No one will ever be as good as Johnny Carson and the comics of that era cannot be beat. They were the best. Love watching these old clips. Grateful I lived back then and was old/young enough to appreciate the humor!

I am so GLAD that I was here on this Earth to live in this time. Johnny Carson was/will always be “The Gold standard” for late night. This Guys today could not even hold Carson’s toilet paper. And Buddy Hackett was just a “Gem” also. God bless them all. They were Just the BEST.

You are so right! My mom watched Carson every night when I was a kid and I would lie in bed listening to her laughter. It was a better time...when adults were in charge.

Even though Buddy liked to tell 'dirty' jokes they were quality 'dirty' jokes and it shows just how smart Buddy was when we realize that he wrote a lot of his own material...he was one funny guy and Johnny deserves great credit for having Buddy and Jonathon Winters on so often, now these shows are classics...thanks a million for uploading.

Even though his language could be dirty, you could tell that Buddy Hackett had a good heart. That's why he was so funny, because you knew he meant well.

I wish I had grown up in this time. All I do is work and watch Carson and in living color etc and listen to 50 60 70 and 80s music. I was born in 89. Everything sucks now, except Starbucks lol

Sadly I agree. I was born after WWII and we used to discuss how WWII could have been prevented, and now I see the same exact thing happening only instead of Hitler, it is Putin, and same as last time, the Republicans think all America has to do is play "America First" Ostrich and he and the climate crises will go away. No, appeasement doesn't work, and the Russians said today they want California, Oregon, and Washington for themselves. Ukraine? They also want Poland and Finland. No worries, Trump will give it all away. Just buy some golden sneakers and bibles, and keep him out of jail. But I digress. Actually, I agree with you. Modern music and entertainment is either weak or ......I hate to say it.

Remember when legends walked the Earth. Buddy Hackett, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, Elvis, Ray Charles, Johnny Carson, Charley Chaplin, abbot and Costello, Liz Taylor, Lucy and so much more, the list goes on and on. Each Generation has had it`s entertainment stand outs. There are a million life times of entertainment in Heaven. and probably the same amount in Hell for those who earned the right to be there. LOL.

Buddy Hackett was primarily a nightclub entertainer and in that type venue was not constrained in his material as he was on TV. His humor was designed for adult audiences but he was never profane just to be vulgar. His comedy was adult themed and much of it could not be repeated on network television. He was also a fine actor. Check him out in “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, World”. He is hysterical in the flying bit done with Mickey Rooney and Jim Backus.

Pure class and talent! Thanks for posting this. We really were spoiled with good classy entertainment back then. Guys like Rickles, Newhart, Hacket, Carlin, Cosby and others from that era (1950's-1990's) really set an unobtainable bar with their acts and material. Nobody now (in my opinion) even comes CLOSE to these guys. Classic!
