Technically the race lap record was set in 1998 but yes, the outright track record was set in qualifying for this race

@@DimZ_F1 In the bad way.Ii mean in terms of how the pyramid scheme works, how the cost spiralling, etc. What F1 today is similar to what happened with CART back in the days.

Robin Miller was so right about ABC, Always Bad Coverage. The camera work is dreadful, but, having always been at RA, it's great to be able to relive these races.

Yeah there’s a better quality version of this race uploaded by a private account, which is embarrassing on Indycar’s part.

@@nyancatlegendary4806 that's not the issue. They re-listed an old upload last week and the audio is fine. Their digitizing process became a problem some months ago.

The big problem is, they focus so much in his NBC gold garbage that they don't even care much in his UA-cam channel, it's a miracle that every week upload a race in this channel, but, they have a lot of race hidden, and the only way to watch it, is having NBC gold, which in most part of the world doesn't have that garbage, only in America!

I remember vividly going with my dad and JPM was (is still) my favorite this was when the Toyota was unreliable and typical the car gave out on him. So there we are walking down the pit area and sure enough there was JPM signing autographs to this day I still have it in its original packaging.

23/06/24 Target Chip Ganassi cars, look brilliant, iconic for sure. Shame about those Toyota engines, if memory is correct didn't go the distance many races.

Thanks Indycar its no secret to my friends and family that any race that Paul Tracy was in was an absolute pleasure to watch he has a win or crash outlook and that is something you cant teach a driver to do all while still keeping it clean maybe a chrome horn here or there but always gave it his all. Thanks Paul Tracy for many a great Sunday.
