R.I.P. Scott, he is one of the reasons i picked up bass guitar. sad stuff
The most heartfelt Death composition, in my opinion. Moves me to tears, in all honesty. Too much soul in the melodies and harmony..
1:05 incredible.
6:00 simply outstanding!!! RIP :(
I LOVE THIS SONG! Why do no other metal bands play with this intensity, controlled technicality and emotion...why why why???!!!!
Chuck's solo almost has me in tears. So haunting, and so so beautiful. One of the best metal solo's ever.
There are no mistakes in music, every note has a purpose even if isn't a pleasant one to hear. Does someone tell the artist witch color he should paint his next portrait in? But on that note chuck is awesome he really understood what it meant to be a musician and how to really delve into the creative aspect of songwriting and interpreting his own ideas through sound.
my favourite death metal voice....
That bassist looks like the singer from Dream Theater xD
Damn this solo is awesome. Best Chuck solo imo.
R.I.P Chuck..on of the best death metal bands ever..
this song has the best solo one of the most underrated songs
Probably my favorite song from death.
Every time I hear the bass solo I am amazed, and when the guitar joins the bass in the end, it feels like being trapped in a tornado of darkness (lol I'm pretty much overeacting but this is how it really feels). I got the bassline by ear and I'll try to upload a cover soon :D
2:21 (Shannon Hamm) Awesome Lead
Legendary band, legendary song, I've seen only this video one on live version so thanks for upload whoever did this.
Goddamn, that solo is like a story in itself. Takes me to a wonderful place every time I hear it.
Aguante Death!!!
Chuck Schuldiner dec. 13th 2001 // dec. 13th 2011.
" You're gone but what remains eternally lives."
Everyday is a Chuck's day, everyday is a good day to celebrate Him.
Thanks Chuck for everything you've done, it's simply beautiful to live with your music around. My heart goes out to the Schuldiner's family and friends.
" Missing you always/loving you forever/ forgetting you never"
best concert i've ever been, that night was amazing!!
The most sensual Death's song... We always love you CHUCK!!! Rest In Piece ...
one the better songs of death...I didn't heard it live before...fantastic
well that solo is just something...comes straight from the heart.
R.I.P. CHUCK!
i believe these guys werent in it for the music but for the thrill of just being able to express yourself through music and they had very deep ideas about life...
makes me wanna cry, pure beauty..
Epic solo by Hamm. Probably his best lead ever (at least on the album with those harmonies) and the only time on TSOP where he kinda outdoes Chuck lol. Magnificent lead. Love this song
Master of the Masters!!!!!
DAMN THIS SOLO ROCKS!!!
Same! I really want to see "Bite the Pain" live too.
playlist awesome *-*
this is the most technical song of "death" I've ever listened.
r.i.p. chuck!!
The BEST solo of any death song. Including Chuck's solo's. A close second would be the Story to Tell solo.
que detallista eres Oo Simplemente me imprecionas ,,!,,
I didn't know they played this live... possibly my favorite solo of all time.
legendary
chloosing the BEST line up everytime for what his music was
RIP Chuck the beter metal guitar hero !
@OmniscientVirtuosity totally agree broone of my all times favorites solos in the genre along with most of Bill Steer's solos in Carcass'Necroticism album.
This solo enters like a musical hurrycane...
the chuck solo is amazing T_T
r.i.p chuck schuldiner
Oh my...
best death's song ever
I see this song for the 1st time on live show
I WAS THERE! RIP CHUCK
This sounds stupidly good.
chuck is the man that solo at about 3:15 was sick , i loved the pinched notes near the end if anyone noticed it
to play this is very hard...but to sing at the same time OO omg^^
@EVEROSFP1 For sure dude... I remember when I first heard it when the album came out I was like that's easily the best lead on the album and one of the best since the ITP album. It's just how those little harmonies enhance the original lines and how well Shannon's vibrato is on this lead. + the sweeps at the end just rule. And the way it perfectly goes into Chucks solo is great too.
monumental...
Fucking love the ending!
That closing riff though..
best death song
fucking epic!
Chuck Schuldiner - Paul Masvidal - Steve di Giorgio - Sean Reinert. Definitely the best lineup of all time.
chuck r.i.p :(
i would do anything to be at this concert
Yeah they had the best guitar harmonies and the work done, they were 'perfect' guitarists for each other.
EL MONUMENTAL ESTABA REPLETO 7.000 METALEROS Y EL CARTEL ERA:DORSO, INCANTATION, CANNIBAL Y DEATH.
@EVEROSFP1 Particularly the harmonized scale at 2:24-2:26 Epic...
wow i thought chuck wrote that solo that shannon played that was fucking awsome
do you also feel it stirring in your heart? It becomes like a shallow lake.. a pool of water..
@frankriley17 they're hipnotized with this kickass music man, there's no other explication :)
this song is great ! ReAD THe TeXt
me too
thats the thing of live gigs, bands are playing songs faster then on the CD's \,,/
and chuck schuldiner - andy laroque - gene hoglan - steve digiorgio
Aguante Death ctm!!
...Y LA UNICA...
It would be amazing to one day meet shannon hamm and jam a bit with him :P
tienes el video completo
5:59 is SO FUCKING UNFAIR. i wish i could've been born a few years earlier to see them live =/
first time shannon hamm has impressed me
Dude they had to because they had limited time it sucks tho because if they were playing a gig with me id give them my time ... R.I.P time
@wastedwasted3 .. he may have been showing signs of his brain cancer.. it was only about a year later that he was diagnosed... it was in his brain stem...
Escuxala del sound of perseverance ps :D
i donno they were all killer songs. i favoured this, flesh and the power it holds, voice of the soul, and story to tell and bite the pain, the whole album is so killer though, all genius works of art.
@PullThePlug88 I understand what you're talking about dude. That riff that starts just before Rick Rozz's and Chuck' s leads. We all know the one. Young people today associate the word "breakdown' to mean deathcore/mallcore/metalcore nu-metal shit... I never looked at it that way. I always viewed it as a drastic change of pace in an up-tempo song. A breakdown would occur when they would go into a very slow usually heavy riff section. It's not a derogatory term. Or at least shouldn't be
Wish i could learn to scream like that!! HELP?
@Thedildafour it wasn't a mistake, chuck didn't make mistakes... it was a calculated change in tone hehe
dammit !! WHAT A FUCKING SETLIST !! OH MY GOD !! would have been perfect for me if there had been misanthrope .. anyways ... R.I.P Godfather Chuck
Shannon was actually good friends with the guys from Pantera and was known to ooutshred Dimebag, believe it or not.
lol all of them :p
Did Chuck write the first solo with all the sweeps and the other guy just plays it or did the other guy write the solo?
LOVE DEATH! lol
That's a very good "band argument" for people who says metal is all the same all the time: blasting and nothing more. Just listen to them - fucking complex music.
No kidding, i don't know if that makes me want to quit playing guitar or to try harder.
Hmm... didnt know that... I thought Chuck wrote most of em...
nope - he says "I grip them tight and hope"
listen closely and watch his mouth
but he did fuck up the guitar at 2:15-2:16 (he hit the wrong note)
Hmm actually I meant the solo from To Forgive Is To Suffer -_-
@fetusjuice Chuck didn't do a lot of sweeping. That's all Shannon. Chuck swept occasionally but he seemed to prefer rapid fire alternate picking.
Sweeping is kind of over used these days. I can admit I tend to over do it sometimes too.
setlist*
