I apologize to viewers that seen this on the other channel. My intention was two fold. Get this Equipment as much exposure as i could since its for sale Get exposure for the other channel. Thanks for watching
My Dad purchased a David Brown 885 in 1975? perfect for WNC apple farming. Good machine anything bigger than a Ford 4600 was too big for apples. We grew pole beans, cucumbers in upstate SC in the spring, summer.paid farmers with huge tractors to plow and Disc the fields much faster and probably same $$$ when ya figure time fuel. We farmed with the Brown, Ford 4600, Ford 3000, and a Farmall cub to cultivate. A international loadstar and a ford 2x4 3/4 pickup. First 4x4 tractor i saw was 1981 a ford 1500 my high school purchased to bushhog hills. We didn't get a 4+4 or diesel pickup till 1987. Used the same old Green Meyers apple sprayer for 25 years. A young farmer today would say how the heck am i gonna farm with that equipment? No cabs no AC no filters system. We had mask that looked like we was gonna drive a top fuel funny car😂. We couldn't afford to look at a john Deere 😂 oh well we made a good living but worked our butts off.we Did maintenance on our equipment and cut tons of firewood in the winter fixed our little roads and trails, bridges. Were so happy when it snowed 4 tractors plowing roads, driveways . Wnc Hendersonville is hit or miss come snow. Can go 5 years without seeing enough to plow. And then it could snow 3 ft deep. We learned something the blizzard of 93. Put a pole flag on the scrape blades outside. 😂 Like to never found them. Thanks for showing the David Brown brings back good memories. God bless you sir.. subscribed
A hey Wiley just let you know the Massey Ferguson 290 was the one I liked more ,but it did not like cold weather when I worked on a farm when I was 55, I am 69and I like your videos, my dad had 1950 Massey hassis and it was used for snow plowing, manue loading ,it had a table saw, it was used for the grainder on the barn floor it was my favorite also helping dad, grandpa saw our wood good memorys
Excellent video Wiley :) , Jacob :).also yes those David Brown tractors great my Uncle John had 880 is gas motor with loader and 990 is Desiel no loader! His late brother Doug had David Brown dealer years ago too and gone out business since 2010 !
Good job Wily! That's a nice looking tractor. I wish I had the money to buy it, but somebody will and they'll be getting a good one! Thanks for sharing!
Interesting to see a David Brown 990. Horrible things to drive. Thirty years ago I helped a farmer driend of mine over a weekend leading round bales back to his farm. After four hours none stop driving my knees were seized up when I tried to get off it. I spent the rest of the day driving it stood up because it was more comfortable than being sat down. And before that I used to work on a farm with an 880 Selectomatic which had a power loader on it, that thing was a 3-itch to drive too. Another farmer friend of mine loves them so much he collects them. Going right back to when they were red and yellow. I am in the UK so there are plenty of David Brown tractors about.
Best tractor of their time, easy get a good seat for them, only thing I see is getting off tractor, you need to to be careful.,and people didn't look after them.
Great job Wiley and one of my relatives had a old Massey Ferguson tractor that he used for a long time plowing the field and turning to planting a garden and setting tobacco
Wily we have DB 990 diesel was our only tractor used daily from 1986 untill last year when we sold the orchard. their weak points are the steering and hydraulic pump.the selector switch on the right is for setting draft control. There is a control knob on the left that will lock the arms in the up position.David Brown and Case are almost interchangeable. Central California watching
Thanks for the video Wiley. Mabey I don’t remember right, but believe I saw this video before about week or so ago. I remember we talked about the price and the block being cracked. Good video though. Think that tractor could be made to be a handy tractor or paint it up nice for parades and such. Let us know what happens. Thanks Wiley. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.
It was in the other channel. I wanted to try get more exposure for the owner of the tractor and Let viewers know about new channel As always Steve, Thanks for sharing Thank you for watching
Im glad you are building your own channel, you and Jacob do a great job! I love watching all your videos but i hate it came between you and Hank! Yes some of his jokes are corney but if you were true friends i think y'all would work through it! Don't stop being friends because of other people's thoughts unless y'all were not friends to start with...
"Will it start? No. Of course not.: Thought to myself, probably dead battery. Got one right! That's one in a row! Nice job getting to going though, seems it wants to run OK.
Used to be John Deer and Ford were the most common tractors around here in North Central PA, but David Browns were also fairly plentiful. Nice work, Wily. What's up with that OBS Ford lurking in the background back there?
It does have a cracked block. I think its in a area where its not effecting the way engine runs or mixing water and oil but its losing water. Probably could seal it up
I had this on the other channel.you are right. It’s for sale and not many views on other channel I also did a plug for my channel Thank you for watching.
Fun fact everyone...Wiley and Hank are like DB & Ferguson...noticed your attitude change during the last handful of videos you made with Hank...don't blame you...I'm not watching his stuff anymore mainly because he's involved the lords scripture into youtube...this is not the place for spreading the word...just my opinion
So in your opinion where should someone share the good news of what Christ has done for them? Last I checked was hanks channel and he has freedom of speech and you got freedom of choice. It's OK to not want to hear it. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment We will all be judged I pray you realize your need for a savior before that day
@@JMRRebuilders Herein lies the problem...youtube obviously is a business and the lords word should not be spread to benefit one's self income...even when they mean the best intentions...this business is for entertainment only and should be treated as such
@oldmanmosh6056 so now we are making up bogus separation of church and business? Already made up a bogus separation of church and state. What's next. Brother, we live in the home of the brave and land of the free. Don't like it to move on as you said, but don't for a second think Hank can't share the good news on his channel. If that is the logic, where does it end?
@@JMRRebuilders Well this is exactly what Wiley and precious youtube wants...the comment section blowing up just because someone has an opinion...thank you sir...goodnight
Hey Wiley , if you’re charging those battries ( batteries) at home , put a rubber mat or a block of wood underneath them. The metal truck bed or concrete floor might be draining them down. Could be they’re just bad too. We gotta learnt these younguns a little bit a smarts. 😂. Watch out for them 🐍
