    I brought a Boblov rangefinder from Amazon for only £65 and have found it very user friendly and accurate. In essence it works just like a Bushnel but at a fraction of the price.
    Instead of reviewing a ridiculous cheap range finder that will obviously have issues, why don't you try to review more rangefinders below £100 to see which ones are best as there are plenty out there!!

    Relies on trigonometry to calculate distance so depends on the height of the flag-stick and the angle of the slope. You could make a better estimate from experience.

    I use a Nikon Sure Shot 20 cost about $170 US and have had it for several years. Bought a WoSport, Chinese made, range finder that had slope and actual distance. It fell apart after less than 6 months use. It was accurate but difficult to get focused to display the 2 yardages.(regular and slope). When the WoSport died, I went back to my Nikon and am still using the Nikon which only gives regular yardage.

    So, this is basically using a known reference height at distance to guess the distance!
    This make it useless for a hunter or am I wrong?
    I guess this is no better than estimating the distance by the reticles/range estimator of a hunter's scope, as long as he knows if the scope is 1st or 2nd focal plan, and probably if he knows what that means, using a SFP.

    Are you sure that the green line is not meant to be at the bottom of the pin and then adjust the line to top of flag.. Hence the length of flags to give you a more accurate reading. Its using Pythagoras loosely to work out the distance and using the front of green does not give you a fixed point.. Try using it again using the bottom of the pin.. And i think if you had the length of the pins fed in to it, it would only mean pointing it at the bottom of the pin and it giving you the distance without all the adjusting

    • @thecoondog56
      @thecoondog56 2 роки тому

      obviously ...the math needs the height of the flag as a standard height ...and you need to measure off the top of the flag ....it is amazing confusing something so simple ..

    It obviously uses trigonometry to work out the distance, that is why you have to input the height of the flag. You would literally need to go to a hole and measure the flag pole with a tape measure before using it and hope all the flags are the same height on that course. Terrible way to find accurate distances unless you're using very precise measurements which you simply can't do with a handheld device like this. Better off just using the course markers or paying more for a laser range finder.

    You are very shakey when taking a reading. Kind of like comparing a moped to a Mercedes. Isn't that being a bit arrogant? I certainly think so.

    Why would golfers buy cheap shit rangefinders. That's a posh sport. If you can afford golfing, you should be able to afford normal rangefinder.

    I should have viewed this before I bought it. It took 4 weeks from china, they said it would be 1 week. It is a POS

    Mate, who’s going to watch an £18 minute video on a £12 rangefinder? Get a grip man

      Mr Shade, obviously you have money to waste, if you think watching an informed video to see if £12 was worth investing or not - and FYI, the most pertinent info was in the first 3 minutes, the rest of the 18 "Pound" video was actually quite fun to watch - or you can just use the fast forward button....
