No but if you have a save from before the mission and don't mind losing progress you can go back and work up to the mission again and it will work I just did it on Xbox. I had all the satchels and camp upgrades but lost it all just for this horse lol
It didnt work for me i couldnt lock on to any of the horses once prompted to approach the ranchers (Edit) It was just for the black Arabian, not sure why, maybe because I rode it when i had to lasso it after it escapes the pack
@@burritobowl0190 no not like that . U have to hold L1 , then go to horse using R1 , then continue to feed it until the horse symbol appear on map . Hope this helps .
Yeah I know, I started to include it in the video to compare but it wasn’t significant enough of a difference to me. You still have to feed it multiple times
Confirmed. I assumed carrots worked the best and it was taking forever. Went to one peppermint and it was done. 1 sugar cube after to move it to temporary horse. Probably would've been super quick had I had more of them

This horse is a Turkoman, which is a very wonderful horse. John's horse Rachel, in the epilogue is a unique seal brown Thoroughbred. She's the only one like it in the game. The "B" brand on Cerberus will disappear as soon as you sleep, log out or stable it. Hell, I've had it disappear after fast traveling during one play through.
Hell yeah. I just started chapter 3 but will do this whenever I get to the mission. Also kind of want the fox trotter but wish there were more horse slots in the stable
This is SO much easier than the other videos showing you climbing into the stable stall. Got him last night and he's lovely, much nicer than my three Arabians, which make Arthur look like he's riding a Whippet. Thank you!
that way is not harder, and it works every time. this method sometimes fails and you’ll have to restart the mission and do it all over again if you failed
This still works, it hasn’t been patched yet. For anyone who has tried before and didn’t get the feed nor pat prompt you’re not supposed get it, instead hold the L1 button (on the ps4) when you’re near the horse and you’ll get the option between weapon, item and horse. Select horse and that’s when you will be able to brush and feed it.
Still works on PS5 😁 just keep feeding and brushing it until level 1 bonding, go back to this place after the mission ends, mount the horse and put the saddle on it in a stable. I’m so happy to have this beautiful horse, Arthur deserves a real steed.
One of the things I like the most about Turkomans is that they're big horses, making Arthur look that much more like a real cowboy, deadly and handsome.
My favorite horse. When the game first came out I used to ride back and forth for what seemed like hours trying to get it to spawn at the horse glitch spot outside of saint denis. This method is quicker and it's something to look forward to before everything starts going to hell at the end of chapter 3.
About 40 days ago I did this glitch, in a different way, I entered the stable through the back window, before talking to the NPC, I fed the horse until the bond was created. GG...In time, the first fall we never forget

Thanks for the great vids. Your vids are directly the cause of the following. Doing a replay and just onto Chapter 3 and had intended on getting it. The mission came up and was on my way and I ran across the racer with the brindle thoroughbred. Raced her, won, hogtied her, grabbed her horse and switched saddles. Lost a Few Spotted Appaloosa back at camp. Headed to the mission and did the stable feeding trick on the Turkoman. So easy. Lost my Andalusan in that process. I was prepared to lose them though. I didn't think they suited Arthur anyway. Both horses are the best I've come across, given stats and staying calm, and suited to the character. That Turkoman has huge health. Stabled I have Hosea's Shire, the stolen dappled from Painted Sky theft, and my Dapple that came with the game. I sell the trotter from Chapter 1 because of Sadie given it was an O'Driscoll temporary anyway.

In my opinion, Turkoman is the perfect breed for Arthur. He wants a horse that is fast and strong, and Turkoman horses in this game definitely fit that criteria
Yep, still works in August 2024, playing on playstation. Seeing how R* pretty much abandoned RDR2, I doubt this glitch will ever be patched. Shame the Braithwaite brand on this Turk disappears after you reload the game. It looked kinda cool.
Yeah it worked great just now. I tried bonding with the turk in the stable and just before handing them to clyde.. I found that i had to feed it one additional time after bonding to have the temp horse icon appear. The first time it didnt work cause i didnt bond with it a little more after the level one icon appeared. I just started playing games this year like all the assasians creeds and cyber punk and what not. This is by far my favorite game. Thanks for the vids!
Can confirm this still works as of July 7, 2024. It took me 5 beets, 5 sugar cubes and 1 peppermint to achieve bonding lvl 1, and then 1 peppermint and 1 brush to make it my temporary horse
I takes a couple of tries to be able to feed and brush the horse but then you can really get him. During my first play through I got the same horse from the saint denis bug, so I'm glad to have him again!
9/18/2024 still works. Took me ONE carrot and ONE brush and he was bonded. I also do have the Shark Tooth Trinket maybe that’s why 🤔. But this is still active and working.
I think I saw a video were someone found Boadicea in the same stables in the braithwaite mission , If I Remember it was the liver chestnut Hungarian half bred that got cut from the game in this same mission I believe and thanks for the great video
Played this game when released got my next gen console now wanted to play the game again on next gen and can tell you this method works thank you rock worth
i got one of those like that but it died wen i was leaving Saint Denis, a bunch of Lemony raiders appeared with a FUCKING MINIGUN and shot me, was dead in 5 seconds, once i respawned i got right to my "turkoman" and once i ride him for like 2 minutes, i noticed he was kinda different and smaller, then i realised it was a tenese walker, the game will automatically give you one once you reload back in the game without a main horse, tragic, ended the run there something i normally do wen my playthrough is messy, wich it was i made some mistakes and didnt quite do things in the best manner so i restarted and tried a different horse, Perlino Andalusian, wat a beauty.
Didn’t see the update, horse ended up kicking me and running over to the horse dealers so I couldn’t approach the horse without triggering the cut scene.
Just got that beauty, this method still works just fine, thanks a lot!! Is there any video of yours which contains all the unique horses to be acquaired during missions or such like this?
May 7 2024, can confirm that this still works. You have your choice of three, doesn't matter which one you choose, but you can only pick one. You have two Arabians (black and white) and a BEAUTIFUL TURKOMAN, which is what I got. My absolute favorite. Thanks for the tip. Also, feeding the horse sweets DOES speed the process up. ✌🏾
How to make sure the food supply is sufficient? Because at that time my horse's food supply was lacking when running the mission, and I didn't know how to add it when repeating the mission.
The sad thing for me is that I already passed this mission, not having had the chance to catch Turkoman or any of the only male specimens of the Arabians

I just did it. Replayed the mission did everything correct until i had the temporary horse icon. Completed the mission and then there was no horse there. Didnt work
Got it first try really simple. I just can't get the "B" watermark off I tried stabling it but it didn't work Edit: I got it you just gotta quit out and re-enter. Also the best part is its a Boah
Im playing on xbox and cabbot even interact with the horse anymore. Gonna give it another shot now as saved the game just in case. Edit: the glitch thing where you shoot the woman whose Missouri fox trotter died still works if that's any use to anyone.
I'm playing on pc and this still works. The only problem is that you can't put the saddle immediately on that area. You need to go to the closest stable which is the Dewberry creek. Also, before getting it to level 1 by feeding, it takes at least 40 corns in my case (lucikly I just finished crafting my Legend of the East satchel). I try just to brush instead of feeding but the option is gray out. (2024/01/23)
I prefer the Missouri Fox Trotter. When the game first released I swear the Turkoman used to be really brave but I think during one of the patches/updates over the years it got changed because when I get on a Turkoman these days on the current patch (online or story) it's very often easily spooked around animals and at times can get skittish in gun fights. Regardless it's still more brave than an Arabian, can't stand riding those things. If you don't mind being slower and want a horse even more brave than the MFT get an Ardennes, Mustang, Hungarian Halfbred or Shire. In story mode I'd say those in that order are the bravest horses in the game and I'd probably put the MFT as number 5, there's a bunch of other horses that could be debated for that slot though too like Dutch Warmbloods or Andalusians.
@@edy1434 The real test is taking them around predators like cougars, wolves, bears and crocs. That's how you can gauge how brave a horse really is. If a horse can't handle gun fights I won't ride it but most horses at max bonding can stay calm in gun fights. All horses freak the hell out around snakes so they don't count. But Missouri Fox Trotters are pretty brave. There are better options but they're up there. I'd argue they're the best horse in Story Mode if you're looking for the best all round horse.
@@RoadSparrow Yeah I noticed that too, a couple years ago when I got the Dark bay turkoman, he was never spooked by anything, these days, he'll get fairly jumpy around predators and gunshots, not to an extreme extent, as I havent been bucked yet, but still far more than he used to be, idk what they changed but its frustrating.
This is gonna be my main horse for Arthur! Boadicea, Cerberus, two mythological names, so I guess I need a mythological name for my Missouri Fox Trotter too... Achilles?

If you feed it sweets it will bond faster. Peppermint and Sugar Cubes will help you bond to it the fastest. Only takes me like about 5 or 6 of them.

i use carrots for horse thefts and it usually only takes me about 2, ive only ever tried in the stables tho

The 2 horse north of saint denis seems to only spawn tennesee, morgan or Kentucky saddler for me. Never another breed. What did i do wrong?

About the 25th time you fed the horse is when i think i finally understood that I'm supposed to feed the horse

when i tried to target it to feed and walked around, he hit me and ran STRAIGHT to the men so it triggered the cutscene XD

1/4/2024 it still works, just did it. You have to be at the perfect angle of the horse to feed and brush, mine was very touchy. BUT IT WORKED!!

Im playing on xbox and cabbot even interact with the horse anymore. Gonna give it another shot now as saved the game just in case.
Edit: the glitch thing where you shoot the woman whose Missouri fox trotter died still works if that's any use to anyone.

I'm playing on pc and this still works. The only problem is that you can't put the saddle immediately on that area. You need to go to the closest stable which is the Dewberry creek. Also, before getting it to level 1 by feeding, it takes at least 40 corns in my case (lucikly I just finished crafting my Legend of the East satchel). I try just to brush instead of feeding but the option is gray out. (2024/01/23)

I prefer the Missouri Fox Trotter. When the game first released I swear the Turkoman used to be really brave but I think during one of the patches/updates over the years it got changed because when I get on a Turkoman these days on the current patch (online or story) it's very often easily spooked around animals and at times can get skittish in gun fights. Regardless it's still more brave than an Arabian, can't stand riding those things.
If you don't mind being slower and want a horse even more brave than the MFT get an Ardennes, Mustang, Hungarian Halfbred or Shire. In story mode I'd say those in that order are the bravest horses in the game and I'd probably put the MFT as number 5, there's a bunch of other horses that could be debated for that slot though too like Dutch Warmbloods or Andalusians.

@@edy1434 The real test is taking them around predators like cougars, wolves, bears and crocs. That's how you can gauge how brave a horse really is. If a horse can't handle gun fights I won't ride it but most horses at max bonding can stay calm in gun fights. All horses freak the hell out around snakes so they don't count. But Missouri Fox Trotters are pretty brave. There are better options but they're up there. I'd argue they're the best horse in Story Mode if you're looking for the best all round horse.
@@RoadSparrow Yeah I noticed that too, a couple years ago when I got the Dark bay turkoman, he was never spooked by anything, these days, he'll get fairly jumpy around predators and gunshots, not to an extreme extent, as I havent been bucked yet, but still far more than he used to be, idk what they changed but its frustrating.

It works as 07.11.2023 on pc. After completing the mission i went in the stable with horse and just saddle up.
