Thank you ☺️ thanks for watching!
= 27.35 kph . UK and USA it's time to switch to metric system
You're lucky to have Kyle & family & friends (we're not all that fortunate). And it's cool that these audaxes help to support your economy, since many participants visit the small shops & cafes.
So true 🫶
Hi Amy, I think worrying about a ride is very common. I’m doing a charity ride soon and I knew I needed to get out and get some practice and I kept finding excuses for not going out (bad weather, strong winds etc) but finally made myself go out on Sunday and the conditions were great although quite chilly but I got back and felt so pleased with myself and on a high for the rest of the day. So stupid as I’m 72 and should know better. Well done to both of you, you work so hard and are an inspiration to others. Amazing distances you cover. The Pinarello sponsorship is so well deserved. Kyle deserves a deal also as he’s a real grafter and obviously a great support to you.
Aww thank you so much, I’m working on getting Kyle sorted 🙌☺️ and ahh massive good luck in your charity ride, so glad you managed to get out and enjoy the ride. Sometimes the hardest part is getting out!
Thanks Amy.
I love Di2. Just the best 😊
Love that particular Assos jersey on you, nice understated & classy design. Besides that, disheveled Amy is still awesome. Also glad Kyle is a staple in the videos -- he's your comical coconspirator.
she is clearly going up in price categories like a rocket. from bikes to clothing.
Thanks so much! And haha yes Kyle is the star ⭐️
Go Amy and Kyle. You both amazing with the distances you are riding. ❤❤
Thank you!
Amy your hands are caused by wind burn ! Great ride enjoyed your banter, keep up the good work b🎉
Are they?! Wow, that surprises me - I have no idea and am not disagreeing - it's great to hear a reason; i was dumbfounded
Yes gloves needed! Thanks so much ☺️
Blooming Nora! I have never seen so many flat roads as on that ride of yours. Good thing you had a bit of a headwind on the way home to keep the cod loins working or you might have fallen asleep 😂
Haha true 😂😂
Wind chafe. A nice pair of light, full-finger gloves is called for
Hi Amy, thanks again for another epic Vlog. Well done to you both. Hope your hand is getting better ❤❤
Thank you!! 😊
Cycling really is the best medicine😊You sure got lucky with the Di2, low battery at the first mile eek! Amazing effort you guys👍The shower after a ride is just pure bliss😁
Thanks so much! Yes it’s the best feeling getting in the comfy clothes after a long ride 🙌
The 50k Audaxes are a thing! Just did my first one last weekend, inspired by you and Kyle. Got a 120km in my sights to celebrate my birthday at the start of the summer. Thanks Amy, stay awesome 👍
Ahh yay! So happy to hear that 🙌 enjoy your birthday 120km ☺️
As always you are both amazing. Great double act and again you make it look easy. That wind was so strong !
Thanks for watching 🫶🫶
Love your cycling adventures, and your happy outlook. You and Kyle have introduced me to Audax riding, doing my first 200k next weekend. Keep up the good work, keep smiling and pushing those pedals.
Ahh thanks so much! It’s so great to hear this, hope you had a great first 200km! ☺️
Well done you two. I spent most of the return leg on my own…and ‘yes’ what a crazy headwind it was. Take care.👍
Thank you!! Ahh that must have been tough on your own! Well done for completing the ride ☺️🙌
That,s a Job Well Done .😀😀 Excellent ride out and a cracking video.
Thank you ☺️🙌
Weĺl done amy you and kyle did great that must have been hard going in that head wind im glad you got back without the di2 failing completely happened to me once . Hope your hands get better quick loving your videos by the way 😊
Thanks so much 🫶 has I was hard! Ohh no hope that doesn’t happen again! 😂
You two are amazing, great miles for sure,my heros...WoW!
Thanks so much!
GREAT VIDEO & HIGHLY INSPIRING! Thank u both!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it ☺️🙌
I had that exact milkshake on Sunday, they are fabulous, great video as always , thanks Amy
They’re the best! Thanks for watching ☺️
amy and kyle your the best mate you nail ITTTTT
Aww thanks!! 🙌
Your face after drinking that mix was priceless LOL. Glad you had nice weather despite the wind. Guess you have to expect that in the Spring though.
It wasn’t nice 😂 yes, at least it wasn’t raining! Thanks for watching ☺️
Sweet potato .... what a good idea. Excellent communicators, you are both inspiring
One of my favourite snacks 🙌 thank you 🫶
Malones Amy...our baby !!! and of course Kyle King of Fish&Chips...amazing ride !!!
You have such a beautiful soul! 🙏 I have a Dogma too! Enjoy your bike they’re special. 👍
Thank you 🫶 enjoy your Dogma rides!!
Well done, Amy & Kyle! I've never done an audax. I'll get round to doing one someday, but motivation is somewhat lacking at the moment.
They’re so fun, hope you enjoy them as much as we do if you do one! & hope your motivation picks up soon 🫶
Amy I can't believe you don't wear gloves ! Full finger when there's a strong cold wind.
Yea I need to remember them next time 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Hi love your videos and your positive vibe. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much! ☺️
Amazing I closely follow this channel is inspirational to my channel
Holly molly what a fantastic pace for that distance 🎉
Thank you ☺️
Fantastic stats on Strava for the ride, especially when your return was into a head wind. Your comment about having a wee (easier for Kyle than you was funny) 🤣
Perhaps it is wrong/ignorant of me, but aren't girls required to take off their top so that they can take their bib-shorts off their shoulders in order to lower their kecks? That all sounds extremely cold! Wind chill is at least as bad as being spotted by a passing motorist! Fiddly, cold, exhibitionist whichever way you are facing - thanks goodness I am male! Somebody needs to invent a female bib-short that has .... ? a flap with velcro or prestuds ? ... that allows for a pee stop without removing any clothing. Surely there is something more convenient and better for women?
Thanks!! 🙌 and haha glad to bring a laugh 😂
I was at Woodhall spa yesterday the memorial to our brave men the 617 squadron is down the road.
Hello Amy,
Another great ride, enjoyable viewing... Insightful words on the up's and downs of life and how cycling helps. I always think we have to have good and bad days otherwise life would be just vanilla... the trick is to have more good days than bad one's, it's great that you have found cycling to ensure that is the case. "Tallywacker" I have never heard that before - lol. Great average MPH.
Take care.
Paul,,
Thanks!! Glad you enjoyed the video ☺️ hope you have lots of good days
Another super vid Amy & Kyle noticed you in the new assos gear that's my choice of cycling apparel, I have GTO C2 nothing else only the best, yes you did extremely well with the DI2 - I have SRAM ASX I also carry a spare battery as they are only small. Is the Assos a new sponsor? - I also get swollen hands/ fingers mainly on long walks never on the bike - not sure of the cause think it might be bloody pressure and warm & cold - put your hands under a cold tap and they go back to normal. U2 fair eat some fodder I'll say, for long rides I normally carbo load the night B4 chicken/pasta a BIG bowl - and take one flap jack with me for 165k or 103 miles... Hope to do my first coastal ride of the year on Sunday blackpool/Fleetwood.... Keep up the awesome vids AMY & KYLE 🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴🚴
Thank you!! I wish! they are the best bibs I've found for comfort so far :D thanks for the tips and hope you enjoyed your costal ride if you were able to do it :)
Bless you….keep going 🌷
There is a study about similar symptoms: "Edema-like symptoms are common in ultra-distance cyclists and driven by overdrinking, use of analgesics and female sex - a study of 919 athletes. Single cases of peripheral edema have been reported in ultratriathletes and ultramarathoners, mainly in the context of excess fluid intake" One author is Fiona Kolbinger, winner of Transcontinental Race some years ago.
Lovely watching you and Kyle knocking out the miles and documenting your food choices. Wondering how long it will be before you cave in to the KM and switch to audax-friendly distances :)
Great ride! You got me into Audax’s this year. Third one in June and 200km. I do think exercise is great for mental health but when I start to get tired in the saddle I do find stress can creep up on me 😂 like a slow puncture.
Ahh it’s great to hear you’ve started audax!! Hope you enjoy it as much as us 🙌🙌 haha there’s always hard points on a long ride, but by the end I’m usually glad I’ve done it 😂
That's the main draw back of an out and back route . Like when you get a strong rising headwind for the leg back home. :) . Roll on summer
Can't just whip out yer tallywhacker like Kyle can made me LOL
New sub 🙌
Haha!! Welcome to the channel! thank you :D
Watching the event start HQ, I think it was the halfway control on my first ever 600km audax. It too was run by Alfreton CTC and was called “South then North” in 2010. Very flat if I remember but windy and super hot as it was right in the middle of summer. Since then I’ve done an SR every year as a basis for all my long distance cycling. Well done on your rides A&K.
Awesome work on the SRs!! Thanks for watching
23;23 Taliwacker 😀 your so funny great vid
Lol'es when Kyle said i am still having the pie! What a legend!
😂😂
Great video Amy, more amazing content. Love all the updates and stops at petrol stations to refuel! Reminded my of Indian Pacific Wheel Race style lol.
Can you see how many shifts you made on the DI2 this ride? Would be interesting to know how much a low battery will give?
Thank you!!
I’d say at least 150 shifts ☺️
@@amy.cycling.adventures Did you consciously limit changes for the entire ride? That's decent for low battery!
i love the endura womens bibs with the zip bum, makes have a wee break so much easier :)
Great ride! Gotta moisturize for those windy days to keep the wrinkles away 😅
I slapped a load on when I got home 😂😂
What a great effort in the wind you two. 17mph average is good although as you say it doesn’t matter what the average speed is. You need start mentoring people with mental health issues, some of your words are spot on and would work for others. Look at the sky, it’s always there and you’re always underneath it. That statement would go a long way to grounding and help people cope. Look forward to the next one
Thank you 🫶 I was a mental health nurse for 3 years, I do miss it sometimes! But I don’t miss the stress it caused me 😅
I was literally shouting ´it’s behind you!´ when I saw the pepperami in the fridge over your shoulder! I did my first audax last week, 60k but would do 100 next time!
😂! Ahh well done!! Hope you enjoyed it ☺️🙌
@@amy.cycling.adventures Loved it - can't wait for the next one!
Hands will swell up like that when you have an allergic reaction to something you have eaten. I had some bad prawns once which did exactly the same to me .
Good won Amy, I don't like the wind 🎉🐑🐑.
My hands gets really swollen when I ride in the cold with no gloves. I assume it's the body reaction to cold. It sends blood to the extremities to protect it. Anyway, great ride you guys once again, Chapeau!!!
Just a thought - I have to be careful with some cycling food, powders and drink additives. I come out in a rash and get a headache and it’s taken years to find the right gels etc. It’s probably nothing to do with your swollen hands but worth keeping an eye on any new flavourings and additives etc.
You did the 312 before you did the 312. Nice and on a low battery, that is even more impressive.
I kinda like the 'Bush Baby' look at the end! A lot
😂😂
It’s the pepperami box staring at you from the fridge as you try to choose replacement crisps for me 😂
😂😂
My local(ish) lanes! Especially around Woodhall Spa. Actually took my dogs to Chapel beach the day before you rode this. Would have been amazing to bump into you both. If you’re ever in Horncastle call into ‘just one more bike’ cafe - it’s amazing.
The cake there is amazing....as are the dogs
Ahh sorry to have missed you! Ohhh I’ll look out for that cafe thanks ☺️
glad you didnt get lost in mansfield 😅
Karl love him. Rebel without a cause😂
Aaaah you see.... the hills of the Peaks might be a real test, but here in the flatlands of Lincolnshire and East Yorkshire, its WIND central....
Totally agree - from a Boston lass.
Yes I’d take the hills over the wind!! Hard work’
17.6mph?? Jesus - well done! I'm knackered averaging 16mph for a 100km. KUDOS
Thank you!! We were Knick-knacked at the end! Monday was a hard day at work was still recovering 😂😂
“I love pie” Kyle has become my food hero
😂😂
Good job! Admire your grit and spunk! Could you tell any difference in your performance, comfort, cadence etc. after going to shorter cranks. Thanks and have a great summer!
Thank you!! Yes a lot more comfy for me & makes me want to spin my legs at a higher cadence, which is good for me because I do tend to grind at a slow cadence usual 😂 have a great summer too!
Hot damn you were in my town where ya got that milkshake thingy....literally 2 mins from my house.....Flat out to skeg and Chapel is always windy sadly
Ahhh! Should have come down for a milkshake & sweet potato 😂
Looks like wind burn on your hands Amy, gentle moisturizer should work. Wear gloves in conditions like that
I prefer hills to a head-wind any time.. at least on a hill at some point you get to the top and go down again !
I just got some new rehydration stuff delivered, I did think to test it at home today before Sundays 200k though😁
Good idea!! Hope it’s nice ☺️
Finished my first ever Tour of Bristol Charity bike 65K 41 Millon iss. Hope to do a big rides over the summer.
But my sport is sailing.
Massive well done!! Hope you enjoy your summer rides & sailing!
You are so badass!!
"Whack out your tallywhacker" Never heard that before 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Cat wee? I nearly passed my Diet Coke through my nose when you said that! 🤣
😂😂
Loving the new assos outfit Amy 👍 and could you tell us the name/brand of the electrolyte that tasted so rank so we don’t experience drinking cat piss😁
Thank you! Haha ohhh I can’t don’t want to get in trouble! but I will say the one in my other bottle that I like is Veloforte & the one Kyle likes the most is OTE ☺️
@@amy.cycling.adventures thanks for the reply and recommendations 👍
Seems odd to hear you are having a pie and not a curry 😂 Monster efforts you guys make it look so easy
😂😂
What a challenge to ride with a low battery Di2.
I think you have Reynaud's in your hands
I do have Reynauds 😅
@@amy.cycling.adventures I'd recommend a set of sealskinz heated gloves, they are expensive but once you ahv ethem, you'll never go back.
Can you imagine how fast Amy would be if someone dosed her up with caffeine!
Don’t think Kyle would cope with me if I had caffeine 😂😂
"It's a bit of an animal". The clouds are called stratocumulus.
Everyone thinks Lincolnshire is flat they forget the wolds 😂
Yep..... Redhill, Telford, ruckland........not flat
😂😂
Bet the electrolyte was Nuun :)
Not heard of that brand actually 😅
Most importantly… did your hands shrink back to normal?
Yes the next day 🙌
What an absolutely incredible achievement, I’m building up my rides, my goal is 100 miles, I’ll never reach your level lol. Fantastic content 👍🚴♂️
Amy has "elite" fitness 😉 according to her cycling coach and "science"
Aww thanks!! Don’t doubt yourself 🫶 massive good luck for your 100 miles! ☺️
low battery that would just be a mental challenge🤣🤣🤣🤣
It was haha 😂😂
Swollen hands are common enough in ultra events.
Eating every 30 miles? or did you mean every 30 minutes?
30 miles but we’re all different ☺️ I tend to eat more often than this on longer rides
You shouldn't laugh at Kyle for dropping his scotch egg...you should be egging him on Amy!
😂😂
water retention perhaps sweetie.

The PureWick™ Female External Catheter allows for simple, non-invasive urine output management in female patients. Using low pressure wall suction, the PureWick™ Female External Catheter wicks urine away from the patient and into a designated collection canister.
You have to watch Monty Python Weak Bladder Marathon. Shades of Kyle...
Cat wee electrolytes 😂
😂
17.6 mph average speed? over that distance and elevation? wow, that is more than impressive. u sure thats correct? bonkers.
We were happy with it 🙌 yes Strava link in description ☺️
@@amy.cycling.adventures can you guys make a group right once in zwift for people outside your area? Maybe a climb like alpe du zwift would be fun :-)
Those swollen hands may not just be wind burn. They look like a mild allergic reaction. Take a look at what you ate as your body may not like one of the ingredients. There were lots of ultra processed foods you ate along the way. Carry an antihistamine in your medical
Kit in case it happens again.
I say we blame the nasty electrolyte for the hands
Haha that’s a good idea 😂
100 miles into a headwind? Terrifying.
It was hard 😂 a post ride curry was motivation!
Electronic shifting. No thanks.
Amy - This is why I refuse to switch over to electronic shifting and that's what the bike industry has been pushing everyone to for several years now.
I mean it was her mistake that she probably won't make again & it still lasted pretty much the entire ride on low battery which is pretty good going.
Di2 is fantastic and I'll never go back to mechanical if I have any choice in the matter. It's easy enough to check the level and to charge it. 🤷♂️
Keep it "analog" for me. I have enough electronic devices to charge, and I do not want to add my bike to that list.
Let’s be about right
I don’t think Amy would have switched to electronic shifting if she was the one forking out the £2500 it cost for dura-ace di2🥴
@@christopherthomas3403 I have never charged my gear cables 🤣
Impressive distance given you are relatively new to cycling. I think any outdoor activity is great for the mind.
Thank you!! And yes being outdoors is so good for you 🌳🍃
Can't beat chippy chips 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
How to Use a Straight Catheter for Self-Catheterization (Female): Care Instructions
Overview
Self-catheterization is a way to completely empty your bladder when you need to. You put a thin tube called a catheter into your bladder. This lets the urine flow out.
You may use a catheter if you have nerve damage, a problem with your urinary tract, or diseases that weaken your bladder muscles. Emptying your bladder regularly can prevent urine leaks during the day. It can also prevent kidney damage from blocked urine or infections.
Some urinary catheters are left in the bladder for as long as needed. But an intermittent, or straight, urinary catheter is taken out right after it is used. Straight catheters come in different lengths and types. Some types are used one time only. Others can be cleaned and reused. Your doctor or nurse will let you know what type you will need and where to get supplies.
Replace the catheter as instructed or before it wears out. Disposable catheters can be thrown away after each use.
You can empty your bladder every 4 to 6 hours, or as your doctor recommends. It takes practice to learn how to place the catheter. It may be uncomfortable at first, but it should not cause pain. If your doctor asks you to measure your urine, you can catch it in a container that is given to you. Note the amount of urine, the date, and the time.
It's very important to be clean when you use the catheter. This helps prevent infection. Keep your hands, the catheter, and the pubic area around your urethra clean. (When you urinate, the urethra carries urine from the bladder to the outside of the body. The urethra is just above the opening to the vagina.)
How can you care for yourself at home?
When you need to empty your bladder, try to urinate first, if you can, before you use the catheter.
That's a really long ride. What do you carry in your tailfin for such long rides?
I had all the bike spares; inner tubes, multi-tool, pump, tyre glider, chain links, chain link extractor. Then some spare layers, emergency toilet roll!, waterproof, lots of snacks ☺️ & Kyle’s layers too
Congratulations on another epic Audax! Keep up the great work and keep inspiring us to push past our limits. You are both great cycling ambassadors for the UK. Well done.
Thanks so much ☺️
