Thank you for making this video Here in New York City Tuesday May 26th 3:21 a.m. watching. I'm thinking about joining the marathon. I don't think I'm ready maybe one day I will be I'm glad you made it, you are amazing.👍 good job
I ran this marathon that year (2019), but not as fast😊....it took me 5:04 to finish. But it was exiting to see the entire course again and remember the crowds and the streets of new york. It was the best experience ever!
Loved this video! I will be running the NYC marathon for the first time this year. I was looking for a full video like this. I've watched it on the background while working from home. So nice to see the full track. Thank you for posting this!
I ran that race and was amazed to see two of my team mates in the video. Mentally that run finished me, but watching this makes me want to do it again in 2022, COVID willing. Thank you so much for posting 🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for putting this on-line. I ran the 2019 marathon and now I’m looking forward to my next NYC marathon. I put this on the TV to watch as I do my runs on the treadmill.
Wow, impressive, congratulations on your time! I am still dreaming to run this particular run one day, so thanks for sharing this experience with us :)
Thanks so much for posting this. I loved running with you on the treadmill. I ran NYC marathon for real in 2016 though nearly an hour slower then you! Thanks again, it was great to relive the experience.
It was nice to participate..virtually with you both. I liked the fact that you moved the camera around so you could see the other runners and hear the crowds. Thanks!
Thank you for posting this. It's a great reminder of a wonderful day that I had when I ran it in 2019 as well (much slower than you - but still a PB for me).
I heard a lot about this event, it really looks fun... Maybe some day on my running journey, I will reach this place... Thanks for sharing... #runmotivator
This is an incredible video, thank you so much for this effort. I ran this race also but much slower. If you have time, can you possibly list the video equipment used? How is the image so steady, a gimbal? I'm amazed you could carry the camera gear and still run such a fast time.
I'm very glad you enjoy this video. The camera I used was DJI Osmo Pocket, which has gimbal inside, also I hold the camera during the whole race so the image can be steady enough
Many thanks for recording are sharing your race. I'm so glad I've found this, that's exactly what I was looking for during my preparation for this year's NYC marathon. I read all the comments, but haven't seen a question/answer yet: why did you slow down more than half a minute after 40K? I'm sure it wasn't fatigue. Another question: how does your NYC marathon's result 3:10 compare to your other maraton finish times (from around 2019)? I have a PB of 3:11 on a flat course, so I know the hills will slow me down, but how much time can I expect... 5 min? 8min? Thanks! Btw, do you run this year?
Glad my video helps. I slowed down after 40K because I intentionally did that. I was in a 100-mile training week and my goal race was 2019 California International Marathon. NYC was my long run. I ran 2:44:28 in California on December 8th, 2019, one month after NYC Marathon. Personally I would recommend at least 5-minute cushion for NYC over flat course. However, if you did enough specific hill trainings, NYC is not that hard. Plus it has the best vibes than any other marathons you could ever imagine.
@@MarathonRunning Wow, fantastic. Yes, I was sure you did that on purpose but before I watched the video, I thought you were with the pace runner group and you had such a lead and you all were able to slow down at the end. But then I saw you weren't with them. Now I understand. NYC as a Sunday long run, not bad :) it's my main goal for this year. Unfortunately, I only heard about the hills/bridges much later than I applied :) I also live in a completely flat area so I can't train on hills, but I'll still try my best. It's just quite obvious that NYC won't be the race where I reach my dream of a sub-3h marathon. I mean, not this year :) Thanks again, and keep up with the good work!
Hey there. Just wanted to thank you for the video. Really helped me to visualize the course. I would like to film other marathons and was wondering what camera you used and how did your battery last that long? Did you use more than one camera? Thx again.
I use DJI Osmo pocket, 3 of them are enough for up 4 hours' 1080P videos. I know others cameras can change batteries but DJI osmo pocet not. However, it is small enough for you to carry more(I borrowed two from two of my friends.)
DJI Osmo Pocket. One camera can record 80minutes roughly and battery is placed in permanently. I used 3 of cameras(2 borrowed from friends). The camera is small enough to put into my short's pocket (with zip of course). I hold one arm in front to record in order to achieve the best stable image, but most importantly is the DJI's action camera has its own 3-axil stabilization built in. as you can see in my video, the images after 21mile were not stable, because I wrongly select the filming mode after I changed to the 3rd camera.
@@MarathonRunning I am so lucky I have gotten a guaranteed entry for NY 2022! maybe you should do a training video for running sub 3:20 marathons or a specific training plan for NYC marathon 😉 I look forward to the Boston video 👍
