lisan al gaib!!!
James awesome room tour love those vinyl shelving the design is really cool. I always dug what you did to the technic turntable it looks killer and sounds stunning IMO. I’ve alway loved your content thanks for sharing James have a wonderful week.
Love the space, so open and bright. Love the genres for you, for me I would be searching all of the time to find out where I filed something for that particular day. Thanks, Chris
Good shit James. Nice and tidy. Tight collection. Fat free. lol. Beautiful bright space! Good energy for good music. Hope you are well. -K
Nice tour!!! Great stuff!
I just picked up pure a couple of weeks back it’s incredible well worth the long wait
wonderful video james!
Nice personal and eclectic collection
Enjoyed watching this tour. Love to see a well curated collection. I also go for less is more when collecting, keeping my collection around 1000 records. Cheers!
great looking room. l love the sections, make them however you want... l used to have over 20 sections, some l just made up. now l've reduced down to 14... l think.
One of my regrets has been not getting a 1200 when you could find them anywhere. I still keep an eye out for someone who doesn't know what they have. I have a friend in New York who built a lathe - don't know if he has done it just for his own amusement or has released anything. Sade is certainly funky to me, just slow funk. That Colin Blumstone record is outstanding. I've tried pairing my collection down, but its all so damn solid.
This is where I’m going with my collection. January 2019, I had 2300ish records. I’m down to around 1650. But I don’t have as many desirable/collectible albums as you do. Still holding on to a lot of namby pamby indie rock. Cheers ✌🏻
Nice!! That’s a very solid reduction. Yeah, that was the same for me, I eventually got rid of a lot of indie stuff from 2008-2016ish - I was sorta keeping it for nostalgia reasons but never really played them. At some point I had every Arcade Fire, The National and The Strokes album and nearly every Ryan Adams album (pre-cancelled) laugh😂
James…..Love that you’ve split up your collection over a couple of rooms. That way , records don’t overwhelm one room, but complement the others …love that Freedom Jazz France comp.
Amazing collection! Think I caught a brief glimpse of Fall in a Hole EP? Should be in your Flying Nun Section ;-)
Ahhhh you’re right! Along with sonic youth sister and Labradford
I have klipsch-RP600M and they work really well. On similar stands and setup as B speakers into living room/kitchen area. For the price you can’t go wrong. I got mine new with a good discount but second hand these are a steal.
Could you share any info on the record shelves you use?
Hey Josh - not sure they are available in the US but the company is here in NZ and they are called Lundia - the cubes are called Ecoboxes made from pine
Love it, your collection is goals ❤
just checked on your channel - no videos yet, yet it seems you're a fellow german music enthusiast?
@@bazedjunkiii_tv I would say more of a music enthusiast in general, not confined to any one category 😊
@@annael87well played. yet i was thinking more along the lines of you being a 'fellow german' and not a 'german music' enthusiast ;)
@@bazedjunkiii_tv oh I see- nope I’m mostly Italian and Irish lol
@@annael87so my assumption was wrong. yet no matter what - keep being enthusiastic about music!
Ha, there you go...tonearm hate! But wow cool room tour and love the space and feel of course. Which I've always noted. Impressed you've been able to keep the collection down to 1200 over the years. Would be hard for me to hit a similar goal unless I really change my perspective. Perhaps as I approach senior citizenship. The Flying Nun and New Zealand experimental stuff had me in a bit of a drool. What was the "rare one" pictured at ua-cam.com/video/MDrLDs8XdRo/v-deo.html? It looked familiar (and awesome) but don't know if I know that. Loved this though!
It’s called Four Stars **** should be able to find it on discogs and recently reissued. It’s pretty good but not worth the price tag!
That JD Emmanuel Wizards album is Awesome.
Amazing collection James and a wonderful room tour! Haha, yeah, the tone arm wouldn't beat the original in terms of looks for me, but I'm sure it sounds great. Incredible depth in your collections and so many splendid original pressings. Blows my mind that you can find all these in NZ. I live in a biggish city in Europe with a pretty great record store scene - but still, I have never seen many of the records you've picked up and would have to pay a fortune for some of those! And yes, Sade and Prince sit happily in my funk section. Best wishes mate!
Hey! I didn't spot the Calexico box set I always used to see on your shelves. Has that gone?
I'm not sure I could be quite so freeform in ordering my music, I'd probably lose records when I forget the new system. I realised the other day I don't pull records out to play I have on bottom shelves, due to a crap back. I really should rotate those up to eye level, where they might get played more. Oh well, Maybe sometime...
Cheers - Hedley
Short version of the story was a few years back my long term partner and I split up, and the Calexico box was hers so that went along with her! Good memory though.
Man, that's a ton of great records. The tonearm throws me off still but I love that it was upgraded using a local person/company. The weak point of any 1200 is likely gonna be the arm, so good choice . I tried some similar Klipschs a few years back (RP600s ?) but they were too bright for me. The shelves look killer. I take a look at Archer shelving now and then but the price gives me pause.
Even the way you organized the records is wonderful - I love when people color outside the lines. Hope all is well!
Cheers, Tom
greatc collection sir. a new sub. im old but love my music. its my escape. very nice set up. cheers from oz
im still learning lol.
Thanks for the sub!
I was wondering where your dope Jamaican section was. Saved the best for last.
I think I just got really lucky with some of that stuff over a short period, If I’m being honest it was only in the last 5 years I really started digging into reggae properly
Always fun to move the collection around and rediscover some albums. Trying my best to trim fat as well and keep the collection around 1200ish. What was that pollock looking jazz comp towards the end?
I think it is Spiritual Jazz 4: Americans in Europe. There’s a lovely Lee konitz piece on there. At the time most of names on it were completely new to me aside from Don Cherry. It was a big ear opener. It’s a 3xLP set too!
@@ButteryDigs thanks! Listened today. Was shocked by the Konitz! Not an album or tune I was aware of. Great stuff. Will have to see if I can find a reasonable copy. Cheers!
i've been trying to track down the album its from for ages..but i have a sneaky feeling that track might be a one-off and the rest of the album is just...ok

the arm on that turntable looks horrible.
why? like aesthetic wise, or just like.... not functioning?
Wizards!
So good right?
yes that definitely stands out.
Here I am thinking i should shave down from about 800 to 500 😅 … and ‘Parachutes’ is top stuff. Cheers - Dan
How many records are you at this days? from memory it looked pretty similar to mine..
@@ButteryDigs including whats in the inbox and outgoing few, its just under 800. Felt like too many when I moved.
@@vinylfuryI find it more impressive to see people having smaller collections than larger collections these days. You could reduce it down to 700 by getting my rid of any artists in your Klugh category 😂
I love the idea of organizing by genre or overall feel even, but I’d never find anything again as so much of what I listen too overlaps in multiple genres and disciplines. I tried for a while before deciding to just go alphabetical with a few exceptions which still have their own section
Totally, I guess its much easier to organise by genre/feel when you have a smaller amount of records - it would get very messy if i had double the amount
@@ButteryDigs Room(s) look great btw! Killer collection overall as well (even with the Coldplay)
lovely space, lots of natural light. the genre system stopped working for me after a while-- so much of what i have straddles multiple ones, couldn't find anything easily. 13:49 :unsubbing
