When you realize that Bill Davis Racing who was way and I mean way past their prime, ended up getting the best finish for your team, you know you had a really bad season.
You forgot to mention the controversy surrounding Bill Davis Racing before Toyota made their Cup debut. Prior to 2007, BDR fielded Dodges in the Cup Series, but in 2003, DaimlerChrysler sued the team when it was discovered they built a prototype for Toyota's Truck Series debut in 2004. Furthermore, BDR was fielding Pontiacs and Chevrolets in the Busch Series, as Dodge did not give any manufacturer support in that division. As a result, Dodge pulled manufacturer support away from BDR in October 2003. In February 2006, BDR was ordered to pay DaimlerChrysler $6.5 million in damages and continued to run their Dodges that season, but with no logos.
Also in late 03, Ward Burton left the caterpillar 22 he'd won the Daytona 500 the year before, and the (Southern 500 the year before that) for the #0 NetZero Pontiac with four races left in the then Winston Cup season
As a long time Chevy guy I do appreciate that Toyota does ads and helped bring teams up to a more competitive level. Plus my favorite driver Jimmie Johnson is a Toyota guy now. But wow their first season was awful
I really hope Dale didn’t do Michael like that. It’s one thing if you sleep with a guys wife unaware that she’s married, but if he really did that’s savage.

While the finish itself may have come down to fuel milage, Vickers was legitimately one of the best cars that night. I remember that by the spring Bristol race, my dad and I were betting on how many races it would be before Allmendinger gave up on NASCAR. Obviously neither of us won that bet, lol! Jarrett didn't take UPS with him, they stuck around with Reutimann throughout '08 before jumping ship for David Ragan. While the lows were certainly lower, I'd still take Toyota's '07 over Pontiac's '94. Toyota at least scraped 100 lead laps and had the excuse of being a start-up. Pontiac '94 was just pure mediocrity with practically no highlights. And coincidentally also starred Michael Waltrip.
I was shocked to find out you only have 7000 subs, your content has a level of quality that deserves magnitudes more. You're on pay with like slapshoes and BFM. Keep it up and they will come!
Pov: you're watching the flyover at daytona when the blue angels fly from behind the grandstand. You look down at the infield to see Jack Roush getting surprised and running out of the speedway screaming "Pearl Harbor!!"
Here are some drivers that placed higher than the Toyota drivers. J.J. Yeley (21st), Robby Gordon (26th), Part-timer Mark Martin (27th), David Gilliland (28th), Tony Raines (29th), Johnny Sauter (30th). Dave Blaney was the highest placed Toyota in 31st. Heck, Joe Nemechek lost his ride at Ginn and still did better than every Toyota driver except Blaney. Sterling Marlin had a higher place than Jarrett, Allmendinger, Mayfield, and Waltrip and he only ran two races after he was fired.
I didn't realize how just about every Toyota team and driver has been involved in some sort of major controversy. I thought it was just Joe Gibbs and MWR that were the problem.
Jack Roush makes some comical accusations against the Toyota teams. I immediately thought of the Phoenix Wright Pointing meme when I research that story haha
I love your videos bro, they are so entertaining and informative, love your historical research
Thank you so much! That means a lot! I appreciate the love and support!

Thank you for sharing that info! I left it out since it happened before the 2007 season but still crazy how there was sooo much controversy in general

Ironically the average Toyota truck is made with more American parts and employees than ford or Chevy
Equally as ironic, Ford and Chevy are made with more foreign parts than American.
As a long time Chevy guy I do appreciate that Toyota does ads and helped bring teams up to a more competitive level. Plus my favorite driver Jimmie Johnson is a Toyota guy now. But wow their first season was awful
The only thing that saved Toyotas Cup career was JGR switching over.
What's funny was that Pontiac got a win in their last full time Cup season 4 years earlier while Toyota in their 1st Cup season didn't even get that.
18:23 I would say they're 3rd best all time after Gibbs and Furniture Row
Ahhh true, I have a hard time distinguishing that team apart from JGR. How about the 2nd best Multicar tea- wait..... can't do that either lol
I really hope Dale didn’t do Michael like that. It’s one thing if you sleep with a guys wife unaware that she’s married, but if he really did that’s savage.
Sex outside of marriage must be avoided friend.
I liked MWR, but they were probably the worst at cheating in pro sports. They just made it so easy to get caught.
Here before Toyota haters and boomers whine and cry about a foreign manufacture that has their plant in Kentucky
Dang ol cheatin toyoters!😂
@junkyardblaze189 I love how Google translated your comment to English from Good Ole Southern hahah

Crazy how Waltrip had 11 DNQs in a row!
You look like Eric estepps brother
Spending a full minute talking about Jeffrey Epstein and the Clintons in a video about Toyota's 2007 NASCAR Season is wild.

Actually Toyota won three championships, with Truex in Furniture Row.

If only they waited til the COT went full time before going to the Cup Series.
