    I have been to Oahu, Hawaii 8 times. I loved it, there's so many activities to do and see. Flying from Sydney, Australia more than 9.5 hrs is worth it. Self driving around coastal Oahu is a must, watch the coastal scenery change every time.. spectacular!

    I traveled here last month. I was able about 8 things I planned on while i was in Oahu. We started our first day off with a morning hike Makiki recreational area, and a attempt at surfing at Waikiki beach. I highly recommend taking a lesson, as you have a tough time figuring it out. the rest of the day we spent eating different types of food. The next day we went to island divers to snorkel and scuba diving for 69.00 dollars on groupon. The sea turtles are amazing, and huge!! After scuba diving, we went to North shore to cliff diving, but parking is hard to find, so we ended up at Three Tables to swim, and play football on the beach. The next day we went sky diving with pacific sky diving . Be aware if you do scuba diving, you cant sky dive for 24 hours due to the pressure with your ears I think. I got lucky, and there was a 26 hour gap. The last day we went to Pearl Harbor and the swamp meets at the stadium in Pearl City. Pearl Harbor was extremely educational, and the swap meet is by far the best place to get souvenirs. Kids t shirts were 5 for 20, and adults 4 for 20. It was an amazing time, but I would recommend scheduling in two half days of just relaxation, as I was exhausted the whole trip. I want able to do three things i wanted to do. I wasn't able to go to a luau, shark cage diving, and deep sea fishing. There's always next time

    Hey enjoyed the videos, it seems you've missed a whole lot in your what appears to be a set of fast set of stops, Diamond Head and Pearl Harbour and other things in one day!!! Wow. My wife and I were on Oahu this past March, and it took us all day just to see all the different things at Pearl, and this was our second time as our first was done through sightseeing excursion and we didn't get to see all of what we wanted to see. Hiking Diamond head took the better part of half a day. We love the islands and will be back again. If you ever go back please slow down and really enjoy what you see.

So glad to hear that you and your wife enjoyed your time at Pearl Harbor and Diamond Head. Completely agree that there is much we can do to improve and we do hope to come back to as try and do as you say to "slow down and really enjoy what [we] see". Thanks again for sharing your comment with us and hope you have a great day!

    Before I started my comment I checked out what others wrote and after a quick scan I don't recall seeing any negative ones. I hope you'll take the following as constructive criticism. On the bright side you got some beautiful footage, however most of the "activity" shots were too brief with quick pans. I guess you're trying to get a lot in. Your longest scenes were in eating places when it seemed to be one long commercial. Consider more Oahu and less loco moco. You sure love your food though. I was hoping to see more of the many attractions Oahu has to offer. My apologies for not seeing this sooner. We just got back from a month in Waikiki and I wanted to relive some of the memories.

      Hi Char Horst, thanks for checking out our video. Agree that going with a flow can be nice, however who is to say there aren't other folks like us who happen to also squeeze in a ton of activities during their trips. Nothing wrong with people have different travel styles or adopting new ways as well. :) Based on preliminary research, reading reviews and speaking to locals about our intention to visit PCC, we opted to not visit. We chose the more intimate settings of TOA LUA as were told PCC can feel like a bit of an amusement park. Though if you vouch for it, it's place we can definitely reconsider visiting in the future. Thanks for sharing the recommendations. :)

      @PrestonKrista  5 років тому +1

      Maui and Kauai are both great!! As for our favorite island, it's hard to say -- they each have such unique and wonderful attributes. But if we did have to choose one (from the four that we visited), it would be Kauai. There is something mystical and a little wild about the oldest populated island with its varied geography from tropical beaches, to lush rainforests, majestic canyons, and verdant valleys. While we definitely want to spend more time exploring and learning about Kauai the next time we visit, we also want to do the same for the other islands too!

      Hi kicker2511, Thanks for checking out our video and sharing your comment with us! Excited to hear you're visiting Hawaii in November! :) The approximate time we arrived at Waimanalo & Lanikai was early afternoon. Since we went in October (a generally less-busy tourist month) we were able to find parking fairly easily. There were no crowds when we visited Waimanalo so found parking right away, though for Lanikai it took us about 5min driving around to find a spot not too far from one of the many beach path entrances. Hope this helps and have a fun and safe travel for your upcoming trip! :D

    Great videos! thinking of taking my 16 yr old son to Oahu in May for a week. I'm not sure if I just stay on Oahu the entire time or try and visit another island. Any advice on if its worth seeing another island in that short of time and if so what would be best island for sightseeing/hiking. thanks!

    Was there only one type of hike at diamond Head?

    • @PrestonKrista
      @PrestonKrista  5 років тому

      From what I remember, there is one main trail from the Visitor center you take to reach the summit of Diamond Head. Though when you get towards the top you'll emerge from a tunnel and will be presented with the option of taking an easier route (choose left direction) or go up a steep and narrow flight of stairs (choose right direction) that lead to a tight spiraling staircase to emerge at slightly less crowded a viewing spot. Hope this helps! :)

      No worries if you don’t feel comfortable going up that route. 😊 If you wanted, you could try that way going down instead? But any way you choose, you can still get to that corner of the viewpoint to take in the sights of Waikiki Beach and the Pacific Ocean.

    Do you think my 6 month pregnant wife will be able to hike diamond head?

    • @PrestonKrista
      @PrestonKrista  5 років тому

      The hike isn't too rigorous in technicality but it is a pretty decent, long gradual incline to the top. If you and she decide to hike there are "alternative" route of stairs you can take when you're near the summit to avoid the steep incline staircase that leads into a claustrophobic tunnel. If her doctors clear her for an Easy/Slightly Intermediate level of cardiovascular activity then she should be able to hike Diamond Head trail at a pace that suits her best.

      Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. This was the first video we made in our 4-part Hawaii Travel Challenge so we were still figuring out the best way to present information - hence why the on screen text can seem quite fast.
