Great story. Love seeing him and his son bond over music. That just creates those magical moments not only now, but years down the road when dad has pasted away from old age and every time you hear all these songs ....you remember the time when.... and it's like dad is right back there with you!

This is so cool, I totally get where he is coming from. Nothing beats that feeling of finding that record you have been looking for. This is a true enthusiast 😊

a milestone on vinyl collection… great!
Love everything about this. Amazing video and story!
Great vid and beautiful music room you have, very enjoyable to watch and really appreciate your passion for vinyl record albums. I also enjoy collecting music in all formats. I do enjoy streaming, but there is nothing like holding a record album, even a cd, while reading about the artist. I won’t even get into the joy it brings collecting the 45 rpm with picture sleeves. Take care, keep on collecting while enjoying the music.
Hi this so great to see you enjoying your vinyl records/music with your friends /family -i m a big vinyl record collector my main passion is for jazz/blues -keep on collecting -a great hobby!
Beautiful storage units! I'm envious 😀
A man after my own heart…I too listened to the late great John peel and it opened my mind to so much music I wish I could thank him personally for that…
I have 4000 LPs and I'm learning how to shelve them correctly. This video is wonderful! Thanks you!
Really inspirational 👏
Great guy! Following him and in contact with him on Instagram for years.
Excellent story.. So glad to see his family so involved which could only mean his legacy will continue. Well done....

Very cool collection
What a lovely family and classy
Awesome I follow this family on Instagram always great albums 🎉
Same here.. such an awesome video
I used to listen to Casey Kasem’s top 40 every Sunday night on my small transistor radio; I’d put it under my bed and invariably never got to hear the top 5 as I always fell asleep.
I didn’t realise it was done by sending a record to each radio station every week!
I Really love this clip.
What a great way to bond with his boy, nice guy
This guy is awesome
so wholesome 🥲💗😊
I have quite a vinyl collection myself (however not large enough to require a ladder), but I agree. There's something warm and analong about playing music on vinyl. I sold half my collection and sometimes regret it. However, massing a large amount of vinyl just takes up too much space.
I’ve been following him through instagram for a while. Love his collection.

@record broker Yes
Love it!
I knew a LP collector in Singapore by the name of Ashley. He was in advertising then, back in the early 90’s. Just lost contact and would like to reach out
Me 20 years old have this dream since 5 years ago. Yes i was into vinyl when i was young.
Father of the year.
If you are interested in the Book the CK is reading at the end of this video please leave a comment! It's a book I wrote and published collating interviews with record collectors around the world (including CK!)
Aloha,
Great Video, looking forward to watching your next video.

So the son shows some Tchaikovsky to his father...you don't see that very often...great! A wonderful library by the way. Cheers from Switzerland.
Very cool, does he have records from Mari Ijima and Seiko Matsuda?
Much classier than people who collect underwear, shoes and bags.
There are all kinds of people in this world.
Does his wife still with him ?
@@defcreator187 👍Good supportive wife
vintage local/regional artist vinyl records are rarer than international artists as they were produced in limited quantity for local market.
I love to see he has Kimono My House! Sparks are the best!
great, great, great
Singapore is also a shopping heaven for Hi-Fi equipment. What you can get in Akihabara Tokyo, you can get in Singapore or most of it.
Nice.
Kindly suggest a Plan for
9- Abandoned Records
2- 50℅ Records
3- 25℅ Records
Post covid early this 2023, i some how believe the world is different, with my lovely pre 1980 became obsolete.
Because i hv been listening to you tube music and mews mostly, and saw that the latest music hv billion of views, while the most popular of the 60s and 70s mostly bellow 40 millions views.
I myself rarely turned on my big system, mostly playing music thru my hp + my own modified bt speakers/headphones.
Now I find that in the supermarket they still play the music from the 70s. In people parks area there are still 60s and 70s hk music. In Batam which I went few days ago, the mega mall was playing The look of love, of course in Jakarta most places are playing Frank Sinatra, Net King Coles, Paul Mauriat. Though I hv yet to hear Mantovani and Andy Williams.
The old music didn't disappear, except no money in it for the music company to produce.
And I didn't believe people like the new music so much that they listen to it to enjoy a billions times. Most likely they were promoted/pushed to the play list for those who bothered to follow the latest wave.
Btw I still hv perhaps 700 to 800 lp, except i didn't set up my turntable as my children growing up. Now they are all married, i hv yet to decide
Vinyl is the best
Nice one 👍
I like this. Looks like a larger collection than 8ooo.
It's really nice to see a record collector now at this stage where everything is going digital. I love to listen music from records.I really salute you for this hobby.

I know a guy in Hong Kong with 100,000 records. He sleeps on them. Look up Paul from Sham Shui Po. ( Vinyl hero)
Is that the guy that says to wet scratched up records?
@@alanrogs3990 yeah he always sprays his records with water lol
@@ObscureSampology It's stupid.
That Hong Kong guy buys or more like pick up indiscriminately, as long as it's vinyl. He doesn't care if it's in good condition or if it's something he listens to. There is no music passion in him.
@kinmunwong5130 not true, I've met him. He acquired a lot of his stock years ago when ut was literally been thrown away. He's a great guy, very passionate about music.
Great video…. I follow this vinyl collector on Instagram
Stereo VHS tape have more dynamic range than LP ..
are there many like Yourself in Singapore, Sir ?
is it really a market for the vinyl in Singapore ?
Overall, Singapore is an affluent country so I am confident that there are many audio enthusiasts there..
@@ptg01 no any doubt about,
just asked about the facts.
There is a niche scene here for record collecting. There is a healthy number of record stores too. Most enthusiasts here either know one another or have acquaintances in the same circle.
Also, some obviously spend a lot of money and effort into their collection. Some like myself, not so much. 😁

Close your eyes and listen to him speak - he sounds like Georges St Pierre
That's an amazing collection. I got up to around 1500 LPs at one point and I thought I had a lot lol

This guy have a lot of money
I follow him on the gram.
I hope you, a long playing album, michael Jackson, tommy page, filipino song christmas, four non blonde
1,200 is the most expensive??? I find that hard to believe. Maybe the most he's paid for one, but it can't be the one that holds the most value......
Finally, it's nice to see a wife who accepts the vinyl record passion of her husband.
All vinyl release from 1950s or 1960s
You're vinyl collector
If my parents is billionaires I think I can enjoy all this you need money to enjoy this hobby.
You can do this on a budget or go big like this guy. All up to you and how much you are willing to spend. Space is a factor, at a certain point you just have to stop buying.
