I also share with you my Law of Attraction vision board, how I think it works and how to get a board (or Law of Attraction notebook if you prefer) set up. Enjoy!

Covid was a blessing in disguise for me, allowed me to pay off a good chunk of my debt! I was lucky enough keep my job and work from home so still had my regular pay. I realised how much money I was wasting in my daily life, so it taught me how to budget effectively.
I’ve paid off both my credit cards and close to paying off my overdraft!

@ShariGetsit Did you find that a lot of your money was spent on train fares, after work drinks/dinner, eating out at lunch and starbucks? I have saved so much extra money working from home by not having these extra expenses.

Honestly....I lost my job in march...i have gotten money from unemployment in the USA. I did not have credit card debit thankfully but now i have come to the point where I am selling luxury items. At first i was distraught but now i that one day i will buy new items when I'm in a better place. I use one debit card no room for shopping unnecessarily. Everyone stay healthy!😷

I relate to your situation @Joyce . I have been without a job since March and it’s been so hard to at least get an interview. This happened in the moment I was transitioning from engineering to fashion business, plus moving to New York. So, I know it’s difficult but I just wanted to let you know you are not alone. Stay safe! Good vibes 😊

2020 definitely not the best year for most of us. But it lets me finally have the time to take care of my body. I finally got time to lose some of the weight I wanted to for ages, went to a dermatologist and get the one mole that I always wanted it out🤣 Most importantly I did my first ultrasound checkup and finally know where my serious period pain came from😟 Did a surgery to remove the endometrial cyst and recovering. Well...2020 thought me to really take care of myself I guess🤷🏻‍♀️

Thank you for always being so kind, positive and realistic. I am a concert pianist, so 2020 is a complete disaster for me careerwise. It was supposed to be a big year, lots of tours and recitals that had been planned 2 years in advance got cancelled. Nothing compared to people losing their lives, of course, but it wasn't an easy to adjust. Always watching your channel to brighten my day!

Love the vision board. I do mine in writing, helps me do flow charts/where to move to next. More like a roadmap. Like others said covid was a blessing in disguise. We were going through a major home remodel when it hit. But the blessing was that because we weren’t going out we paid it all in cash. Took no loans like we were thinking. It’s also allowed us to save money and be able to splurge on things that we’ve been wanting since the sales.

2020 was tough for most people... but what these troughs do is that it makes us clearly see what has been working, and what we've been trying to make it work by being forceful. Looking at people who lost jobs, there were many issues for most people in the industry, at the work place, before this hit them. Not to mention, all parents who were scrambling and traveling hours and hours to get to work, rush home, take care of their kids... none of these things actually makes sense. When we have no choice, we have the choice to look at WHY, and what we actually want and deserve.2020 is the perfect year for life design... which this video is really about. Great video, Sophie!

Honestly Sophie, these are some of my favourite videos that you do. I too had loads of debt when I was young, it was only when an ex sat me down to tot it all up that I got scared (he'd been through it too), and I worked really hard to get it organised and paid off. It's really important to have finances under control ESPECIALLY when you're into luxury. Lots of good advice. I might give the vision board a go, I've never done it before but a lot seems unachievable or out of reach right now, the focus could be helpful. 💖

Ahhh so excited for this video. I remember asking for more career/study style videos from you, and I'm so so grateful for this! I'm very new to the professional world, so this was rather helpful.
On to some good news from here - after quitting my awful job this March due to the coronavirus, I applied to LL.M. programmes (both to upskill, and to give myself something to do at home). Sooooo guess who's going to do her masters in law this year! Mad props to your channel for being such a solid source of motivation through and through for so many of us, Sophie.

I love these videos too Sophie! Just as much as the shopping and bags etc. These videos really highlight how business savy you are, how motivated and driven you are, and how all of your life experience - the good and the bad! - has been ultra funneled into wisdom and growth! I really admire you for this, more than the financial gains and how gorgeous you are, your heart and your devotion to being a genuinely kind and motivated human being LEGITIMATELY make you one of my greatest role models. I don't own a single luxury item, I'm not really a very trendy or fashionable person, and I still live with my parents because I'm studying medicine, lol. From the outside, it seems like there's no reason for this to be the case, but you are one of my heros, and it's because of the way you approach life with so much intentionality and passion, and how kind and generous and respectful you are, to yourself and others. Thank you so much for all of the love and support and joy you put out into this world, God bless you and David! Lots of love from a grateful subbie! 🌼💛

Thank you for this topic and reminding me about goals at a time where I am WFH since March and have stalled on all I planned to accomplish due to feeling depressed and lazy. I also realized the reason I never unpacked my vision board when I moved to this state for my dream job is that I'D ALREADY GOTTEN EVERYTHING I PUT ON IT!!! I must have been crazy not to consider how powerful that sort of subliminal motivation must have been when I looked at it every day. Thinking back, I created it when I was in the midst of multiple struggles that I was able to overcome. I hope anyone who sees your video will consider the concept and be inspired. The act of just putting it together will lift your mood as you consider life's possibilities. We will all get through this :)

My Partner was due for a promotion just before covid hit, but once covid hit they started laying people off, unfortunately none of it was due to covid it was seemingly a bad business move but as the timing goes they could blame it on covid. They put the remaining staff on either 50% or 80% pay. He was willing to wait it out until they restored full pay. the date of restoring full pay was being pushed back further and further so he started looking for a new job and we were both surprised at the amount of jobs that are out there. he now is starting a new job with higher pay and a bigger company with opportunity's to work in other country's. just shows even tho times are hard it can be better.

I am unemployed since August. In April I had the COVID-19, but I was grateful to have my job and I recovered very well. I will take a course this month and to continue looking for a position. I believe we need to stay positive and calm. I am grateful that my family in my country is fine, and no COVID related issues. Here in the US a lot of people is having a very hard time. However, I feel a lot of people lives in a bubble here. They don’t know other realities. Great topic in this crazy time that we are living ✌🏼🙋🏻‍♀️

My fiancé and I aren't "struggling" financially. But 2020 turned our plans upside down. I quit my job in January and had plans with our savings for wedding, future business ventures, etc. We ended up having to use the money for rent during quarantine. I completely agree with you, this year being the year for companies of getting rid of employees who don’t do any job properly, some even left by themselves. And being the year of changing the workplace. Watching this video made me feel happy that I’m not the only one thinking this.
During 2019, I was looking and planning everything out for 2020. I knew I had to change my occupation due to my current working environment. It‘s only a matter of time until the company can‘t afford us while there isn‘t any work to be done. I would have done a course (in May) in order to be prepared in an office job and change at the end of the year. At first I thought, due to the situation, this will never happen and I‘m stuck. All I can do is being patient, focus on myself and make a new plan appropriate to this situation. The course was offered again in fall, which was great and the exam would have been this Friday… has been postponed. I know I will get to my goal but currently, it‘s all about patience.

I remember last year watching your vision board video and it inspired me to create my own. So I added luxury things, travel, gadgets and also a plan to start my own business. I work in a dead end job in CS so I’m over it lol I’ve always wanted to start my own business so I thought why not add the tools I need to the board. So I added an iPad and a MacBook since I didn’t have a personal computer any more and once I leave my job I want to have that all ready to go. I didn’t know how I was going to afford it but I added it anyways. Well back in May I was able to purchase it and purchased the domain for my blog as well 🎉 it’s actually creepy to see the board coming to life (I actually forgot I added the iPad on there) but I’m so grateful you influenced me to start one 😊

I was only half paying attention until you mentioned promotion! I don't think I'm the one who comment it on your channel (if I am, I forgot) but that's exactly what happened to me and I was quite bummed about it. I'm a researcher and with so many folks at the company I work at either let go or furloughed when they work in operations....I was kind of surprised I was doing fine (aside from promotion on-hold company-wide) since my job isn't strictly necessary unlike others. Now I know why, upper management is quite happy with my work and taking this opportunity to let go of some folks not based on job but the work they did make sense. I've been sulking and procrastinating making new goals, but you've inspired me to jumpstart that again. We are never going to go back to now it was, the situation will get better but still different. Instead of waiting, the sooner we adjust to it the better....*sigh*

This year, 2020, has been a horrible non-year and I feel sorry for those who lost relative or friends to the Covid-19. I had a premonition that 2020 would be an awful year and I can't wait to put it behind us. Also, the mood board looks cute and a cheerful idea.

Hi Sophie. Excellent video as always - I feel like the universe is trying to tell me something. This is the second time today I have heard about vision boards. I need to revamp the one I had for 2020. I love making lists, writing things down, having goals - but I oftentimes get so caught up in the "what am I doing with my life and how am I going to get there" that I never take time to just the process, map our what I want and just work towards it. Granted I am only 23 so I could just be putting too much pressure on myself. Thanks again!

Last recession was brutal for me and definately scarred me a bit, but this one was the last push to figure things out. Ive had the time to slow down now. Ive managed to prioritise and safe some money on a very below average income. You really dont need much stuff and a lot comes for free. I also looked at other ways to have a bit of an extra income and have multiple income streams now iwith stuff I really like to do. You are right, there are chances out there, even now

I agree on right now is the time to go after the job you've always wanted! Before the lockdown I was working at a 9-5 stable job but it gave me no joy. Once the lockdown hit it gave me the time to rethink what I was doing as the thought of returning to that job made me sick! Long story short- I applied to my dream job and got it! It was terrifying but the chance was so worth it 😊

Before the illness I got an opportunity to work fulltime for the company I was interning in but that opportunity is now gone. And I'm actually glad because It wasn't as good as I thought it to be (it was in a city I didn't like, the pay wasn't that great and neither was the job description). Now I'm working an in-between job (customer service) to pay for my degree and upskill.
I don't know how my situation will look like next year but I hope better than if I just took that opportunity and conformed with my life.

Recently I found a list I'd made years ago, and completely forgottem about, of the things I wanted to achieve before I was 50 - one being to get my goofy front teeth 'sorted' (didn't say how!). Fast forward some years, and 4 months before my 50th I was sitting in the dentist's chair having 4 top front teeth pulled and replaced with implants because my tooth roots were being reasbsorbed and my teeth were failing. So, I had perfect teeth for my 50th...and the Chanel WoC which was also on the list. Still can't drive though 😁

I lived in the UK in 2013-4 and I remember, back then, everyone was like 'oh, the property bubble will burst soon enough'. 7 years later, things are getting worse by the minute (globally, not just in the UK) and the prices are going through the roof without any sign of stopping. Instead of a year or two, I think it'll more likely be at least a decade before the whole thing slows down. Not bursts - slows down. 'Tis bad. Very bad.

Prices usually double every 10 years in England, or every 5 in up and coming areas. But these next 10 years may stagnate since they’re just far too high. But it won’t ‘burst’ - people are far too stubborn

During COVID i think the main thing i’ve noticed people really thinking about their life in general- not just wanting to change their work, but in their relationships. Lots of divorces happening due to the time alone with your SO and then dealing with any issues all the time without distractions. Lots of people I know are struggling there.
For my SO and me, we have thankfully been strong in our marriage but we both are trying to get promotions right now. I’ve waited long enough before the pandemic for one, so time to upskill and get out lol

What a great video! Yes, you are right, we all will never get that time off again. However, it was still scary while we were off due to the fear of contracting the virus and potentially dying - so it wasn't fun at first. But I used that time to do some organizing and I'm not finished yet. As soon as work started up again it was the same hectic lifestyle all over again.
You're so right about the vision board. I told my husband this and he said he's always had a mental vision board lol. I guess the important thing is to reflect and ask yourself what you really want. I can't keep a mental note, so I will have to write it down or document it somehow! Maybe set up an album on my iphone? Or I like the notebook idea!
Real estate is crazy right now. I hope that bubble will burst.

A very interesting and insightful video. It is fUnny that you should talk about how companies can get away with making positions redundant just as a way of getting rid of someone only to give that same position a new title and then to employ someone new into the same position that was just made redundant. It is so unethical , but clearly a loophole that is exploited. Very sad. I think COVID has really addled corporate brains. Stay strong everyone

Omg...such a great video...I am a true believer in doing a vision board...so three weeks ago my Area Manager had everyone on his team read a book called the “ Energy Bus” and we were to discuss it as a team as to what we got out of it, the goal being
was to motivate us particularly during this unprecedented times. Well the plot twist was a few days later my company announced they were downsizing the sales force as well as administration. This was to take place in 2 days from the announcement. It was the most stressful 2 days of my life...luckily I was retained, but it was a blood bath and I lost good co-workers. We are back to reading the “Energy Bus” & the vision board is a component of the book. Since my co-workers now that I live by my vision board I’m going to present it to the group and the chapter that pertains to it. ❤️📔💡

This space in time was perfect for my husband. He just finished his master's degree. The company he was working for furloughed him, recently announced more down the pipe. He took a new role with another company which is the next logical step up in his career. I think right now is definitely a good time to be retrospective. Think things over and decide to take another road if possible. However, on the flipside, my parents own their own business. One employee tested positive for covid and they had to close for two weeks. The employee is recovering, but it's a serious hit to their business. Every person's situation is different.

Okay, I give in. I’ve always poo-pooed the whole vision board thing, but you have convinced me to give it a go. So, it’s off to the craft shop tomorrow for board and push pins. I was wondering, do you time limit your “wants”? In other words, a new car, job, second home by such and such a year, or do you just leave things open ended? I’m sure I’m older than most of your subscribers, so I’ve knocked a lot off the list just by years and experience, but I’m a believer in a life well lived requires always looking forward and there are so, so many things I’d love to experience, see, taste, share. 2020 has caused me to cancel all my travel, but I’m ever hopeful that 2021 or 2022 will open those doors again. Always love your inspiration, common sense and empathy. You’re a treat!

covid ruined my 2020 - I graduated from college in May, so the end of my senior year was entirely at home and I missed out on everything that was planned for the seniors and I didn't get to say goodbye to anyone. I was also working 3 different jobs on campus and started to lose them after quarantine started in March, so I've been on unemployment since, and I'm now struggling to find a job. In good news, I got accepted into my university's MBA program, to start in the spring - I'll only be going, though, if I can get a graduate assistantship; they offer graduate students 20 hrs of work per week in exchange for two free classes, so you don't have to pay for tuition. I'm planning on specializing in marketing :)

Sophie you're so right in 2008 my employer at the time was glad for the recession and they made me redundant because they obviously didn't want me working there! They used the ressession as an excuse to get rid of me! Also the red car on your vision board was in your subconscious mind that's why you subliminally chose to test drive that car recently!

My lease came up in April, and rather then signing on for a fixed term, we signed on for a month to month. Knowing that we could leave at the drop of a hat is a relief. I would definitely recommend it (in Australia, where our real estate laws protect the tenant from being kicked out without sufficient notice). Might be different for other countries.

Sophie, I am so glad you’re now talking about the vision boards because this is the perfect opportunity for me to say that I recently discovered a very beautiful app that implements a version of it! It’s called Dreamer and is available for iPhone and iPad. I use my devices so much that I find it more convenient this way. And I will start using it soon because it feels very right, although I also want to do more research on the psychology behind it. 💜💜

I know a lot of people are really struggling and because of the field they're in have been really affected, but it's true that in a recession not every market is hit the same way. My brother for example works remotely for a start-up that sells software and he actually got a raise in June, a good one. I agree, this is a great time to continue education, or maybe switch to an area you would have never considered. Great insight here Sophie, thanks for sharing, and strength to all those struggling right now! 💪♥️

Commented earlier about interviewing for a job... Well I got it! I feel so grateful to be employed during this time! It's all a bit crazy out there.
My job search tip is to start now! It takes loads of time (what about just waiting for them to get back to you!) and sometimes we get stuck in the "thinking" phase.
And don't apply for 1 or 2 jobs, apply for 10 or 20. Also consider if you can move your geographic location for a job.
