    It's really awesome seeing local spots on UA-cam, 5 minutes from Belleaire, super helpful video by the way.

      Hit it up and catch you some fish! The point is to help others enjoy the areas and catch fish! Not a fan of hiding things… except my charter spots, I keep those hidden lol

    Awesome tutorial thanks! 7-Strand is quick and easy to tie on the fly. I used to use it, but tI also prepare rigs ahead of time, and keep a bunch in ziplock bags, and all are now Titanium. Titanium is bit harder to work with, but you can catch a number of Kings before they curl up. Titanium is also much, much, more resistant to getting cutoffs. Tight Lines everyone ;-)

      I like this idea! I’ll look into that and try it out this fall!

    size hook 🪝 size

      Size 2 for both. The bigger for bigger fish but you sacrifice visibility. Whether I’m trolling, inshore or tarpon fishing I always go with the smallest I can get away with. I’d rather get bits and lose fish than not get bites at all. Same holds true ti leader size

    How many feet leader (and what pound test) do you tie to your stringer rig? Or do you just tie the wire straight on the braid?

    • @FishingwithFrankie
      @FishingwithFrankie  2 місяці тому

      Four to six feet. I use a lot of leader big game fishing

    just curious if yall fish the MBARA Kingfish Tournament in Mexico Beach? me, my dad, brother, and pawpaw fished it this year and got 3rd in the recreational division. thanks for the Rig tips, looking to start catching the big ones.

      I don’t, I focus my fishing career mostly on tarpon fishing. I have fished many kingfish tournaments though. Speaking of which I haven’t made a video in quite some time. I’m glad these tips are helping people, I appreciate the comment. Most importantly it’s very cool fishing brings you and your family together, that’s awesome!!!

    Okay. Good video. I have a similar method but think I like this one a little better. Moving to Lakewood ranch in August and will have a boat out of Bradenton. Maybe our paths will cross. Subscribed. Looking for more good knowledge. 👍🏼

    Will it still work if I use different wire cutters?

    • @FishingwithFrankie
      @FishingwithFrankie  3 роки тому

      100%, the only reason I use Premio is bc it’s one less tool I have to carry around! They’re cutters and pliers are lifetime warranty so f I mess them up I have a backup pair and I send them in and get them back brand new basically

    How come a jhook instead of a circle hook?

    • @FishingwithFrankie
      @FishingwithFrankie  11 місяців тому

      J hook bc the bait is moving. Circle hooks are best for still or drifting baits, j hooks are best for trolling especially kings. You’re not trying to hook a king in the corner of the mouth, you want to hook them anywhere on the face. They often “greyhound” baits, any hook (j hook or trebles) you can get in them is a win!

    can you do an fg knot instead of swivel?

    • @FishingwithFrankie
      @FishingwithFrankie  Рік тому +1

      Depends on the rig. 99.99% of the time I used line to line like an fg knot BUT if I’m using a spinner bait, or say anything that spins the line up, I use a swivel to save the braid as it will spin really bad and lose strength and create non stop wind knots

    When I ran in the circuit in the very early days of SKA, (I’m 63 and you didn’t have to be a millionaire), every crew member where required to have 500 rigs tied before the season.

      The ones you buy are not always better; you can make them yourself, its easy and you can customize them to your liking.
