As long as it is financially viable, i don't see any problem building metro in any city

People had the same worries for Nagpur Metro a few years back.
But looking at the traffic conditions, it became evident that after 10 years, it would be "IMPOSSIBLE" to construct a single Metro line because the traffic would be 20X worse and dense.
Now, when I look at Pune Metro and the traffic, I wish it would have been constructed 10 years ago when the population was half of what it is today.
Agree, same goes here for Kanpur Metro. It is too late now.
Absolutely, and also once the cities become big, land rates for metro stations would also sky rocket, and public inconvenience during the construction process would be more too. It’s better to start constructing metros now in smaller cities, and also some long term planning for the metro lines as the city expands.
Same for patna metro
Urban population of Muzaffarpur is approx 560000 currently . It is the 2nd fastest growing city in North Bihar

This is what being stuck in traffic at Bhagwanpur, Ramdayalu, Aghoriya Bazar, Kalambagh Chowk, Motijheel does to a MF.

Few more points..
1) Having same type of metro train network across India provides excellent support system
2) It gives lot of bargaining power to Govt to reduce manufacturing and depoynent costs due to economis of scale
3) A support engineering skill set will be setup where mass engineers are adopting and working in this sector with long term (more than 100 years) careers.
4) If a metro is getting failed in a city can be given to other company to operate. The company can take risk if operating multiple systems. Experience will eventually make it profitable.
5) Single type of rails, metro rakes, electric amd ancilliary systems and experience means less and less chances of failure. It works like charms and very reliable.
6) Grade separation is very important for cities in Infia where civic sense is almost non existant. At grade transport systems will cause chaos and accidents.
Here in Maharashtra city like Nashik,Sambhaji Nagat still no any thinking of metro and both cities contribute major share in GDP
Sambhaji Nagar metro will be approved soon because of AURIC city....Centre and state are investing more in Sambhaji nagar.....Nashik will remain neglected
This development is must needed in India ,we are not developing in barren land but growing cites so in future it's must needed.
And always remember just investing in present it will give compounding benefits,if we secure future expansion criteria in it as the land price will go up.

I was born in Bhagalpur but I live in Delhi. I totally agree with this video. If we look at conditions of Bihar which is not so satisfactory but some cities like Bhagalpur have shown drastic progress. I was amazed to see my such development in my city and that too within 2 years. Bhagalpur is a major exporter of silk all over India and there are many MSMEs but the government never focused on supporting such industries but after BJPs win there was some considerably change. Not a support of any party , it is fact.
Only Patnaik , Bhagalpur and Nalanda(Bakhtiyarpur) can take Bihar to a great height
I understand what you are saying but your video is solely based on population numbers and not the actual population commuting.
Out tier 2 and tier 3 cities are different from western world and we can't have metros in those cities because the population commuting won't be huge. And at the end it will be a white elephant for the government. You need to have your basic infrastructure such as buses aligned on the right routes in these cities.
And he also said, "future ke liye abhi se bana ke rakh do". These things are depreciating, capital intensive assets, so ensuring viability is fundamental. Jaipur metro has below-par occupancy despite traversing through high population density neighbourhoods because in those areas people usually travel small distances.

I'm from Muzaffarpur and I don't know about future but currently the city needs a robust public transport.. around 10 years ago we used to Have city ride by Muzaffarpur Nagar Nigam.. i think small buses like them powered by electricity could be viable in Traffic of muzaffarpur.
I'm excited to see what route they will pick with metro because current inner cities of Muzaffarpur is not at all feasible for Metro construction.. maybe this could lead to creation of a new city of Muzaffarpur.
Also I'm against the argument that metro should only be in overcrowded cities.. do you know what metro's contribution to traffics of overcrowded cities is? It's almost negligible.. so start sooner when there are less cars on the road and people get used to public transport so they don't buy cars that much.
The biggest argument i hear is "Well, this other city has this much population and it still doesn't have a metro".. don't you wish it had before it's traffic became what it is today?

Metros are great but not The Marvel of modern technology and engineering. Small cities are still developing and opportunity for us to experiment and develop the modern transit system. It's so sad that we see a century old transit system as 'The achivement' building track over viaduct or underground when we are going to start thinking beyond this, when we will be think about virtual tracks and self driving gps based carriages when we will study the real time foot fall data, real time signalling. Our whole focus is on physical infrastructure whereas we lag far behind on systematic soft infrastructure.

Actually no.. it will take a min of 10 years to build a metro and by that time petrol and diesel rates would sky rocket. To travel 1KM in small cities like muz you'd have to pay 20rs, metro currently takes 10rs and might increase to 12-15rs.
And people will start affording it just like they started affording monthly recharges. It's just a matter of convenience.
By that time there will be growth in the cheap road transport not relying on petrol/diesel like electric rikshaw, eBus and sharing ePods. The time and financial investment required for building metro is way much more than any road based transport and the return on investment is less than that of road transport.

Still I feel firstly - top 10 metropolitan areas (by GDP and population) should have had a huge network. E.g. Delhi and Mumbai by now should have had 500 km network by now. Bangalore, Kolkata, Chennai at least 450 km. Hyderabad, Pune, Ahemdabad 250 km. Once this is achieved then I am fine with Tier II & III
@@ameyaraomarathe agreed but inn big cities ka jo naam bola unme banri h abhi, to usme time lagega but need abhi h (thoda pehle ban jati to shayad accha hota)
and jab development ho jata h uske baad metro banane me challenges aate h crowded aread etc
Pehle se chote sheher me ban jaye to unke around development hota which is called ToD (Transit oriented development)
@@ameyaraomarathe delhi me current phase se baad almost 500km ho jaegi
Mumbai me local system h to kaam chalra h vaha pe, metro bhi jaroorat h vaha
Baaki ki Cities ka bhi dekhe to jo under construction and approved h unka length kaafi h
Par vahi baat h abhi under construction and planned h, thoda pehle aajati to accha rehta...
These cities are future tier 1 so i don't know how it is a waste of money. More money is wasted on welfare and pension but i don't see anyone complaining about it.
Because you look at the project from current status but not the bigger picture of future growth and expansion
If u start building metro post growth in cities you inc cost by several times and the construction period by several years
Its better to build a line or two in cities and run then for a loss at lower freq for like 5 years and connect larger sections over time and inc freq than wait for the demand to be adequate and then spend more money and waste years building a system
@@hiteshadhikari very well explained 🔥🔥
Mathura me bhi metro honi chahiye
bana do bhai jo hoga dekha jayega
Ye poore scenario ko china se jod k dekhna hi galat he, china me bhi only 7 cities metro profitable run kar rhe hei and 24 cities loss maker hei and govt subsidy par run kar rhe he. We should carefull and avoid this 'Bhed chaal', Apart from this US and Europe's economy was far ahead from us even 100 year back. Most of state govt are under huge amount of loan and in such scenarios taking one more loan for high investment loss making project is not viable for the country and second is metro didn't plan well in second tier cities so far. Downtown should be cover from 1st phase itself.
Jara socho agar metro banega aur wo aas pas ke villages tak jayega to kitni public transport band hogi aur pollution kitna kam ho jayega. Logo ko aasani hogi kahi bhi Jane me.
Metro line har jagah honi chahiye
Guwahati Ma Metro Chalagi kya Thanks 👍👍🙏🎉
Why Nasik and Aurangabad not given metro
Investing in metro than will run on losses in tier 3 cities that have poor quality of healthcare and education is like a poor family buying an expensive car to show off where as their kids struggle for basic nutrition and education or just spending all railway budget vande bharat where are majority of the population suffer to due lack of safety and affordability!
भारत में जितने भी स्टेट है सभी स्टेट हो टाउन से ग्रमीण गांव जोड़ा अच्छा पहल होगा।
Gaya is very crowded.
1.14 sexy trains tbh
This should be implemented in small cities
