I agree! 😀 And I'd suggested a 'Who Did It Better?' esipode between their 'Take This Job And Shove It' and the Johnny Paycheck original already a while ago, too! 😊
Good track from a great album. Forest Fire, Trust your Mechanic, Moon over Marin, all from the same album are well worth an investigation. If you were concerned about censorship back then Chris, you must be absolutely terrified now !!

I've always been big on Halloween, ever since I was 4 years old. The only years I didn't really celebrate Halloween big were at the peak of my very overt punk years. To me, the fun of Halloween is putting together a really good costume, then wearing it out in public. But back then, I was wearing exactly what I wanted to wear, and getting really creative with it, every single day. My hair style and color changed more than the seasons. I didn't feel as strong a pull to wear a costume once a year, when I felt entirely free to express myself creatively through my appearance every day. This song is very much getting at that idea. About being excited to dress crazy once a year, but then going back into the mold the next day. Why not break the mold, and dress crazy every day? It gets impractical, but as long as you can hold onto it, it's very personally rewarding. That said, like he says in the song, when you make that choice, inevitably, people WILL glare at you. Some treat you like a circus freak, some treat you like a criminal, some want to fight you for no other reason than how you look. Businesses will discriminate against you, cops will give you a hard time just for existing. It's not always easy. You have to just not care about the way small minded people react to you. That's maybe the best lesson punk taught me.
Cynthia and Chris: It appears you two haven't checked out 'Frankenstein' by the Edgar Winter Group yet!? If you don't already know it, I warmly recommend you the live version from 'The Old Grey Whistle Test' show 😊
I've got two suggestions before it's too late for scary season. Shame on the night... Dio , and Voodoo .. Black Sabbath 😊 Also Evil eyes, and Holy diver by Dio. Holy diver is a real classic.
Thanks you guys. I didn’t expect to get this one up. This is a great album from front to back. A lot of people seem to be inspired by Moon over Marin. It’s a great song. Probably the most accessible and poppy on the album. Another favourite of mine is Bleed For Me. A bit more political but very relevant for what’s going on in the world today. Keep up the great work. Love your Channel.👍
Hello from Chile. If you don't like punkrock maybe you like the folk rock of the 70s that was made in Chile. I wish they could react to the legendary Chilean band Los Jaivas, only comparable with Pink Floyd, I'm sure you'll like the song Mira Niñita (Look Little Girl). PD: find the original video with images from the 70s
Does not float my boat. I probably heard them once or twice some two or three decades back and probably be the same distance to next time I random hear them.
Shaun , this is a perfect example of what I’ve been saying . Not only is DK one of my fav bands and this one of my fav tracks , THATS MY thing and the fact you can’t be bothered with them or this specific track and have taken time out to comment on that doesn’t bend me outta shape or affect me in any way , and it’s good to get your point of view even if it doesn’t coincide with mine . When I do it I get piled on and I’m still sitting here thinking , why would it bother them what the hell I think ? Like you , if I don’t get a track or artist I’m gonna say so , it’s what a comment section is for , so though I don’t agree with your view , that’s cool as a frozen box of Fonzies snd good luck to you sir 👌 👍🏴

Least favorite track on my favorite Dead Kennedys album. Most of the record stretches the songwriting talent, but this song's just kinda the one riff and it goes on forever. Compare it to the absolute chaos of Riot or the perfect Pop songwriting of Moon Over Marin, Halloween's a dud.
