random and quick. I've also put tiny bits of paper with numbers on them inside the sleeves, to keep track of which name stickers have been spent. There have been few questions and no complaints.

Unfinity felt like such a betrayal. Not only did they use it to print sticker nonsense that no one wanted and everyone hated into eternal formats but they also burned the rigger/contraption mechanic that people had been waiting for since 2006.

i don’t really understand why battle cry goblin is here over a more immediate haste enabler like goblin chieftain. can someone more in the know help me out here?

Mind Goblin into BCG + activation is a mean burst of damage that can't be stopped by a bolt.
G1R2 could have been a win on the spot if Phil went for BCG over warchief.
T1 skirk into Mind Goblin 4 mana t2 is also 10 damage if you BCG + pump.
The pumping ability is MUCH better than it looks. I underestimated it early on.

@@joek3654 Another important part is that it's *real* good with skirk. You can sac creature that are blocked to fuel more pump and gain more reach.
It's basically the cornerstone of any aggro line in pioneer for goblin.
That round 3 delver player deserved to lose as soon as they had ouphe in their deck game 2. Unless they had literally nothing better to have in their deck, they are just stupid.

Spirit guide is bad no need for it
Spirit guide does not require you to commit two cards and get blown out by ouphe, like chrome mox. But if your point is to reduce the number of fast mana, I agree. I started out on 4 of each when first testing this in paper, and now play 3 chrome mox, 2 spirit guide. I actually think spirit guide should be the better card online though: When you don´t know how much mana you will get off mind goblin, smoothing your mana with spirit guide is easier than with chrome mox, simply because you don´t need to feed it another card.
