That final showdown with the military outside the office building was impressive. To be the 80s and no CGI that was a helluva setup for Cannon
Cannon's action films were usually pretty damn good. Just wish they had stuck to doing that instead of overstepping their reach when they tried to take on bigger budget projects like Superman IV and Masters of the Universe which both bombed at the box office. The documentary Electric Boogaloo was quite informative about Cannon Films.

This should be a must-see every Christmas. Multiple channels should do 24-hour Invasion U.S.A. marathons. Chuck Norris saving America & Christmas from terrorists ranks right up there with other Christmas Classics like Lethal Weapon & Die Hard.
Red Dawn and Invasion USA are actually prophetic: this will happen in our lifetimes but it will be the Chinese Communist Party invading with the help of the Democrats and mainstream media. It's already begun. We need men like Chuck to stop it.

Invasion USA blew my mind last night & takes the cake: despite bazookas, cocaine, “Russians,” the “retired CIA guy” trope, the “sassy reporter chick” trope, double-Uzis, a big truck and Florida fan-boats, the story makes very little sense.

I would have definitely replaced Seagal with Van Damme. Never had time for Seagal, his sleazy personality creeps into every role he plays and he’s just a pitiful excuse of a man on the whole. Not to mention he barely has any good films. Chuck Norris isn’t a great actor and he’s made a lot of bad movies, but even then they’re usually entertainingly bad, and he’s a damn side more likeable overall despite his lack of charisma compared to other 80’s action heroes like Arnie.
