I think Shaun Maloney would be a good shout for the DOF recruitment head. great international experience and is now doing down the league in England very varied experience football journey he also knows what it takes to be a celtic player.
I was looking for a different type of pod to acsom and you guys nailed it for me, I loved what Alan brought to acsom and that’s why I came over and I will be a regular now hh
I agree when he plays that inverted role he offers a lot to the team going forward. He is vulnerable at the back especially in Europe but if he wasn't he would be with a better team.
@@Paddy--T33 Why is our captain still here then ? he could easily play in the EPL, maybe Taylor and Cal like playing for Celtic. Both will be financially secure, they can win trophy's and get to play CL or Europa, the only drawback playing for Celtic is our league.
Lawwell going at this time in the season is a BIG statement. I now expect more big changes in the summer. However the main priority right now is to win that league before we even think about what happens in the summer.
“Best in class” is absolutely correct. Now they have done this, and if one or two serious changes are made within our wider “back room” staff before the end of the season, I could stomach losing the title. No more of the same, please
People seem to have forgotten that Mooy kept O'Riley oot the team for chunks of last season. Withoot Mooy & with Hatate injured most of the season, we have been very short of midfield options this season.
mentioning ange in dispatches re lawwells exit smells like buck passing , there is an alternative narrative , and that is lawwell executed on anges recruitment strategy , and ange would have achieved the performance upside in the recruitment he wanted , and rodgers simply isnt good enough to get the desired performance gains. as i have said from the begining , hiring rodgers was going after low hanging fruit , and celtic ran the risk of inheriting leciesters problems , and guess what , thats exactly whats happened. jj is spot on about celtics broader player recruitment problems, in that everybody has the same pile of data , and unless someone at celtic has come with a new set of correlations in the data to give celtic a competive advantage in finding unrealised value , it comes down to budgets, and unfortunately celtic are in a reverse auction at the fish market , and celtics the fish , and talent with speed have options. a skilled manager like ange could probably get unrealised value from the spend , but with rodgers this is still an open question. despite all of this , even under ange , and as is now , there doesnt seem to be the appropriate benchamrking of performance metrics in the recuitment. if you havent proved that you have or capable of having a top speed of atleast 34 kms an hour , and generate x amount of watts of output per 90 minutes , you shouldnt be getn a contract. it still amazes me when i try and predict epl match outcomes , and i total up the win loss ratios of the starting 11 and the bench in terms of performance metrics , rather than form or fame , how good a predictor of outcomes it is . keep up the great work guys
We need a board room renewal with modern ambitious people who know how to run a football club. We know the Celtic board can run a good business but the football side of it should take priority.
The Rangers fans are having a mini meltdown after today’s shock defeat & that’s lovely. We’ve got a massive chance tomorrow to regain top spot, so I don’t want to see a return to dropping points & poor performance. Time for Rodgers to deliver a must win result & play like champions..🍀🍀
Yeah, ML had a specific type of player to target and it was a limited criteria. He offered BR 7 of these players and BR refused 5 of them. BR must have told the Board that Lawwell is not working. This change should be for the better.
The last three transfer windows prove someone, or some people were not good at recruitment. Ange and Brendan both involved there along with Lawwell, someone had to go.
How do we source these guys in the first place. Do we need to go to a management team to support our board, who have not shown any inclination to go down this road.
Clearly they’ve been given a remit to strengthen the squad in January and failed. It’s encouraging to hear at least there’s been a reaction. £60million champions league money not to be taken lightly but we failed miserably.
The only podcast where we win 7-1 and it's not sunshine and rainbows 😀. I do get it about Yang - he can be Jekyll and Hyde but maybe he's learning something and improving. I also like iwata but wasn't he playing in the Killie game at home and disappeared 2nd half. I think etims said it best - it's going to the less worser team that wins this. Rangers dropped points today so hope springs eternal
Pre-Lawwell recruitment was as bad as Lawwell recruitment, with Lawwell gone will post-Lawwell recruitment simply revert back to pre-Lawwell recruitment 😂
Yang bad example. His trajectory is exactly what you want to see from a bargain project pick young player. There's about 7 or 8 others however that were pointless recruits.

Taylor doesn’t get enough credit for what he brings to the game
I agree when he plays that inverted role he offers a lot to the team going forward. He is vulnerable at the back especially in Europe but if he wasn't he would be with a better team.

When GT moves into the forward midfield area he adds a huge amount to the play but he needs a setup that allows him to do that
@isotopia7681 which he has. Did you watch the games he was out ? He was missed
Agree 100%
Fantastic podcast lads, great to hear a high level analytical from a Celtic perspective

Motherwell have set us up nicely for tomorrow ! Lets take full advantage of this slip by them.
Alan is spot on,lets hope the next head of recruitment has a background and the qualifications for the job unlike Marl Lawwell

popular opinion is Ange favored Mooy because of nepotism to the detriment of O'Riley's development
O'Riley developed invisibility again this afternoon if that's the point yir struggling to make.

I couldn't agree more with you cjc 19:07
Without running a good business they can't make the football the priority. But i know what you're trying to say.
I hope so!

HAIL HAIL lads 🍀

Worrying that he said yes to Kuhn, who were the other 5?
The last three transfer windows prove someone, or some people were not good at recruitment. Ange and Brendan both involved there along with Lawwell, someone had to go.
Kyogo is still by far our best striker, playing in a similar way as we did against Dundee, he will score plenty.
We need a head of recruitment and a great scouting crew in place if we're to even begin to succeed in the CL and match. Brendan's ambitions!
Surely some one has been lined up
How do we source these guys in the first place. Do we need to go to a management team to support our board, who have not shown any inclination to go down this road.
Perhaps Ange and Mark Lawwell worked well together. But when Ange left, the training wheels came off and M. Lawwell struggled mightily.
Bit harsh on Kelly to call him poor. He was good yesterday against Rangers and wasn't at fault for the Celtic goals .
he's bottom of the league in SPFL for Goals Saved Above Average at -0.15 and save% of 65%
The difference....two full backs and wingers playing well
Clearly they’ve been given a remit to strengthen the squad in January and failed. It’s encouraging to hear at least there’s been a reaction. £60million champions league money not to be taken lightly but we failed miserably.
The only man opinion that counts at Celtic Park is DD in the end
IdaHo!
Job now available for Alan & James. One thing for sure, both would do much better than Lawwell & the dud one.
Is idah disrupting the defence more than Kyogo?
He’s scoring plenty of goals & that’s what matters now. He’s also big & strong, so he isn’t bullied by defenders. Great to have Kyogo as backup.

None of us know what goes on in the background of the football team. Let's hope we get top people in this role. Are none of you looking for a new gig.
Nt an easy job if you have preset conditions…ie. 19-23 year old, preferably Internationsl and
Told you Idah would come good
A lot of talk about referees but again both goals coming from Scales being unable to clear his lines from relatively unchallenged headers.

😂😂😂
You guys are pretty negative
