"Be careful what you wish for" is my sentiments also. This time last year I was all for an upgrade in the GK position heading in to 2023/24 season. Now, looking forward to 2024/25 season, I shudder to think of what our recruitment team will come up with. That's if they do come up with anyone, they might just go with Siegrest!
Another unique feature of Joe’s keeping (for a tall, big name keeper) was how he was anchored to the goal line for corners and crosses. He mostly treated the six yard box with the trepidation of entering shark infested waters. He was the influential leader and “Steady Eddie” we needed, especially in his first year. A great career, a real pro and seems a first class guy.
Well it's ONLY given the new Manager in the summer even more work to do & as if he didn't have enough with the TEN duds we bought this season & him seriously struggling big time to get ANY of them oot the door for good as they sit & smile at him with their FIVE YEAR contracts sticking oot of their back pockets & now he's got to find at least two new goalkeepers as well, so never mind the one huge big complete mess Lennon left Ange, Brenda is leaving an even bigger one huge big complete mess for his successor...
As an accountant for some 30 odd years I thought it was basic economics that companies with a cash rich balance sheet but no investment plan were ripe for takeover by investors who could see a better ROI than cash sitting in the bank account. Winning a two horse race to secure a minimum 60 million windfall from the CL comes to mind .
Great to have an adult, knowledgeable discussion about the way the club is run instead of the thoroughly puerile and ignorant 'sack the board' guff we frequently get elsewhere?
Hart was seen as an 'emergency buy' when Ange signed him, I remember that well. One would have thought a search for a longer-term and younger, better keeper would have started that season when the alternatives were Bain and Barkas. But no, we stood still thinking we could just get by and did nothing as we always do!
I think its a wise decision from Joe to retire at the end of the season but I do worry that it will be yet another experienced vocal player leaving our squad. I hope in the summer whatever happens we bring at least two experienced players with leadership qualities.... which is unlikely given our recent track record.
How do you trigger a hostile takeover? Stupidity, irresponibility, lack of ambition or just simple stagnation. Evacuation economics. As a 56 year old kid from a council estate in Scotland I can remember running around the playground at my RC highschool with my fellow Tims shouting -"Open the biscuit tin". Same as it ever was...
I think that joe hart catch stat is artificially low. While i think he punches from corners when he could catch too much, if him letting the ball drop in a controlled manner counts as a parry that isnt a good metric because he prefers that over trying to catch higher balls and doesnt give up rebound goals
I suppose that will mean Scott Bain as first choice next year. For anyone interested Jack Butland already has a club and is, thus, no longer available.
For me Joe Hart is just like Ange who signed him no offence to joe, two signings just to fill a gap when we waited too long to sign Eddie Howe, Ange was a revelation at Celtic, but for me Ange is a Psychologist he could talk any player into believing they were the new Ronaldo or Maradona that is his gift, that's why he was so good with the media, do you not remember when Ange signed he once said you will be surprised how long I'm here for, even now down in the EPL opposition teams have already worked out how to play against his system, all out attacking game is great to watch but you must have a defence, especially in Europe when they hit you on the counter, for me it reminded of something Kevin Keegan once said, if they score 3 we will score 4, I just think that's Ange's philosophy on the modern game. Anyway back to Celic V Motherwell its pure and simple we need 3 points, we need to play 3 5 2, play Iwata send CalMac forward, once again we have a million wingers under brendan and not one of them can take a man on and reach the bye line and cross a ball into the box, play young Rocco, why build new training facilities to bring the young players through if they wont give them game time. anyhow ive had my old rant for the day. Cheers guys for another great breakdown, just hope to feck Celtic don't break down again on Sunday.
Celtiç is playing with fire regarding the palestine question. Leaving aside the rights and wrongs, this, given the political and financial context, actually constitutes a largely unrealized existential question.
Lindsell (train) globall equity have been buying up shares lately and are still small 18.6% against Desmond 34.7% but I can see Dermott getting digs from other of his proper investments mines etc
It's a scenario that I have voiced over the past 4/5 and even upto a year giving the lack of inveatment on the park, (all projects to turn revenue ) , plc clyb, profitable, £100 mill + , parkhead, lennoxtown, barrowfield, hotel planning imminent, spl, cups cl money merchandise and. don't forget our deposit from us the captive audience and don't they know it the board, at present the fans have no say that has got to change with the obvious nepotism at the , its wirse than the kelly and white days and we all know what happened there
It's thirty years ago next month that Dermot Desmond & Fergus McCann put in millions & millions of their own money to save Celtic Football Club from bankruptcy & if they hadn't done so, there would quite literally be no Celtic Football Club to speak of in the here & now, apart from in a historical context, like Belfast Celtic & so just to trot out some inane fatuous drivel that he's ''greedy'' when I know you just must be far better than that....
John Fallon really was ''a walking nightmare'' way back in the day, Evan Williams too, Dennis Connachan was something else, Roy Baines NOT much better & the joke at the time for nearly all of Jock Stein's tenure at Celtic Park, was that we had a goalkeeper for every day of the week apart from a Saturday!!!!
Joe hart has won 5 trophies so far with Celtic and to be honest if it wasn’t for him this league would already be over for us☘️
"Be careful what you wish for" is my sentiments also.

Remember when we thought replacing Joe Hart was one of the bigger problems Celtic faced? Those were the days!
I'd love to see Celtic set up a testimonial against Man City for Hart, he deserves it. Hail Hail love your channel Bhoys🇮🇪

best pod cast on my laptop...hail hail..

Ange didn't sign him the board bid just like ccv and Jota.
Ange has more floops than good signings.
They were all failers
What a fascinating listen that was 👏🏼
Enda show short this week I always enjoy you's Bhoys stat's
Great listen again...thanks!
He is still best keeper we have by a mile
Please Lord don't tell me the Lawells or Strachens have a nephew who is a goalkeeper.
😂
hart settled the team, if you remember what is was like before he came. i think he will hard and expensive to replace him.
Top quality as usual lads, shuddering at what sort of GK our recruitment team will dig out next season 😂 😅
Terrifies me to think of some of the replacements this recruitment team could be looking at for Hart. If last 3 windows are anything to go by
Probably some cheap 1 million dollar option.
First time ive listened to this . Very good
Alan looks like a. , measured, calculated, devious bond villan.
Damn, the cover is blown! But thanks for noticing 😄
No, no, no Martin. He has the face of an angel. A beautiful angel.
@@tinamac2380 Ach, thanks mum!
Sorry James...Barkas....I never saw him make ONE decent save ..there is absolutely no comparison. .oh wait he could play better with his feet 😮
God bless Joe Hart.

This would be an opportune time for rangers to slip up against Hearts and Kilmarnock.
But most sadly they're not going to....
Otherwise known as rangers b and ranger c 🤷♂️Doubt it
Any sale might lead to a test of our collective morals and like most clubs fans, if we’re promised success will we water our morals down.

Hi - this is in relation to saves only not fielding the ball from corners and crosses etc
I suppose that will mean Scott Bain as first choice next year. For anyone interested Jack Butland already has a club and is, thus, no longer available.

Why is everyone leaving??
James reminds me of Lance Armstrong

return on investment dont give fan shareholders shit .but board take thier dividents .fkin joke
Unfortunately Kelly had his best game of the season at celtic Park
Hope so for Desmond not wanted .go play ure golf leave club to fans take Rogers too
Left stage enter Bain
Joe hart: "it's my last tour, and i dont give a feck any more. Rodgers is a nhumpty ."
Barkas back
He would only cost about £5 million...
Lindsell (train) globall equity have been buying up shares lately and are still small 18.6% against Desmond 34.7% but I can see Dermott getting digs from other of his proper investments mines etc
Lindsell Train are a 2 man operation mainly with a bad rep - not enthused
Celtic for sale ,what when how. Have you just made that up 😅

desmond will never sell hes greedy

real madrid are better than Milan. mental thinking Barkas is on par witrh Hart haahahahaha. he also said Bain is on par with Hart.
A good keeper settles the whole defence,Hart’s a walking nightmare
John Fallon really was ''a walking nightmare'' way back in the day, Evan Williams too, Dennis Connachan was something else, Roy Baines NOT much better & the joke at the time for nearly all of Jock Stein's tenure at Celtic Park, was that we had a goalkeeper for every day of the week apart from a Saturday!!!!
this is why 70 mill in bank up the price .some arabs coming in shortly .at least we can fly our flags
As much chance as ''some arabs coming in shortly'' as us winning the Champions League next season...
Thanks
