As a young man, I felt a reverent hunger for the pictures he painted. I met him one day in 1983 at a factory I was working at sewing mattresses together when this very tall fellow came into my work area along with the plant manager. I was introduced, shook his hand and then that unmistakable voice said "nice to meet you"!
Yes, but younger people wouldn't understand his language, like when he said: lay down that "hoe" people under 40 , would probably think he's talking about a prostitute.
Yes he's passed on now, he left us with these words! Now all we have to do is listen! He spoke and spoke until he could speak no more.. now here we are 2022! We're doing all weekend to be good to it! I once listened to Paul Harvey in awe and admiration. The awe has faded with education and experience. The admiration grows with time. Although I don't agree with everything he says anymore, I respect and admire the way and why he said it. No judgement. No condemnation. Facts and history recited with dramatic eloquence. You knew exactly how he felt about it without his actually saying it, yet saying it with pauses, inflections and intonement. What a master of the spoken word. The Bard of the 20th Century.
I miss hearing Paul Harvey on the radio. I believe I even remember a local news station that would show Mr. Harvey on their 6 o'clock news cast telling his stories & passing on wisdom. Stay safe.
I had forgotten but I used to time my lunch around Paul Harvey, I listened to him on the AM truck radio wherever I was working in strip mines in Kentucky, Tennessee and Virginia. I would eat my sandwiches that my wife had made me and listen to Mr. Harvey on WIVK out of Knoxville. Simple wisdom that we need more of today, rather than the SJW victim hood BS that so many idiots are espousing.
Ever notice that history only has someone like Paul Harvey for that particular time and when he passes there is no one who will or can step up to the plate and continue what he started? His insights of the forgotten or deliberate removal of American history and other such world events will be missed.
+bigoldinosaur I agree....especially the lazy people who think they need $15/hr for flipping burgers....I'd hate to see them have to do hard manual physical labor like in construction or farming.
+Bryan Maynard People are just trying to survive. Why should the people who own everything(the resources) be able to take more and more while others suffer. It doesn't make sense. The rich are getting richer, and nearly everyone else is getting poorer. Both wages and wealth. Should people work hard, sure. People just aren't going to be able to match robotics/computers though, and eventually there will be few jobs.
Xyzzy i Yes...but there are jobs out there....and those jobs do pay more...it's just that some of them are more physically demanding like farming or construction jobs. and if it wasn't for wealthy people, there wouldn't be jobs! When was the last time you got a job from a poor person?
Bryan Maynard First off let me say I believe physical hard work is very satisfying. It leaves you in good shape, healthier in a lot of ways. But it also takes a long term toll also. Fuck wealthy people. They make is sound like they're the ones that create, when in reality they're more like the parasites that rely on the working people for everything. I don't have time to elaborate.
That's awesome. I want to do a film on him one day soon (Documentary). I want the world to see this amazing man, this brilliant storyteller. Loved hearing him. A time lost not to long ago.
I love the end where he talks about the sweat getting into the soil. Isn't it true that effort brings rewards not immediately seen, yet pays off with strength and hidden value?
Arthur Tavares hey, thanks for uploading this vid. i believe the entire world could better themselfs if only they could hear these words. thanks again -jesse
Do you have the one he did on the television as a rude guest in the living room? Several people have suggested you as the most likely source, if it still exists.
Rest in peace Paul.... You were and still are an icon.... You gave us faith, wisdom, hope, and were a beacon for good men to look towards for inspiration... You grew up in humble meager surroundings and learned from that about work... I hope when I cross over to the other side as you have done that I will have the opportunity to sit and visit with you about your life, your work, and how much you meant to me as a child growing up.... Good Day... :)
I drove a delivery truck route in the 80s and would work harder in hope of being back on the road with the radio on in order to catch his news broadcast, and to see if I could guess who he was talking about during "The rest of the story."
Someone else to take $150,000,000.00 from is? I don't think so. What we need is someone that doesn't have much at all in their bank account to fight against these Rich Tyrants who are against us.
ericintohistory and all you baby boomers should be taught how to spell. you should also spend less time on making baseless accusations maybe your kids are lazy but millenials aren't all lazy.
It's a long tradition for the older generation to blame younger generations for the world's problems, but the truth is it's the older generation that put in place the policies that have allowed and even encouraged the aspects of society that they deem negative.
You're wrong! It's always been the young generation that has always blamed the the generation before them for all the troubles in the world, just like what you're doing.

The advertising that Paul Harvey did just wasn't there because he needed sponsors you had to win his approval and his approval showed up and everything he talked about I miss him
the definition of journalist has changed since this great man....nowadays they call themselves journalists but they are just sensationalistic overpaid liars out for ratings....none of these talk show idiots or news people would make a pimple on his ass....rip sir
We never missed him when he was on the air. Half of what I am I own to his daily wisdom.
I can't wait to show my children and grand children this motivator and many others
He had a good message to deliver. He was good for telling the truth.
I could listen to him every chance I could get, miss listening to Mr.Harvey
I miss hearing Paul Harvey on the radio. I believe I even remember a local news station that would show Mr. Harvey on their 6 o'clock news cast telling his stories & passing on wisdom. Stay safe.
I was blessed to meet this man when I worked at abc in Chicago, what a great man, I miss him always
A great American, Mr. Harvey.
Miss him on the radio at noon..RIP fine man
I cannot fathom who would down vote Paul Harvey.
Damn, America need Paul Harvey right now😭😭😭
I listened to him while I was stationed at Minot A.F.B. Great stories, always!
Ever notice that history only has someone like Paul Harvey for that particular time and when he passes there is no one who will or can step up to the plate and continue what he started? His insights of the forgotten or deliberate removal of American history and other such world events will be missed.
Loved listening to him on the radio.
More people need to hear this.
I couldn't agree more
+bigoldinosaur I agree....especially the lazy people who think they need $15/hr for flipping burgers....I'd hate to see them have to do hard manual physical labor like in construction or farming.
Bryan Maynard
First off let me say I believe physical hard work is very satisfying. It leaves you in good shape, healthier in a lot of ways.
But it also takes a long term toll also.
Fuck wealthy people. They make is sound like they're the ones that create, when in reality they're more like the parasites that rely on the working people for everything. I don't have time to elaborate.
Paul harvey is my dad's great uncle. I never knew him or knew he was so great
Randy Price I cannot thank everyone enough for the positive comments, it means that much more coming from a Paul Harvey relative.
Good question I think his son was just never as interested in it although he has the talent to do it
+Randy Price I used to love to listen to Paul Harvey when I was a young boy growing up in Eastern North Carolina. He really spoke the truth.
Willie Bottoms Except once, when he actively supported the ERA.
That's awesome. I want to do a film on him one day soon (Documentary). I want the world to see this amazing man, this brilliant storyteller. Loved hearing him. A time lost not to long ago.
Every day at Lunch time Grandad and I listened to Mr Harvey!
I sure do miss paul harvey's wisdom & show at noon it was much better time's
I love the end where he talks about the sweat getting into the soil. Isn't it true that effort brings rewards not immediately seen, yet pays off with strength and hidden value?
thank you everyone for the great comments, keep them coming
Arthur Tavares hey, thanks for uploading this vid. i believe the entire world could better themselfs if only they could hear these words.
thanks again -jesse
Arthur Tavares, Jr. right on brother
Do you have the one he did on the television as a rude guest in the living room? Several people have suggested you as the most likely source, if it still exists.
Harold Sherrill let me see what I can do.
His voice reminds me of the good days
Rest in peace Paul.... You were and still are an icon.... You gave us faith, wisdom, hope, and were a beacon for good men to look towards for inspiration... You grew up in humble meager surroundings and learned from that about work... I hope when I cross over to the other side as you have done that I will have the opportunity to sit and visit with you about your life, your work, and how much you meant to me as a child growing up.... Good Day... :)
We need another one like Paul havey
Beautiful speech.
Thank you Akira the Don for bring me here.
I drove a delivery truck route in the 80s and would work harder in hope of being back on the road with the radio on in order to catch his news broadcast, and to see if I could guess who he was talking about during "The rest of the story."
Our country needs another Paul Harvey!
Someone else to take $150,000,000.00 from is? I don't think so. What we need is someone that doesn't have much at all in their bank account to fight against these Rich Tyrants who are against us.
This needs to be preached to millianials.
ericintohistory I agree .
ericintohistory and all you baby boomers should be taught how to spell. you should also spend less time on making baseless accusations maybe your kids are lazy but millenials aren't all lazy.
It's a long tradition for the older generation to blame younger generations for the world's problems, but the truth is it's the older generation that put in place the policies that have allowed and even encouraged the aspects of society that they deem negative.
BULL FUCKIN SHIT!!!!
You're wrong! It's always been the young generation that has always blamed the the generation before them for all the troubles in the world, just like what you're doing.
