Hi Jess…I’m a 74 year old fellow Australian and I’m sitting here in my one bedroom unit situated in a retirement village and I’m crying with you. I’ve listened to this song many times and it always gets me. I have two sons…and a daughter…and twelve grandchildren and I marvel the simple yet powerful message of the lyrics. I loved your reaction
A mother's teachings are the absolute things for a boy's life. Children who can receive such simple and straightforward teaching are happy. mother is forever great and absolute I have watched it many times and can't stop crying
All my years of watching people listen to this song, I have never seen anyone break down in tears over it, but I understand why. Great reaction, keep it up!
@@inbedwithmusic2130 As a grandfather who has listened to this song for decades, I've never experienced it through the eyes of the Mother who desperately wants her son to hear her guidance for his happy life, always through the eyes of a son who adored his mom. You brought me to a whole new level of emotion and appreciation, for which I thank you.
I am a 52 years old man and I cry sometimes listening to this masterpiece. Thank you for sharing your true feelings with us. No apologies necessary, please don't change!! Your kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful mom!
I’m so sorry for your loss John. As a mum, I know that my children are always on my mind. I have no doubt that she’s in the next life, thinking of you and waiting patiently until you meet again.
@@inbedwithmusic2130 Thank you, as a mother must teach simplicity and what it means to help others. Sorry if I'm overreacting, I'm just a parent, hope it's helpful.
I'm sorry for your loss of your Dear Mom. It doesn't matter how long ago it was, it always still hurts in our hearts to lose the woman who brought us into the World. I miss my Mama too! Take care.

In my opinion this is one of, if not the best songs ever written, there is such a deep, deep message in the words that if more people took them to heart, this world would be in a much better place, and don't apologize for your tears, I'm 61 years old, been a Skynyrd fan since I was 14, and I still tear up listening to Simple Man
Wow, thanks for that. I didn't realize how much I needed a good cry. Such a moving, heartfelt and genuine reaction to one of the greatest songs ever written. Your boys are in such loving hands if this is a sample of the compassion you possess.
I’ve lost a son. It crushed me. I’ll never recover. One thing I did learn (the silver lining so to speak) is unconditional love and what it means. We all make mistakes. We all are imperfect. But the love of a parent. It’s not about anything other than accepting your kids as they are and allowing them to make the same mistakes we did. That’s the journey of life. Just love your sons. Period. Nothing more. I feel you’re doing that. Good energies to you.
Probably the best reaction I've ever seen to one of my favourite songs which has such deep meaning. Your warmth and love for your 3 boys is indescribable.
It's not embarrassing, it's real emotion, it's beautiful and as you've learned on the 1st songs you've heard, Skynyrd touches your soul and you will listen to them for the rest of your life. I do not know how old you boys are, but give them this song. I think they will love it. Thank you for your reaction.
Thank you for your reaction. This song will get you every time. My mom died 30 years ago when I was a very young man. Today my teenage son's mom is in hospital and very sick. All I want for him is to have a less difficult life than I have lived. I have all the same feelings you spoke of . This song has always been such a comfort and a reminder of what the important things we all want for our children. Bless you, your boys are in great hands.
I was fortunate enough to grow up listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd on the radio. They are the best and their songs bring back so many good memories. Thanks for sharing your reaction. I can tell you have a sweet spirit, may God bless you and your family.
I’ve listened to Skynyrd my whole life just about. It still gets me too. They’d be proud you enjoy their music. That terrible plane crash robbed us of one of the greatest voices and lyricists of all time in Ronnie Van Zant.
I am a 54 year old, mother of two now grown children, one of them a boy. This song hit me like a freight train the first time I heard it, dropped me to my knees. I have multiple health issues and my worry was so gut wrenching. I played this song to death I sang it I wanted both my children to just absorb it. I can tell you that it worked I never once forced the issue I just organically loved it and they knew. Both of them are such wonderful adult people now, I am thankful every day. I imagine your boys will also feel and respond similarly. Love covers so much and your love shines.

I'm 40 and been listening to Skynyrd since I was 12. I've never cried to this song but seeing you be so moved by it made me cry. I don't have kids but seeing you connect with these lyrics because of the love for your boys was a beautiful thing to watch!

I play in a band, and neither me or my guitarist can get through this song without crying. We both lost our mothers young and it makes us tear up every single time we play it, and it probably always will. Don’t feel bad, this band connects to people in a way that few others have.

Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote, sang, and played their life stories.... It's real stuff and topics! That's why it resonates with anyone with a pulse. Not to mention that they were all excellent musicians, playing real instruments. Perhaps the best band ever in rock history. And for all you young people, look at their live concert clips... Look at how united the fans are, look at the American flags flying everywhere and the civility of the crowds. It was an era of true American patriotism and pride.
New subscriber here and I was crying right along with you. No need to apologize for getting emotional. We all do it. Lynyrd Skynyrd is a class one southern rock band that I just adore. This particular song is my husbands ringtone on my phone. I have heard it hundreds of times and it still touches me. Ok. if you want another emotional song, listen to Loggins and Messina, Danny's Song. Another artist that you could check out is Stevie Ray Vaughan, one of the greatest blues guitarists ever. He is number one in my book. For a start, check out his live version of Texas Flood at the El Mocambo. You won't regret it.
You showed a powerful reaction to a beautiful song with a powerful message. Rest In Peace those members of Lynyrd Skynrd who perished in the plane crash. Your music lives on.
I have heard this song thousands of times. As a musician, I have probably played this song hundreds of times. It still hits me emotionally EVERY TIME! Ronnie was one of the best poets/lyricists of the 20th century, if not all time. I was in high school when the plane crashed. The entire school had an air of depression for weeks.
Awe, I'm so glad to see another mom having the same reaction I did to this song. I used to think about writing them a letter too. I played it for my boys all the time while they were growing up and I send it to them on their birthdays every year now that they're grown men. I can't write them a letter that would say what I want them to know better than Simple Man.❤️
I'm a 54 year old man who grew up on this song and have heard it a 1,000 times and I'm sitting here with tears running down both cheeks. What a powerful reaction to a very powerful song. I feel entirely grateful to you to have shared tears with you. My very best wishes to you and your boys. Love, from Texas...
This band was so amazing, their musicians were so good, and the way they could tell a story which hit home for most of us. Amazing we were so lucky to be able to enjoy these guys for the short time they were with us. Thank-you Ronnie,Jerry, Leon, Ed, Alan, Steve, Billy, Bob, Gary, and Artimus. You were amazing!!!
Thank you so much for this reaction video. I'm 56 years old and when I was just a young boy My mom played this song for me and she told me this is what she wanted for me out of life. She wanted me to be the best version of my self. To be honest decent and kind. My mother passed away 5 years ago and this song still brings tears to my eye. I have a portrait tattoo on my right shoulder of me when i was 3yrs old and my mother above the portrait reads "A Son Never forgets the love of his mother" Your sons will always remember your love because your heart is in the right place, that is what A son remembers.... a son remembers the love of his mother forever!!

Honey, don't apologize for loving your sons and this song. All of us mothers feel this when we hear this song. My husband ask me to play this at his funeral if I were still living when his time was up on this earth and in 2013 it was played at his funeral. He was only 53 when cancer took him from me. Thank you for your reaction. I cried along beside you. Brenda from East Tennessee. USA.
It's ok Jess, I've been listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd over 40 years and still get goosebumps and sometimes choked up by the original recordings. They were so deep!. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Cheers!
An absolute masterpiece of a song, needless to say (Mom) really dished out some true wisdom! You also should check out another great song, also with an important message and some fantastic guitar solos etc..
Every time I hear this song on the radio I have to turn it up. Ronnie Van Zant is singing from his heart. You could tell he was the real deal. It just sucks he left this Earth at such a young age. His little brother Johnny Van Zant stepped into his big brother’s shoes years later and revived the band and has done an amazing job keeping his his brother’s legacy alive. This song does get to me as well. It can sometimes make me very emotional. Don’t ever apologize for crying to this song. You have 3 sons and the words in this song could be something you could express to them.
No need to apologize, we all tear up at this song. I grew up with this band. My brother gave me their One More From The Road album for my twelfth birthday in 1976. Nothing can replace honest human emotion. This song brought out the love you have for your boys, we understand and we cried with you.
Being 62 now and raising 3 boys in the Texas farmlands, I am beyond impressed seeing how this song impacts you, just like it does the rest of us. My own mother (Rest her soul) gave me this same message in 1971 when we were very poor. I listened, and I passed it on to my boys. I find peace in knowing my sons will do the same. It's a message, it's a ballad, It's a moral culture. Those that tear up actually get it.
I got goose bumps and got choked up when I first heard this as a kid....I grew up right down the road from Allen Collins and have met several of the guys Great reaction, as always

I get it. Keep doing what you're doing. I don't think any of us feel like we are doing enough. -Love and Light
Don't ever be sorry for how music touches your soul. It is the WHOLE purpose of music.
Good music
I'm 40 and been listening to Skynyrd since I was 12. I've never cried to this song but seeing you be so moved by it made me cry. I don't have kids but seeing you connect with these lyrics because of the love for your boys was a beautiful thing to watch!
So heartfelt and beautiful. You are one of my favorite reactors now. This song is powerful and you felt it. I love that. Please don't apologize. Stay true to yourself and you'll always come out on top! Please direct me where I can post suggestions for future songs! As my Aussie friend has taught me over the years all I can say is "good on ya!"
Don't ever be sorry for that kind of heartfelt reaction, you are obviously a great mom.
Your sincerity is so moving. Your boys are incredibly blessed. They could not ask for a better mum. Your connection to this song says everything.
Good Mothers produce Good Sons and you seem like a good mother God Bless You and and your Sons
Oh thank you, I’m not without my flaws but I’m doing my best. God bless you and yours.
What an amazing band that can touch our hearts at such a deep level.
Appreciate your AUTHENTIC reaction. ❤️
I appreciate your comment ❤️
I play in a band, and neither me or my guitarist can get through this song without crying. We both lost our mothers young and it makes us tear up every single time we play it, and it probably always will. Don’t feel bad, this band connects to people in a way that few others have.
This reaction is everything!
One of the most beautiful, most heartfelt reactions to this song that I have ever seen. Thank you.
Thank you so much, I appreciate the words and I’m glad that such a beautiful song was recommended to me.
@@inbedwithmusic2130 You should have a listen to the link below. It is from a band called Shinedown. It's a live, acoustic performance of this song that they did in 2012. Powerful as hell. I think you'll love it! :)

Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote, sang, and played their life stories.... It's real stuff and topics! That's why it resonates with anyone with a
pulse.
I love the fact that you allow your true self to show. This is far better than faking a smile. .
I loved your reaction. No need to be embarassed. It was pure and from the heart.
You showed a powerful reaction to a beautiful song with a powerful message. Rest In Peace those members of Lynyrd Skynrd who perished in the plane crash. Your music lives on.
No need to apologize for having a beautiful heart full of pure emotion! One of the very best music reactions on youtube! God bless you and your sons!
🥹❤️ thank you so much. God bless you and yours
Much love. I think your boys know how much you love them.
Thank you, that’s the highest compliment I could ever receive 💗💗💗
Its simply amazing that a 50 year old song still elucits sich heartfelt reactions and feelings. The genius that is ronnie van zant
No need to apologize for the emotion. This a beautiful song, with a beautiful message. We should all be so blessed to have a mama, like he had.
Wow!! Crying is GOOD for the SOUL!! Thanks for being vulnerable and authentic. God bless you and your family.
Thanks so much for your comment. God bless you and yours also.
@@inbedwithmusic2130 are you a fan of Jethro Tull by any chance?
Never a need to apologize for honesty.
Thank you 💗
This band was so amazing, their musicians were so good, and the way they could tell a story which hit home for most of us.
Ha, that song still gets me after 30 years of listening to it 👍
God bless you Baby Girl. ❤❤❤
Jess, don’t EVER apologize for how music makes you feel. You let it move you how it moves you.❤
Love you for this. God bless your beautiful soul. ❤️
Hey lady, I am 56 years old. Have heard this song hundreds of times. Have just one son son. I cried along with you.
💗🥰 love to you and your son.
Another Skynyrd song you MUST react to is "Every Mother's son." That one will put a tear in your eye also.
Just a Mom trying to impart wisdom on her only Son. It is a powerful song and as a parent it hits a little harder. Your reaction was beautiful!!
Hi dear Jess... never apologize for your true emotions. It shows me (and all the other subscribers) that you are really into the music and feel every bit of it. You take requests serious and put so much effort into your videos. This alone makes your channel so valuable and beautiful... and this is also a reason, why I just subscribed to this channel - besides the fact that you will react to my Aurora suggestion. I will watch the other reaction videos on this channel as well and I'm sure I will enjoy every moment.
Best wishes from your newest subscriber from Germany : Gerry
Beautiful tears
heard it 1000 times..still gives me chills
Honey, don't apologize for loving your sons and this song. All of us mothers feel this when we hear this song. My husband ask me to play this at his funeral if I were still living when his time was up on this earth and in 2013 it was played at his funeral. He was only 53 when cancer took him from me. Thank you for your reaction. I cried along beside you. Brenda from East Tennessee. USA.
Baby Girl you sit your boys down every chance you get and you tell them this.
Being human is wonderful. 😊
I am 69 and this song does it to me, loved your reaction!! Need to listen to their song ,Was I right or wrong, it's touches me like Simple Man !!
Thank you for watching. I’ve added Was I Right Or Wrong to my list to record, thank you.
It's ok Jess, I've been listening to Lynyrd Skynyrd over 40 years and still get goosebumps and sometimes choked up by the original recordings. They were so deep!. Don't feel like the Lone Ranger. Cheers!
That's the best reaction ever. Heart of GOLD!
Lady you've just touched my heart with your tears and made me cry with you
God bless ya !
💗 thank you, God Bless you too.

👋🏻
No need to apologize, we all tear up at this song. I grew up with this band. My brother gave me their One More From The Road album for my twelfth birthday in 1976. Nothing can replace honest human emotion. This song brought out the love you have for your boys, we understand and we cried with you.
southern rock 70s classic masterpiece...its imposssible to not get emotional listenin to this song
What a beautiful reaction and a loving mother of three boys The power of music!!! Thanks for the true heartfelt reaction.
That was a heartwarming reaction thank you very much for that is obvious that you love your sons
Can’t wait to perform this song for my son. This song never fails to make me tear up
I got goose bumps and got choked up when I first heard this as a kid....I grew up right down the road from Allen Collins and have met several of the guys
Great reaction, as always
