I have a buddy here in the states. He's about 40-50 miles from me. Both of us on base stations. He was using am RM Italy amp with about 100 watts. I could barely hear him. He got one of these Lincoln 2's and was talking to me barefoot at 30 watts and sounded clearer and louder than when running 100 watts. I was really amazed. I would like to pick one of these up to add to my collection.
Hi Jimmy i cant explain why your friend on 100w, was not good, unless his rm was dead. I like the Lincoln2+ a lot, the looks clarity of Audio and its stable. DO let us all know how you get on with yours.
Hi Stewart it's good u enjoyed it. I can't fault them , although some would like the ability to program the 40 uk fm channels. No big deal to me as I much prefer SSB.
Sorry Steve to confuse you I saw your video of the Lincoln ii + you were talking about the muppets channel and said that you can go up a few channels and I wondered if it went down a little too?
Hi David the lincoln2+ can get all the muppet channels bud. They can't be programmed in like on the 6900, but u can ad some to memory. And then go up or down 10kc to go up or down a channel.
@@CBRadiouk1 I've got the original Lincoln 2 which initially had loads of problems. Mine was sent back to President in France and they sorted it out. I've got a video showing the hidden engineering menu on my UA-cam

Hello Steve. I’ve a mk2 v3. Had reports of muffled audio on stock mic. Took foam insert out of mic and now ok. I don’t like the stock mic though. I’ve plenty of old school mics I use for other radios. Do you know of a replacement mic that works well on these radios. I know it’s six pin electret and caution with the wiring.
Hi Steve ive got the Lincoln 2 plus very pleased with it not used it yet as can only go mobile i want to swr in a sirio 4000 what channels should i use mid block channels 1-20-40 to swr in for 27 mhz?
hI Simon it depends on where you plan to use it really. I mainly use the eu block, so i tune the Antenna for that band. Some tune on ch 20 and then check on 1 and 40. Myself i check 1 and 40 IF ITS OK AS MOST Sirio Antennas are i already know that ch 20 will be ok.
Hello, my radio transmits fine on AM and FM, however when I switch to SSB I press the PTT, I get “TX” on the display but it doesn’t transmit. It transmits as I am releasing the PTT. I factory reset the radio, however the issue persists.
Hola , ud pudo solucionar ese detalle , al parecer a mi radio que es de igual modelo , le pasa lo mismo...si pudo ,seria posible comentar como resultó el arreglo , gracias
Hi Thomas simple answer is I do not know. RF can do strange things, that said I have never had damage to my car. In the past using radio in my car, the doors would lock while transmitting.
Hi Simon change the frequency to 27.781.2. You cant get the 5 at the end, no big deal. I believe you then press and hold the memory button. Give it a go and let me know how you get on. Just press the memory button again to go back to where you was.
This video prompted me to bust my old CRE8900 Out of its box.. And test the output etc.. The rig has decent TX Performance. However compared to a President George, President Jackson Mk1 . Deaf as a post.. Now I have decent test equipment . I will try to re-align the receive on this rig.. I have recently bought brand new Galaxy rigs from the US. A DX -2547 Home base and a DX- 979F .From the factory the alignment was a joke shop.. Consumer be aware out of the box these transceivers are appalling...

I Am a fan of them as well, lets be honest its a big ask to make a Lincoln 2 after the mk1 was so good.
Superb stuff SteveO! Just bought one and looking forward to firing it up. Good vid!

A very good rig but the display was 2 small for me, so i moved it on.
I notice you had the mic gain on max do you find you have too ?
can the channel select dial be operated as a VFO, to manually tune into frequencies?
Hi ' you can do that sort of.
That said it's click click click'.
Testing the power you must set the meter to a high level first or you can damage the meter movement. So you made a BUBU.
