Me Too! Told him hearing his name called on the first game of the 1989 World Series gives me goosebumps! “Hitting 3rd. Number 33, Jose Canseco!” Got to tell Khris Davis my favorite memory of him. When I was young, My Mom brought me to a night game and where I was sitting Khris was on outfield and a group of guys kept yelling his name and and he looked up at us!

This is why I have always liked Jose. He doesn't hold back. Mentioning the steroids nonchalantly might make some uneasy, but it takes guts to move on from those days and learn from it.
He was the only one upfront about the steroid abuse...he weathered denials and outright abuse from the guilty ones & the media...but, in the end, he was right & had told the truth about it all.
My favorite player of all time. Jose Canseco. I know people like me who like Jose get bashed, but i don't care. Was he perfect, nope. But I've always felt like he was a great player. If he could have stayed healthy, he would have 550 HRs. He had tremendous bat speed and power to all fields. I don't even think Yellowstone Park could have held him in. Lol. Everyone talks about exit velocity nowadays, I guarantee he would be over 120mph regularly. SS and 3B hated seeing him at the plate. Anyway, have a great day.

My favorite of all time class act….I had the honor of meeting Mr. Canseco when I was a kid, people are so quick to discredit him and blame performance enhancement…call it what you will…Mr Canseco was human and genuinely cared, when I was a kid growing up in Anaheim my friends brother got shot in the head, Mr Canseco went to the hospital to visit him there is a newspaper article somewhere with a picture I met him in the emergency room he was so emotionally attached but the fact that he did that made me respect and admire this special human this moment changed me forever I always wondered if he remembered but I haven’t had the opportunity to thank him for inspiring me to be a good man…

I have lived in Sacramento for 40 years and next year I won't have to travel I-80 to the Coliseum!!! Was in Vegas last month and most people ( Uber drivers) want MLB, now they have a sniff of it but they dont want the A's. Hope we can buy them for Sacramento!!

I went to an A's game during the 40/40 season. They walked him and we all knew Joser was gonna run. I'm sitting almost field level on the 3rd base line, right behind the dugout. (perfect view) Joser takes a noticeably large lead. Then Boom! Two steps and he's halfway to second! Before the ball crosses the plate, Joser is setting up his slide. It was an awesome display. He beat the throw by a mile. Good stuff!

I was 10 when the A's won the world series, and Canseco was my favorite player when I was huge into baseball in the late 80s- early 90s. He was a god among men on the field. I miss seeing him walk up to the plate, moving his head from side to side, that wide open batting stance, and the fastest, most violent swing I've ever seen to this day. One of the all-time greats in my book, I could care less about the steroids.
That is the most perfect description of Jose, especially the violent swing. I was a fan of his, despite being rude to me as a teenager. All I did was ask for his autograph after batting practice was over.

We had an ex-pro on our softball team..... They are a different Level of human being. My friends MLB dream came to an end after being cut from White Sox. He never really stayed up in the "Big Show" more than a few games at a time and he spent 8 years trying. His first year back with our church he started a softball team and we played in a local league. I watched him practice and play games, and it was literally like watching a man play against boys. Everything was so smooth and powerful, even compared to some of our best players in the league. Our league had restrictions on homeruns so he would hit his two homeruns a game, and then smash the ball into the wall the next two at bats.
I absolutely think so as well. To be honest, I don't really care about all the "steroid" stuff he did from long ago, he's admitted all of that, written about all of that, you name it, been there and done that, water under the bridge, etc. I think the guy definitely has the smarts and intelligence to, at the very least, be an MLB hitting coach (or invites to spring training, if nothing else), I really enjoy listening to interviews with him and this one's really good too, he definitely knows what he's talking about.

Canseco for me, was the first scary man to see at the plate. I was 16 in 89, grew up watching baseball and Jose stood out on those terms, intimidating. Once he bulked up and had that stance and swing.... he was scary. His swing was killer.

The A's belong in Oakland and the Astros belong in the NL. I don't know or care about Seattle or the Angels or even Texas. No disrespect at all, we're just not connected to these clubs. Our wars, our history is with the godforsaken Braves and Cardinals.

I'm glad baseball is slowly welcoming Canseco back into the fold - or at least back into the fringes of the sport. The man is far from perfect but is a good dude.
