Would be a lot more interesting to see this with Frankie coaching somebody who isn't already a past world-class bowler but definitely some good stuff to listen in on here. It's also a good reminder that everybody can use coaching at any level.

Cool video from Coach Frankie! Definitely good advise that he will use to improve his game. There are a lot of moving parts to bowling from head to toe. Some folks don't understand how dynamic this sport really is. Great job! The trick is to fix something without unfixing other things in the process.

He bowls alot like me. I'll take some of the tips outlined herein, i.e., hand grip, position under the ball to flatren it out more (my bowl tends yo "hockey stick" as his did initially when he approached and targeted more from the right as opppsed to the left), foot speed, squaring up my body more facing the pins (foul line), and slid position at the foul line.
In short, the mechanics that work for you will improve upon the fundamentals. I'll definitely apply these things to my game and hopefully, I'll start seeing some improvement.

Probably the most underrated advice but my coach didn’t actually teach me about grip pressure. And how I should consistently pressure the fingers throughout the steps. Grip pressure consistency helped my average from 120 to 190+ 😅 the only downside is that it sometimes hurts the fingers, especially if you practice 5-6 games (50-60 frames).😢

@@ianhoneycutt3858 I was bowling a pro am with Fagan on my lane and I asked him “Can I throw one of your bowling balls?”
I wasn’t asking for a free ball, just to throw his ball
I’m two fingers so if his ball rolls well I get a new layout option
He says “Why would you want to do that?”
      It was awkward and lame
His poor bowling balls couldn’t take one throw from me I guess

Instead of telling him slower feet, he would benefit from taking less & longer strides. He's like 6'2 or taller & takes like 8-10 baby steps. It should only take him 3 to 4 steps with the 3rd or 4th step being his alide step.

    • @christ9359

Speaking from experience, once you get the grip relaxed, you can add the wrist cup back in. Your release will stay clean, but your revs will go way. Don't rush the process, though. Good luck!

His form actually looks worse as we get to minute 17. None of these tips have helped to correct his feet getting to the line before his arm.
Pushing off earlier and slightly more deliberate would have done more for his dynamics than all of the other tweaks.
