- My cousin Joel and I trecked around Washington State finding the abduction and murder locations of Ted Bundy during his murder spree in 1974.

Yes, please. I know it's a bit east, but Susan Rancourt was abducted in April 74 from Central Washington State College (at the time) in Ellensburg. What made this fascinating is the police interviewed 2 survivors on whom Ted tried the same 'arm-in-the-sling' ruse BEFORE succeeding with Susan. Would love to see this area, although I know the campus layout has changed somewhat. Thanks.

Excellent video young man. I had just graduated high school in 1974 when this was happening. I remember the fear across the nation's colleges warning female students to travel in pairs.I have followed this story from all his captures to all his escapes to his execution in 1989. Keep'em coming.

Until I moved to Utah from Florida, I had NO idea Bundy started his serial killing in Washington. I vaguely knew about Bundy when I went off to college in FL in the ‘80’s. I now realize, as a mother of a college-aged daughter, why my mom was super paranoid about my safety while I was living in a sorority house and then an apartment.
@@leighmitcler3320 me too. I made sure to wake up at his appointed execution time. I had the radion to KIRO 710 which was newsradio at the time. During CBS news they mentioned that he was scheduled to be e ecuted at that hour. About 10 minutes later the air went dead for a few seconds then "Good morning, this is Greg Hersholt, we have just received confirmation that Ted Bundy has been executed". I dont usually wish ill on anyone but that was a great moment

@@STHFGDBY Yes, it is true, because, almost all the women he murdered had the same color hair, part in the middle, same length.
He was devastated when his fiance dissolved their engagement -- it seemed like his self esteem was predicated on the continuation of that union. The end of that relationship served as the detonator for the bomb that was Ted Bundy.
There were events in his childhood and adolescent years that created his NOTORIOUS MINDSET.
I’ve heard he was suspected in taking the life of a young girl name Anne Marie Burr when he was like 15 , if true the theory of his girlfriend breaking up with him would have no basis , but who really knows.

I am a true crime fan. I have read about all of Ted's victims in the past. To see these locations is amazing. Helps to bring the victims more to life and learn more about them as people instead of just victims. Thank you both for an outstanding video.Love you guys!
What makes the Hawkins abduction even scarier is that her boyfriend watched her walk part of the way down the alley. He went inside when he couldn’t see her anymore.
That does make it even more terrifying!! So crazy how bold Ted was.
I read it was just a male friend who called out to her from a window above because he’d heard the door shut below and they had around a 5 minute discussion about a Spanish exam the next day. Then he watched her walk away like you said. The so sad and horrific part is that when she was in Bundy’s car after being hit by his crowbar Georgeanne asked if he had taken her to help with her Spanish exam.

@@InfamousCrimeLocations yeah, it is crazy how he got away with it so long even after the sketch and make of his car were released and that was early on in Washington. Every time they would release a new sketch or info the abductions would stop for a few months then start again in Utah, then Colorado. And I find it hard to believe his gf didn't suspect it was him after that first sketch that looked so much like him and the info about the car and the name "Ted" would have sent shivers down my spine I don't buy it I think she knew. And remember there was no internet or cell phones back then was a totally different time but still as bold as he was it's insane he got away with it as long as he did.
He should have walked her home. 🙄

It's sick that some women offered him marriage proposals during his trial and when he was in Prison. There are very sick people out there.

I think most people have heard of Ted Bundy but I don't think they know how deranged and brutal he was. Being there must have given you chills
What made it more eerie was the fog. Definitely a weird feeling, especially because most of the people at the park probably had no clue that bundy abducted the two women from there.

I’ve seen the crime scene photos of his apartment and they were brutally disgusting 😳 I mean they were sick!!!!! He had a barrel of acid in his bedroom where he put bodies to dissolve 😳

I remember Ted Bundy's graffiti in Wilson High Schools gym in Tacoma and I also went to the same Jr High School (Hunt).
I've met the Bundy family (his mom) and one of the Holt kids played in my band. I played music with Ted's younger brother too but they were all innocent

@@thethrowawaythatstayed7055 I was told by my former band friend Mark Holt to avoid talking about his infamous big brother as the family was very sensitive about the horrors that Ted did. At that time he had already been executed.
The high school has recently been renamed to Dr Dolores Silas High School just to appease the black students.
It's just a racial issue.

It was totally fitting finding that beetle while we were driving around. Creepy that someone captured Bundy's beetle there at the park the day of the 2 murders there

Thank you brother. What a cunning and manipulative guy he was. RIP to all the women he killed. I feel as though there were more that he killed that he didn't admit to. I believe 30 women is the number most crime investigators are saying
@@InfamousCrimeLocations I agree, there were probably many more victims of this vile predator. I also think that your detailed presentation of what he did is very valid and hopefully eye-opening for some. Bundy is so often reported upon around the world and so much detail and information is left out that he becomes almost erroneously revered. I suppose it's a bit like the case of Jack the Ripper. It seems like a good story until you really think about it and what horror that predator really bestowed upon his victims and all those around them.

These videos are awesome. I've read so much and watched so many videos about Ted Bundy but I never knew any of this stuff. Great job
I saw a video on UA-cam that supposedly shows Ted’s VW driving in the background.
I saw a tv show or tv movie about Ted at Sammamish and there was supposedly a woman who he first tried to get to help with the boat but when she got to his car and the boat wasn’t there she bailed out. She later saw him trying the same trick with Denise from a distance and kinda shook her head at his tenacity. She later was an important witness who saw Ted and Denise together before Denise disappeared.
I read where Ted stocked shelves at a Safeway on Queen Anne. Shopped there in the 90s but didn’t know about the history at the time.
The Ann Burr case is heartbreaking. IIRC, Ann wasn’t feeling well and tried to sleep in her parents room. They said no and when they woke up, she was gone. Can you imagine the guilt they must have felt? I read a story in a newspaper when Ann’s mom died. Her parents never moved or changed their phone number in the hopes Ann was still alive and would come home or call one day. 😢
Heartbreaking...I wonder why the area that was being torn apart and redone wasn't looked into
Great video. Hawkins was encountered by Ted Bundy on crutches and struggling to carry his briefcase. He asked for help and he led her to his car that was parked around the corner in a poorly lit parking lot. As she bent over to put the briefcase in the back seat for him, he pulled the crowbar that was resting on top og the rear wheel of the Volkswagen and the rest was history. Very sad 😢
Exactly, he didn't abduct her in the alley, which shows how persuasive he was and how naively generous she was. He had a crowbar sitting right next to his car, outside, ready to be used. Hawkins never saw it coming. She was knocked out, handcuffed, and put in his car within seconds and driven away up in the mountains, his usual dumping grounds. He "visited" the site the following day and days afterward.
I've researched serial killers last 40+ yrs. Even saw body bags being brought out of the house of John Wayne Gacy. I knew ted bundy was going to be a complicated case. So I saved him for one of the last. Thanks for this vid! Can't believe how much info there is on him.

You are very correct but things were very different back in the early 70’s. Things were much more laid back and it was the time of hippies and lots of hitchhiking was going on. I was a 20 year old at that time. Only a crazy person would hitchhike or pick up a hitchhiker now. Or help someone with their arm in a sling.

You never met him or talked with him nd cannot follow him like that nor in a car !!! I thumbed a ride once it was very rainy but i never did it Again. I guess some girls were Lucky in thr seventies but others were found DEAD in a field or along à road .. creepy!! Sad ending.

My friend was approached by him at the lake bathrooms. She told him sure wait here. she will get her friends to help. He was gone when she returned with help. I’m thankful she survived but so sorry for the families & friends of the girls that died.

Its creepy to see you guys in front of the home Bundy was sniffing around, he was literally peering through those windows.
He could have done his first kill at 14, very sad.
Who know how many people he really killed, he went out like a coward using that as a bargaining chip to prolong his life in prison but the court system rightfully denied it to him.

Back then we didn’t really call the police unless it was a life or death emergency. It wasn’t like it is today.
All of those reasons plus perhaps they had a little pot in the house too?
1974 was a different time, people didn’t do this stuff and didn’t call the police unless necessary.
The world was a different place in 74. Most people would not think,of hurting someone else. Back then, murderers and rapists, were not lauded. People demanded they be held accountable. As in Bundys case, people traveled to Florida from different states to just be close to where they electrocuted him. The townspeople asked every one to turn off every electric current in their homes to ensure that old Sparky had plenty of juice to carry out Bundys death sentence.
And when it was over, they celebrated. Rightfully so.

Seems that way but according to the FBI, the 1970" had more serial killers than any other time.
I remember watching the live show on the news while getting ready for school that morning. The lights flickered from the jail. They prepared all the people watching from there and at home watching on tv. (They said the lights would flicker once the switch was pulled.) I’m so glad he’s gone. My daughter chose FSU to go to college and it creeps me out every time I drive past the XO house. It’s so very sad.

I was a teenager living in Utah during Bundy's crime spree in Utah. I fit the profile of Ted's victims, and I was out and about all the time during that time. It's a miracle that I didn't cross paths with Ted Bundy!
I was constantly out in the Salt Lake City areas that Ted frequented. It's a horrifying thought 😳

Horrible man. Last victim 12 year old Kimberly Leach he took her from a Lake City Florida school. He tortured her then threw her in an abandoned pig pen. She suffered terrible. Poor girl. RIP Kimberly

Great video! Sad that a setting as lovely as Lake Sammamish is infamous now. One thing about Georgann’s abduction, Bundy claimed to have used a ruse with some crutches, asking her to help him carry his briefcase from the alleyway to his car. After the story came out one of Georgann’s friends remembered a man on crutches in front of the sorority house trying the same ploy on her a week before but she got bad vibes when they got to his car and ran.

Why don't you feel sorry for ted your all clueless its the killers who suffer no one else
I lived in Seattle in 1974 and know about Lake Sammamish State Park, I did not know Janice, but I did know Denise. She worked at the bowling alley in White Center where a lot of us hung out. Her mother was severely traumatized by her daughter’s murder. Since Denise was abducted during the day her mother would not go outside during the day. She could be seen in the grocery stores at weird hours of the night. Denise’s room was not to be touched, she wouldn’t even dust it. The king county police lost her bones and finally found a few fragments years later so her mother could bury her. Very sad. Also after Ted killed all those women in Florida he was never held accountable for Denise or Janice, but he was executed in Florida.
Did you by any chance kn ow Vonnie Stuth ? She went to Chief Sealth High and graduated the same year Denise did. I dont know if they knew each other but 4 months after Denise and Janice disappeared Vonnie disappeared from her home on Burien. At 1st they thought it was the "Ted killer" as he was being referred to after Lk Sam. Anyway it turned out to be a different serial killer. Stuth was het married name I cant remember her maiden name
Denise was older than me so she graduated a couple years before me. I did not know Vonnie. Could it have been the green river killer?
@@Pambo101 no, it was a guy named Gary Addison Taylor. They found her body at his place in Enumclaw. He also killed in Texas and Michigan. Most likely the Green River killers first murders were in summer 1982
Daniel Lopez: yes, I just looked it up and was reading about him. What a bunch of creepy people lived in that area back in 1974. I imagine it is worse nowadays . If one dwells on it, it could make us all want to stay in our houses and never venture out, but even that safety is an illusion as Vonnie was abducted from her home...
smith Smith western Washington is so much more built up now that it's harder for serial killers to find places to dump their victims. Now it seems there are cameras everywhere and with advances in technology I think we are definitely better off now, plus I think people are more wary now.

He was suspected in the murder of a woman on Queen Anne Hill when he worked at the Safeway there.
Well after he was arrested then people started to wonder if hes the one who attacked that girl and her roommate. All anyone has is speculation. They were stewardesses and four years later another strawatdess, I think from the same airline but I could be wrong, was murdered in Madison Valley. One theory is that there's a connection, however the later girls killer was seen and he doesnt match Bundys description. Bundys been named by people in connection with almost any case from the 60s or early 70sin the west. It's not impossible that he did it but I discount the possibility of him being the Queen Anne attacker.
Grow up in Bellevue, and road my bike to Sammamish State Park all the time. I graduated from high in 1979 so all of this was such a big deal. Have driven past various sites, such as east Lake Sammamish blvd and Taylor mountain as well, just driving to day to day activities. Pretty chilling. I have the same feelings about the Green River killings.

Bundy's ashes were scattered on Taylor mnt. I wonder if in his mind that was a way to be with his victims forever. They never were able to recover all the bones from Taylor mnt. I have a friend who knew one of the Sorority survivors and another friend who's father n law was in prison with Bundy in FL he was there when Bundy was executed

@@InfamousCrimeLocations I didn't know one of the survivors a friend of mine did but I can ask her if you would like to speak with her,I have no idea what she'll say but I will ask if you like. Also as I said I have another friend who's father n law was in prison with Bundy in FL he was there when Bundy was executed her husband told me he drove by the prison that night and it was a crazy scene people yelling and cheering all kinds of things and burn Bundy burn . He said his father told him Bundy would have these periods where he would change at times seeming normal then a look would come over him described as pure evil. Another tid bit my daughter has the same birthday as Bundy and my mom told me something I don't even remember, she said when the murders were happening (I would have been about 4 in 1977) that I was a nervous wreck beginning her to change her hair as it was long,black and parted in the middle she said I worried myself sick over it even at that age and we live in NC. I have always been what you might call obsessed with the Bundy crimes I am 47 and have been studying everything Bundy since I was probably around 12 I know it inside out.

This guy was pure evil! Even When Ted is given a plea deal he decides to fire his public defender and defend himself. In the end, jurors found him guilty of all accounts and sentence him to death . Just goes to show you how his life could have been spared. Don’t get me wrong he deserve everything he got for the murders . Great job showing the location of the murders, R.I.P
He was even sick enough to agree to the plea but in court that day, when his lawyers came in he tore it up in front of them and then fired them.

Ted Bundy brought his Beetle to his fiancee's place. Didnt she find it odd that there was no passengers seat and inside door handle was missing so it couldn't be opened from inside? Anyone would comment if a car needs repairs. That is one odd car !
He would take the seat and door panel in and out as required, I believe.

@@glengamble526 heres the thing. Any time any unsolved case in Washington, Oregon, or California from the 60s or early 70s is brought up the first 2 words are always "Ted Bundy". He was 14 it probably would have been his first major crime, He would probably have made a lot of mistakes, plus it's unlikely that he had any vehicle besides a bicycle or his own two feet to transport her body. Then he would have gone years, perhaps more than a dozen before killing again. Except for his last victim all his known victims were college age, with hair parted in the middle and usually with dark hair. Does not match Anne Burr. Impossible that he did it? No. Highly unlikely? Yes

Thank you very much! This one took a ton of time, 2 days in fact, to film. It took quite a long time to edit too. I have been getting lots of dislikes so I must have gained some trolls.
I have studied a lot of true crime. I have been investigating the murder of my father for 36 years ongoing, and have found out alot. Being a father, I of course pay close attention to people like Bundy, and their thought process. Great things to check out are the profiling programs that law enforcement has implemented over the years (one name that comes to mind is John Douglas, FBI ret.). These guys interviewed Bundy in prison, excellent reading. These profilers are amazing at how accurate they are when given a crime scene as to "what person could have done this"?

Thanks for the information about 1970's hitchhikers👍🏽 since I was only like between 8-10 years old when this was happening, also my mom always told use about talking to strangers and getting in their cars I had no clue that teens and adults was doing what I was told not to do🤦🏾 I guess maybe that's the reason my Mom was adamant about her kids following her rules while being outside with any adult supervision.
I was 8 years old, in January 1974.. But I remember the news warning people of him, when I lived in Florida, when he kill the sorority sisters, and Kimberly Leach, who was my age, when he kidnapped, raped, tortured, murderer, and mutilated her.
I drove across America last fall and back, and I never saw one female hitchhiker, 8000 miles, which is good, yet sad too, as it shows how society has changed.

Also, if you can dig up any good info on Billy Gohl, he is supposed to be "the" most prolific killer in American history, according to some sources. He was said to have killed and robbed well over 100 sailors in Aberdeen, WA in the early 1900's, as he worked at the port holding onto their valuables while they were shored there for a night on the town. There is also a bar & grill there named in his honor that is supposed to be quite haunted. His story is very obscure though, I haven't been able to find a whole lot of info or footage relating Gohl or his crimes.

He looked disheveled and he had a demonic look in his eyes. He was driving the "infamous " yellow Volkswagen.
I could tell there was something radically wrong with him.
I ran across the street, so therefore, he had to turn his car around!
I did notice I couldn't read his license plates! One was totally unreadable it had dirt and mud all over the plate. The front plate was totally bent and also unreadable.
I am glad that I kept my head about me.
That was the worst day of my life!

You should read "The Stranger Beside Me" by Ann Rule she knew him very well and worked with him. I started it but it freaked me out. She talked to him even after he was arrested. There's interviews too.

Also I am convinced Burr was his first victim and I am also convinced he killed many more than what he confessed. Want to write a book do one on his other possible victims. He tied poor Janice Ott, to a tree, with a massive head injury, but very much alive, till he got Denise Nasland, 4 hours later, then he killed, Janice in front of her!! While he foamed at the mouth, crying about being a lil Bastard child, Bundy was deathly afraid to fight a Man, hope he's sitting on Hitler's lap, being bitten like an Apple, for eternity!! He was A Beta male coward, who thought he was smarter than life, where's his nutty daughter n her kids, she should not have been able to reproduce, it's in the Genes, how many kids his real father have, after dumping Louise, Bundy has a lot of half siblings, roaming around, they should have been watched, but they don't tell ya that stuff! 🤮 TY

The "service road" you speak of towards the end is, in fact, the old Issaquah railway line, now a cycle/walking path. Due to the expansion on the I90, and development in the Issaquah Highlands, the original roads Ted used to use to get up into the woods are pretty much gone. In his confessions, and King County police photos, Ted used to travel east on the I90 then perform an illegal left turn across westbound traffic to get onto the original service road, which according to his description, would go across some railway tracks and into the woods to a grassy area. Further down from this was an abandoned house/property. I think he took Jan and Denise there, considering they were found not too far away. If you go on "historic aeriels" site there is really good overhead photography of the site from the relevant time period.

Not Bundy in the photo if you mean the plaid shirt. He was wearing all white including sneakers (according to all the witnesses that saw him with Janet especially). He also had curly hair. I DO think the pic is supposed to be of his car. I haven’t seen it proven but I’ve seen that before and never heard it refuted.

People that were just taking photos on that day at the lake, investigators actually confiscated their cameras .
The one picture I put in the video showing Ted's vw was taken at the lake the day of the murders. But yes they did confiscate but over time someone uploaded it
