That is one of the best looking cemeteries I've seen. Terry was a very big part of the band Chicago. That was the end of Chicago as far as I was concerned. Terry f$%ked up. I was surprised when this happened. For someone who supposedly knew guns, I could never understand why he did something so ignorant. He should have known the difference between a revolver and a semi-automatic. Maybe he did and this just backs up the saying, don't "play with guns" and never point one at someone else or yourself, unless you intend to kill that person or yourself. His death still haunts me to this day, with me "alternating" between sadness, (for all the music still inside of him that would never come to be!) and ANGER, as his death was so EASILY avoidable! In addition to playing guitar myself, firearms have also been my hobby since I was 10 years of age (currently pushing 70), and my training (and COMMON SENSE!!) taught me to ALWAYS "Rack that Slide 3 Times even if you're "sure" the gun is "unloaded"!!", when it comes to an autoloading pistol, which is what Terry inadvertently killed himself with. After FIRST removing the magazine, I (or anyone for that matter!) can in literally less than 2 seconds "Rack that Slide THREE TIMES!", and had Terry heeded that one simple, quick, and easy safety precaution, he'd probably still be with us today.. You got a lot of exercise doing this one!! Chicago is a great band, you've probably heard their music on and off all of your life you just didn't take notice of who the band was. Saturday In The Park is probably their most memorable song to me just because it takes me back to the 70's. Peter Cetera (sp?) really put them back on the charts in the 80's and with music videos they gained a whole new audience. I've never seen them in concert but my mother has, more than once. Thank you for helping me relive the memory, it's bittersweet but wow, what a talented guy, such a loss. ❤
Terry is a really great musician. I live in the US and my parents came here from Sicily. My parents did not teach us children the Sicilian language but they would always play Italian music in the house. I never understood my parents music and thought it was just horrible noise that annoyed me. When I meet my now husband, one day we had to borrow his father’s truck. On the seat of the truck was a Chicago cassette tape. In shock I turned to my now husband and said “your parents like Chicago”? My husband was a little freaked out by my exclamation and just looked at me and said yes of course it’s an older band. (This was the late 80’s). I couldn’t wrap my head around the idea that a parent could listen to music that I liked too it was just beyond my comprehension. My husbands parents had great taste in music, and I could actually understand the lyrics.
Love Chicago…also my hometown. I have family at this cemetery. Beautiful grounds. Well done as usual Harmin. Always informative & respectful. Be well & stay safe.♥️
Many may not know this but Jimi Hendrix heard the Band & ASKED if They would like to open for him. Of course Chicago said Yeah.. Jimi HIMSELF stated "Kath has unique style that I did".. Jimi was INTO the Brass thing in Rock Bands & even thought about heading in that direction.. If Hendrix gives you Kudos you KNOW you're on to something..

Thank you, Eric. Reminds me of Jon-Erik Hexum. He was a rising star in the early 80s. Playfully put a prop gun on the set to his head, thinking it only had blanks, and he blew his head off. Tragic.

Thanks Harmon, one of the absolute worst tragic moments in music history. I will always be in awe of his 1970 Tanglewood solo on 25 or 6 to 4. It was as if he was one with that guitar. Rock and Roll lost one of the best there ever was or will be.
@@InfamousCrimeLocations and now they are gone. Why they hang on like they do I will never know. When they first started , they were in their 20's. I suppose they do it for the money. Now he is done- retired. he knew when to quit. He is 77 years old now

How horrible. I have you beat on the number of years listening to Chicago. 50 years here!
❤️ another awesome show harmin 👍✌️ ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Chicago... My favorite. ...💕
I have been listening to the music for 40 years and love the band so much it was such a tragic accident, thank you for covering this.
They are a phenomenal band. Sad that most of the original band is gone now
Many may not know this but Jimi Hendrix heard the Band & ASKED if They would like to open for him. Of course Chicago said Yeah.. Jimi HIMSELF stated "Kath has unique style that I did".. Jimi was INTO the Brass thing in Rock Bands & even thought about heading in that direction.. If Hendrix gives you Kudos you KNOW you're on to something..
Kaths tangle wood performance was one of the best.
Thanks for doing this one. Chicago is my very favorite male band and was the first concert I ever saw back oh man like almost 40 years ago. I was 8 years old when I saw them in SLC, UT. Great job Herman! I am tickled that you love them too!
Chicago has always had great music. Thanks for remembering Terry.
As a guitar player, I am in awe of his talent, but even if he couldn't play a lick, what a voice!!! He would have been a star as a vocalist.
I loved Chicago’s music, very unique! Thanks for a great video
Chicago was good.. Thanks Harmin, outstanding work and coverage.
They were big in the 70s. One of my brothers high school yearbooks has the lyrics to Old Days as a backdrop, really nice. Glad you covered this! 🎶🎶🎶
I was at one of their concerts in Chi Town in the 80's. Very fond memories of the band High Fiving and Shaking our hands at the end of the concert.
Thanks for the upload
If you haven't seen Terry's tangle wood 1970 performance and you like guitar.. You are truly missing out. Absolutely amazing performance.
I'm so proud of you Harmin for getting 70k!! Continue on and BE CAREFUL ALWAYS!
Thanks for sharing Harmin & may he rest in peace❤️
Hi Harmin 👋
What a beautiful day for a stroll in that peaceful and scenic cemetery!
I love Chicago ♥️
Thanks. For. This. I. Can. Honestly. Say. You're. A. Gentleman. Bless. You. Always. AMEN. From. Los. Angeles. CA
Thank you, Eric. Reminds me of Jon-Erik Hexum. He was a rising star in the early 80s. Playfully put a prop gun on the set to his head, thinking it only had blanks, and he blew his head off. Tragic.
Great guitar player and a great vocalist as well. Chicago’s music has stood the test of time. We can’t say that about music now.
Thanks for another great one Harmin!!
I was 15 when he died and I remember being so devastated! I LOVE Chicago and although they still did well after his death, it was difficult to not compare. I grew up with guns being a huge part of life. So the way he died really shook me to the core! Thanks for sharing this 💕
I love all your videos. Excellent work!
Loved Chicago in the 70's and still do today. Hard to pick favourites, but 25 or 6 to 4 and Wishing you were Here would be my top 2. Those horns! The arrangements, man take me back...
Love Chicago. I have been listening for years. Thanks for another great video, Harmin. Rest in Peace, Terry. Take care of yourself, Harmin.
This has happened to a lot of people because of plain stupidity!!! Always treat a gun as if it is LOADED!!!!
Terry had a Death wish
Soo sad. A valuable lesson you gave out as
always. Carelessness is not a virtue. Love Chicago, Adore Zep😉.
“Stronger Every Day” my favorite Chicago song.
Great one but too many to list.loved the horns!
My top 5:
1-Beginnings
2-Does anybody really know what time it is?
3-Make me smile
4-Colour my world
5-25 or 6 to 4
I can listen to that song every day
I have loved the group Chicago ever since I was teenager in the early 70s. The last time I saw them was at a winery in the summertime about 15 years ago…Thank you Harmin
Thanks Harmon, one of the absolute worst tragic moments in music history. I will always be in awe of his 1970 Tanglewood solo on 25 or 6 to 4. It was as if he was one with that guitar. Rock and Roll lost one of the best there ever was or will be.
Hey gregory, yes he was an absolute legend on guitar. Wish he would have been more careful with guns. Thanks man!
Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 thanks for showing us this
Such a beautiful cemetery. Thank you for another great vlog.😊
They were great in the 70's when Peter Cetera was the the lead vocalist
I loved Peter in the band but I thought that bill champlin and Jason scheff held their own as the singers after he left.
@@InfamousCrimeLocations and now they are gone. Why they hang on like they do I will never know. When they first started , they were in their 20's. I suppose they do it for the money. Peter cetera was the only one that was smart enough to get out because of all of the drug using. Cetera went solo and took his catalog of songs with him. Now he is done- retired. he knew when to quit. He is 77 years old now
I personally believe that band died the day Terry kath did. Just my opinion.
@@ShotgunNShacK
They were never the same, for certain. His influence was sadly missed.
Thanks for another GREAT video Harmin! Take good care!
Love your work! I live in SW WA and appreciate the local work. ❤️
This sent me straight to Spotify to pull up my old favorites! I had not listened to Chicago in years and years. I’m not sure why, because their music was the soundtrack to my high school and college years. I wonder how many others you have inspired with this video? Great job on a tragic story. Terry Katy’s death was clearly a huge loss. Take care!
“Saturday in the park . I think it was the 4t of July.”Chicago. I am 72 years old. And have listened to Chicago for more than 50 years!!
1970 I saw the group Chicago in Ft. Wayne In. When Terry played 25 or 6 to 4, the crowd came to it's feet. Yelling and screaming in approval. It was sensational. RIP Terry.
Love your channel. I remember this. I too am a big fan of Chicago
Thanks for the video loved the band grew up in the seventies 🙏Rest in Peace
I had not heard this before! Thanks for sharing this with us.
Love Chicago. My Dad played them endlessly. I remember hearing of this tragedy. Huge loss for the Music World!!
Ur awesome. N thank u for replying back on my birthday. Look forward to ur next video always. This is sad n I bet his friend was left totally traumatized for ever.
On this beautiful day in Las Vegas, I decided to stay home & binge watch your videos :) You do such a fabulous job in telling the stories. Always look forward to the next one. Side note....it's so funny how you do all this walking and never sound out of breath...LOL Please be safe!
Awesome guitarist, well under rated. Sad loss. 💜🎸
The one, and only concert I ever went to was Chicago, in Oklahoma city. I took pictures of it, but they were so far away you couldn't tell who they were, I still have them. A few years later, my 9 year old Granddaughter fell in love with them, and I bought there two part CDs for her. I still have all there songs. Yes, Terry was a terrible loss, and it doesn't matter how he went, he's is gone, and well remembered. Thanks Harmin, great content.
That's great you got to at least go to a concert. 👍 Thanks again. 💙💙
This just made me so sad and teary-eyed. I too, love this band. The fact that he was only 31. I have a son that's 31. It's so sad that he was being so foolish. RIP
Love the band and had no idea this was a part of their history ‼️very great footage and very lovely cemetery ‼️take care Harmin ✌️👋
Such a horrible tragedy 😢 never ever ever think guns are some kind of toy! They are for killing only. Always treat them as loaded and pointed toward the ground!!
Terry Kath unfortunately lost his life and changed the lives of his loved ones and fans 😢💔
Thank you for sharing this with us Eric Harmin!!! You have such respect for those who have passed.
Chicago's music has been one of my favorites since I was a kid listening to my big brothers play it 💖🤗🔊🎶🎷🎸🎺🥁🎙
p.s. absolutely beautiful cemetery
Thanks. Huge fan. I grew up listening to them as the songs we're coming out and hitting the charts nice to see someone younger appreciate the band
I didn't know of this I love Chicago songs ..keep up the good job ! Greetings again from Honduras 🇭🇳
Thanks for the story Harmin! Always loved Chicago. And hey, you're almost at 70K subs- how awesome is that!!
Pretty humbling experience to know that essentially 70,000 different people chose to subscribe to my channel. It's amazing! Thank you Susan.
In 1969, Chicago came to our commune farmhouse in Warrington PA. My husband's (drummer/vocals) jammed with Danny Seraphine in the barn.
Hi Harmin 🤙
Chicago Transit Authority.
Legendary Band.
Hey Harmin love the videos keep up the great work.
Awesome coverage of this tragic case Harmin! I LOVE the Band Chicago, and 2 of my favorite Songs are ones that Terry sang lead vocals on 💕
