A.J. Allmendinger’s penultimate Champ Car start and his last victory of his Champ Car Career. He was replaced by Buddy Rice for the last race of the season at Mexico City.
That was a scary crash for sure. And she was doing SO well in that race! Her finish would've been incredible. And it wasn't her fault at all, theoretically its a mechanical issue with the rear wing just leaving. Man...
I was at this race in the stands in turn 5. We heard it was a very bad crash and for a while we we worried if she lived. It was great to hear she was in good shape. I had a close call in turn 5 a few years ago in the Indy lights race. I am the brown hat that jumps during the crash. Look at "Scary crash at Road America"
Right Now - The perfect IndyCar rock song.
hello David Land =)
Yeah for 1990. It was 2006 at the time, I ain't feeling it, and I love me some Van Hagar.
Great upload! I was a fan of the old CCWS but after watching this race, some 15 years later, the competition is definitely watered down.
Love Me some Classic INDYCAR races no matter The year. Simply awesome to watch. THANKS!!!
It’s ChampCar, not IndyCar.
Nice upload. When Da Matta and Legge had horrific crashes. Oh Road America! Great Road Course
The Racing Memes what happened to Da Matta? Did he crash in like practice of the weekend or something?
@@hayden4597 he hit a deer in a practice/test session.
Thanks Indycar. Great upload.

Saw this live & thought Katherine Legge was seriously injured, then she popped out the the care center smiling!!
An excellent news, sure. I was aprehensive about her.

Bourdais in his prime was magical.
Oh yeah!!,Champ Car,please Indycar posting the 2006 Grand Prix of Denver after this,i' so ancious to watch Tracy vs Bourdais last lap battle
i love these era!
Really like 👍 Road America 🇺🇸 plenty of room for good racing.
My bod… did the interviewer really ask, “is everything hunky dory?” Legend.
interesting to compare that Champ Cars in 2006 were still manual shifting, and the F1 cars in 2006 already had paddle shifting.
Sequential shift, not full manual - very simple step up to paddle shifting(which they did the subsequent year).
@@FormulaFox Ahh, cool cool. Thanks
F1 cars had paddle shifters in the early to mid 90s. Champ Car began using them in 2007, and the IRL in 2008.
@@NotSteveCook first paddle shift car mclaren mp4-12 1988 just to inform u have a nice day everyone
@@kennethcuyvers4851really? What I can understand, it was the Ferrari 640 in 1989 the first car to use semi automatic gearbox
1:40:31 Katherine Legge Crash
AHHHH Memories!!!!
Yes! Pls moar classic ChampCar uploads!
1:11:45 Timmy Megenbier climbed up to USF2000 in 2011, finishing 6th in the championship. Never graduated to Star Mazda or Indy Lights, though.
Holy cow, you're uploading the ChampCar races?! ty ty ty (biased)

13:00 for the start.
Remember being there very very well! 🏁🏁❤👍
Lola was beautiful
Last open wheel race for a Lola in a Major series at US soil.
First Lola win came with Mario in 83, in Elkhart Lake also.
I Saw this live too and I thought Katherine Legge had gone after that horrible crash! Glad she came out of that ok!
Such a young Will Power
The year of 2006 was a storylines of GTA 2.
I love both Indycar and F1.
I thought she was dead when I first saw the crash
17 car grid. Yikes
I mean it’s ChampCar and not IndyCar so that’s when IndyCar was starting to rise and ChampCar was starting to die out I believe.
@@BH28Racing Both were floundering at the time. The IRL had only 19 cars in most 2006 races.
Low car count, lots of "unknown" drivers. Champ Car really struggling at this point. Sad to see.
2:30:36 pale lips.. lmao
Champ car 🤮. Piores temporadas.
porque?
I was at this race and almost got run over by Paul Newman in the infield LOL
