      @@vanillawafer176that's where you can get some drivers involved. Really, Dale Jr would help you. Maybe Kelly Earnhardt too. Contact JR Motorsports in Mooresville NC. Harry Gant is in Taylorsville NC. Ned Jarrett is in Newton NC. Dale Jarrett is in Hickory NC. Ryan Newman is in Statesville NC, and I think Kyle Busch is either in Huntersville or Statesville NC. These driver's would be glad to share info. I have a somewhat extensive NASCAR knowledge myself.

    My favorite finish of all time has to be the 2001 Pepsi 400. The Earnhardt family means a lot to me, especially because my dad introduced me to NASCAR and Sr. And Jr. were the first drivers I really grasped onto and every time I see that finish it just brings a tear to my eye. My dad passed away last year, so I have more of a connection to motorsports than I ever have before. He’s the one who got me introduced into it but I didn’t get into it till way later.

    Great work!!! A long video, but I was intrigued the whole time. I grew up in Nascar. My first race was the 1979 Daytona 500. I was in the tower with my father, and we had a Closed Circuit TV in our booth. We were in the P.A. booth. I daw a different view of the fight. It was from the turn 3 camera. As Richard Petty crossed the finish line, I looked at the monitor and saw a Sunday afternoon slobberknocker.

    I find it crazy how both Ernie Irvan, and Dale Earnhardt suffered from the same injury, and Ernie was able to survive that. That just shows his resilience. I wish Earnhardt would have been able to do the same, but unfortunately there were way too many factors that made that almost impossible. I wish I was alive to see that 28 car in its prime.

  • @grungyflannel

    Great Vid! liked your criteria for what makes a good finish! really well researched.
    few of em i think deserve another look.
    1. Dale didnt "get spun" in the 92 Winston, he simply lost it, but doesnt really change how insane that finish was.
    2. Vickers definitely didnt hook JJ into Jr on purpose, and only got the win cuz the caution came out when it did, other wise Kahne and Kurt race to the line.(he got that win the same way McDowell won the 500)
    3. Smoke didnt move Denny at Sonoma, Denny f*cked up and missed the braking point, probably expecting Tony to divebomb him.
    and just for history's sake, AJ Foyt was runnin 3rd when Donnie and Cale crashed, but slowed when the yellow came out as was customary in USAC/Open Wheel back then, but prior to DJ's wreck at NH in 2003 you raced back to the line to take the caution in NASCAR, so The King and DW blew by AJ.
    all in all, awesome vid! keep up the good work!!

    I grew up watching Ricky Craven in the Busch North Series in the early 90s (grew up close to Oxford Plains Speedway, and the Oxford 250 is one of the greatest short track races in the Northeast [Geoff Bodine, Kevin Harvick, and Kyle Busch are former winners there, so it's a pretty rich pedigree for a race that's otherwise just a local sub-tier of the Busch/Xfinity series]). That finish at Darlington will forever be burned into my memory as one of the greatest sporting events ever.

    One of my favorite feel-good finishes was the father-son battle between Bobby Allison and Davey Allison with Bobby holding off his son to show the old man still had it. I will admit that my opinion of this finish is biased because my father was a huge Bobby Allison fan which basically made me a Davey Allison fan by default. Their Victory Lane moment was one of the coolest in NASCAR history as well with Bobby boring Miller beer all over Davies head. I always imagined a Bizarro universe version of that finish where Davy wins and pours Havoline motor oil all over Bobby.😂

  • @thebonesaw..4634
    @thebonesaw..4634 Рік тому +1

    3:58 - "Slew down"? Are you trying to say "slowed down"? Although "slew" is a word (defined as a noun - and followed by the word "of" - to mean a large number of something: "a slew of birds flew in from the north", or a verb meaning "to skid" or "slide" or "turn abruptly")... it is NOT however, any form/tense of the word "SLOW". Generally, I don't care how people use words, since words come to mean whatever we as a society decide they should mean (that's why I find it fascinating - and I've come to accept - that today's younger people have decided to use the word "literally" to mean "figuratively"). But, until society as a whole, starts using the word "slew" to mean the past tense of "slow", rather than the current past participle "slowed"... you, as a professional narrator, should probably avoid saying it.
