Helpful in so much as it answered my question about which way to twist the impeller when inserting the video says it doesn't matter as it will correctly locate when the engine is started. I did notice that the impeller was inserted the wrong way around as the thread on the impeller should face outwards as this is where the puller would fit if being used.
Great video. Do you have another video on how to replace the seal on the back, that you mentioned in the video. I have a small drip post install. thanks.
After how much time or hours is it best practice to rebuild the pump with new bearings, o ring, thrust washer, shaft seal ? Kit. I had mine off boat for another issue and assumed I would merely replace the impeller. Upon inspection I could see rust on the bearing surface and they were rough to turn. Definitely would not have inspected this if I had not had the pump off. Boat is a 08 with 310 hours on the clock. I’m thinking it’s best to rebuild before a bad pump leaves you stranded.
Straight up. To the point. Emphasis on the important points. Well done!
Thanks Vince, my order is inbound.
Great tutorial as usual - Thanks Vince!
Thanks man, saved me a lot of guess work!
