    BTW- if you decide to put your XL slide on an XMacro frame, none of my previous XL holsters will accommodate the new frame (largely due to the 1913 rail and the wider trigger guard) and therefore you will need to get a new holster for your XMacro framed pistol.

      I have three XL holsters that the short macro module fits just fine. Two are leather (Desantis and Simply Rugged) and a kydex made by RKBA holsters.

    FYI anyone not comfortable or able to make the thumb safety mod on any WC frame they're looking to order, here's a quote from Wilson Combat Support: "We do offer the custom option to cut out the material for the safety for a $25 charge. Our grip module come with the visual lines of the area that needs to be removed. If one took the time with a hand file and some sand paper for finishing, it would not be hard to do it themselves. If you want to order a grip module and have us cut it please call us to order over the phone"

    Push the receiver pin out FROM THE RIGHT Towards the Left. The pin only needs to move about 1/8 before it escapes the pin retainer spring. Then you can pull the pin put with your fingers. When you reinstall the pin, push the pin from the LEFT towards the Right. If you push the pin out from the Left towards the right, the entire length of pin the must be pushed through the pin retainer spring.

      Other way... left to right coming out. Right to left when replacing...
      This is for most pins in firearms.

    • @PierceThirlen2
      @PierceThirlen2 7 місяців тому +3

      @@RJ-0301 I don't care what it is for most firearms. Why on earth would you want to push the pin from the left to the right on a Sig P365? Instead of only needing to push the groove at the end of the retaining pin through the retaining spring once and only needing to push the retaining pin 1/8' and not needing a long punch to push the pin out, if you push from the left to the right you need to push the entire length of the retaining pin through the retaining spring with a long punch, but you also need to push the grooves on both ends of the retaining pin through the retaining spring. That makes no sense.

    Not for me, the WC grip takes away the purpose of concealable of the Sig p365 series.

    Just put a Wilson Combat grip module on a X-Macro 'TacOps' today. Same khaki-ish color polymer as the tan or FDE XL version. Works with Tactical Development's flush-fir, flat base base pads. Note - this grip module has a distinct 'flared' magwell compared to the OEM X-Macro grip module. I dont have an aftermarket or Sig magwell to test it with but I doubt it will work wth the WC grip module. Consering the design, it's probably unneeded The tunsten weight kit adds a nice bit of heft. Overall, as-is loaded weight with 17 + 1 of Gold Dot 124 gr sits at 29.7 oz.

    • @atomicsmith
      @atomicsmith 7 місяців тому

      They match the fit of the factory module at that point, so holster compatibility is exactly the same. I agree though, if they just carried the same contour and stippling all the way up it would be better…

    Doesn't the wider handle defeat the advantage of concealment that the p365 is known for being a thinner gun?

    The texture was not aggressive enough for me. Two attempts with talon grips failed. Epoxy with 90 mesh sand on the grip solved the issue. Doesn’t bother my skin for carry and grippy enough for USPSA. I have to grip the crap out of it to get faster splits and keep the sights on target .

    Something not mentioned is the trigger guard on the X-Macro grip is much beefier than the LX grip module. The XM trigger guard appears significantly stronger than the LX version which is kind of important if you forgo the manual safety.

  • @slanderous.j
    @slanderous.j 6 місяців тому

    The biggest plus side to the WCXMacro grip isn't the texture, but the ability to add the tungsten rods into it for more weight. That weight makes a huge difference in flatter recoil.

    • @geekofsteal
      @geekofsteal 9 місяців тому

      I believe it will, but it will have an ugly "underbite". You can remedy this if you opt to install a compensator, which will fill the void in the grip to slide/barrel fitment. Some compensators are specifically designed to take advantage of this difference in fitment. Just search google or youtube for "p365 compensator" and you might soon find exactly what I'm describing

      It will fit but the dust cover will stick out a little. They have a short slide version that’s the exact same with the shorter dust cover for the 3.1” slides, it’s supposed to come out very soon.

    • @dadthefixerflorida
      @dadthefixerflorida 9 місяців тому

      They also make a short slide version that fits the xl and short slide. It has the 365 rail as opposed to the 1913 rail on the macro frame.

    • @gjhoward
      @gjhoward 9 місяців тому

      WC made two Macro grips. One is the XL-slide length, the other is the X-slide length. The XL-length has the 1913 rail, the X-length has the proprietary Sig rail.

    Having multiple XM units including both a 'Comp' and multiple 'TacOps' I jumped on the WC X-Macro grip mdule last week and am currently awaiting delivery. I'm a big fan of the WC XL grip module and have several but time moves on. Not sure If Tactical Development's non-Magwell alloy basepads will be compatible or not, so time will tell. Good video, thx.

    • @BinaryPun
      @BinaryPun 9 місяців тому +1

      Please tell me how it is! I have their XL module, and I love it. I'm still considering the WC Macro!

    • @XrayMike17plus1
      @XrayMike17plus1 8 місяців тому

      @@BinaryPun The WC grip module is a bit more flared at the base than the OEM grip module. Enough so that aftermarket magwells may not fit. Got mine with the tungsten weight kit which adds balance and with Speer Gold Dot 124gr loaded 17 + 1, the pistol weighs 1lb 14.4 oz. That's with Tactical Development's alloy flat standard base pad, which BTW are now finally available in FDE which is a reasonable match for WC's 'tan' grip module. While the grip is quite 'grippy' on the front and backstrap the sides are slightly smoother in a weird way. While still heavily textured it's almost like WC polished the texture slightly - perhaps due to complaints about the previous versions being too textured - especially for AIWB carry against bare skin. As in the past, WC's version of FDE has a more khaki hue than Sig's Coyote Tan. Personally I like it, but it is definitely a different color than Sig's.

    I'm concerned that they might not sell a manual variant since their guide mentions to cut a safety notch. Below is the instruction.
    **NOTE 1: If your fire control unit has a manual safety you will have to manually cut out the
    safety notch on both sides of the module. There will be a faint witness mark to follow. Wilson
    Combat X-MACRO modules have a reduced thickness in the safety location to fit the standard
    manual safety of the P365. A hand file or Dremel tool is recommended to cut this.

    I got mine in today and the mags won’t drop free. You literally have to pull them out with a lot of force. So I hit it with a dremel to take some material off and now it’s just trash. So pissed I dropped $117 on this and the tungsten weights and now I have a paper weight

    • @atomicsmith
      @atomicsmith 7 місяців тому +1

      Something’s not right. The mag well is generally more open in the WC module, and mags should definitely drop free. Did you possibly bend the plastic when you inserted the weights?

  • @gjhoward
    @gjhoward 9 місяців тому +1

    I got so used to having the option of a longer grip, from front to back, with the addition of the XM backstrap and aftermarket backstraps, that I couldn't see myself enjoying the new WC grip. Instead I went the 'investment' route and purchased an Icarus Precision XM grip. I am very satisfied with my decision.
