Hey guys and welcome back to Mad About Skin where in todays video I want to share with you the best new Korean skincare 2023 and my Korean skin care favourites which I have discovered in the past 3 months.
Korean skincare has been a huge trend in skincare here in the west for the past couple of years, but with so may new products to choose from, I wanted to share with you the best of the best when it comes to Korean skin care new to the market. From Skin1004 through to Mary and May we have a little something for everyone here from the best korean toner to the best korean sunscreen.

How does the Skin 1004 Pore Minimising Ampule compare to Medik8 Liquid Peptides Serum? Could you substitute the Korean one for the Medik8 one?
The Skin 1004 Poremizing Ampoule sounds amazing! It sounds like a perfect combo of ingredients that I'm always looking for, for my oily acne-prone 30-something skin: centella, argiriline, matryxl, aloe, panthenol, plus some ingredients I haven't tried, like the Himalayan salt and copper peptides.
Hi Rob I love Korean skincare. I just made another order, but recent favourites are:
the RNW ceramide serum - I'm late to the party with this one, but I was nervous about the long INCI list on my reactive skin. It was on a steep discount so I ordered it and I'm glad I did as I really like it.
the Cosrx light propolis ampoule - I had used a few bottles of the corresponding toner, but decided to try the ampoule (I found it on offer). It's really hydrating on my extremely dry skin and I like propolis as it's very soothing on my skin.
the Tia'm Vita B5 toner - a repurchase, but I hadn't used it for a couple of years. Well I'm in love with it again and it's super hydrating/soothing on the skin. It has an excellent INCI list for the price and I've ordered a backup.
the BofJ glow deep serum - just started my second bottle and I am seeing results with pigment now. Most treatments targeting hyperpigmentation are too much for my reactive skin and cause serious irritation - not this one. It's really gentle, but has alpha arbutin at 2% and seems to be working for me.
A product I had really high hopes for was the isntree magnesium toner - it's supposed to help with redness. For me it's a bit meh and has no redness reduction capacity. It's not particularly hydrating either. It's not irritating, but it's not great - I'll use it up, but it was very disappointing and it's a 500ml size.
Another meh product for me is the Pyunkang Yul calming moisture toner. It's not calming and it's not hydrating - again very meh. I'm almost done using it up, but won't be a repurchase. I do like the original PY essence toner btw and it is hydrating.
I have ordered a mini in my order (on it's way here) of the skin1004 centella ampoule to try it out, but wasn't aware this one had all the peptides etc so hadn't looked at it. Maybe next time I do an order lol. best wishes.
Love the skin1004 pore ampule. I had studied the ingredients about a mth ago and have been using it since. Such a great price for 100mls considering the formulation. Cant beat it. Plus its cruelty free with no fragrance.

After using up the 1st bottle, I thought it didn't do much: I thought my other skincare was doing the heavy lifting and that's why my skin was looking gorgeous, typical.
*I was so wrong*. I started breaking out, inflamed nodules under the skin. Once I got the 2nd bottle, all my inflammation was gone after two nights of using it. I'm not even kidding! It's a holy grail and a must! 🙌 Nothing else has worked on the nodules I get sometimes.
(+ Himalayan salt is sooo good for atopic dermatitis too!)

I don't know why it took me so longer to discover Dr Jart Ceramidin but that cream has saved my sensitive skin. It glides on like margarine, absorbs quickly, seals in the moisture after a quick spray with the Avene mist.. Ceramidin is the best product I have ever put on my face. The serum is just as brilliant as the cream!
I just got my new Haru Haru Mineral sunscreen & I am feeling that it is my new holy grail! I ordered two & already have two in my cart! I absolutely adore it!
I adore Korean skincare My skin has never looked better. I'm definitely going to try the Skin1004 Pore Minimising Ampule. Sounds amazing and just what I'm looking for.

I haven't tried the new Isntree Green Tea Toner yet, but 3 layers of the original toner did wonders for my dry skin with hormonal acne! 💚

Hi Rob, how would you say the pore minimiser ampoule compares to the medik8 peptides? I love the medik8 one but always on the look out for a good dupe.x
Hey @MadAboutSkin just a note on the chemical sunscreens, they are actually more harmful than you think. They absorb into the bloodstream and these are UV inorganic compounds that when exposed to heat, react and cause an “organic” compound (not the organic that you may know) and that’s how they work as sunscreens. Mineral sunscreens however DO NOT absorb into the blood stream, they sit on top of the screen and inhibit UV rays through the minerals Titanium dioxide or Zinc oxide or both. Mineral sunscreens are also safe for sensitive skin and acne prone skin. I don’t know what you prefer but I can live with covering up the white cast, that mineral SPF gives off, by blending a bronzer in. Whereas I do NOT want UV chemicals in my blood stream
I am not sure where you are getting your information from but those claims about the chemical sunscreens have been disproved over and over again. No chemicals are entering the blood stream and chemical sunscreens are also safe to be used when a person has sensitive, acne prone skin. AliceintheRabbitHole and LabMuffinBeautyScience are two content creators using actual science data while reviewing K products including sunscreens.
Love this video! Skin 1004 is my favourite brand for Centella. I have nearly all their ampoules including this one and the Blue serum is nice for mixing in MAS serum 👩🍳💋

Hey Rob, once again great reviews ..how abt some ginseng products also ? I have been wondering abt the ingredient lately. Also whats ur verdict on the ordinary eye peptide? Tbh i only try products after u have reviewed them. I have been following your analysis,UA-cam from last 1.5yrs n its alwyas my first choice for any skincare .

I dont think I’ve sensitive eyes normally. But since going all out to use all those boots No 7 stuff along with the other peptide stuff my eyes are streaming. Especially in the morning. Think id better try less around my eyes. But thats where all my wrinkles are. 🤪

I'm new to Korean skincare and late to the game. Where do you get your products from? Stylevana takes sooo long and so many people say they never get their packages.
Hi I live in Scotland and have never had a package go missing, but if you pay for priority shipping (and always insurance) then it arrives within two weeks. It's £9 for the shipping so it is worth making a larger order less often - that's what I do. However the products are much cheaper than from UK sites (mostly and always shop around re price) so even factoring in the shipping costs it's usually worth it. I hope that helps.

I find the new isntree packaging more beautiful but the lid leaks for me! sad about that when travelling but I love the toner so much I get it anyways
