- Osborne House is a former royal residence in East Cowes, Isle of Wight, UK. The house was built between 1845 and 1851 for Queen Victoria and Prince Albert as a summer home and rural retreat. Albert designed the house himself, in the style of an Italian Renaissance palazzo.
Come along for a walk in and around Osborne House.
Tour starts with Osborne House, including the State Rooms, Family Rooms, Dining Room, Billiard Room, Durbar room, Kitchen and more.
Walk around the gardens, then onto the beach where you can see Queen Victoria's bathing carriage - followed by a stroll along the path to see the Swiss Cottage and some fascinating objects from around the world in the Museum.

Teodor Erdmann Kalide, after graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, already in the 1820s became famous as a sculptor of animal figures. In 1824, in Berlin, he showed plaster models of two lions: sleeping and awake. The Royal Prussian Iron Foundry in Gliwice, which funded Teodor a scholarship for his studies, concluded a contract with him in 1824, obliging him to develop work models for the plant, according to which foundry molds could be made. The foundry kept a catalog in which the offer of iron and bronze sculptures was placed - therefore twin copies of some sculptures can be found in many places. At the end of 1831, Kalide was appointed an academic artist and began working in Berlin. In 1836, he made "Boy with a Swan", next to lions, it is his most widely known sculpture, which was cast in many copies. One of them was shown at the World's Fair in London in 1852. One of them decorates Matejko Square in Chorzów, and another is in Gliwice. "Boy with a Swan" can also be seen in Czeladź, MINSK and in the former royal residence of Osbornee House on the Isle of Wight.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed Osborne House.
Wow! The whole manor/home is absolutely huge! I wonder how long does it take for the team to clean up without breaking all those beautiful and delicate pieces of art all around?
I was thinking of visiting this year. By looking up residences in the area through Bing search and it showed up your video. It is of excellent quality. Thank you!
Thank you, yes you will need a full day to visit Osborne house, and still not be able to see everything, cleaning and looking after all the exhibits must be a huge task, such a wonderful place, we are hoping to return soon.
Amazing.

Thank you, we visited the Isle of Wight on a coach trip, but I am fairly sure you can buy a ticket on the day, maybe best to look online first.

Did she have a servant Abdul
Yes, Mohammed Abdul Karim CVO CIE (1863 - 20 April 1909), also known as "the Munshi", was an Indian attendant of Queen Victoria. He served her during the final fourteen years of her reign, gaining her maternal affection over that time.
