I bought this backpack almost a year ago and got it shipped to Indonesia where I live. With shipping + customs it costed around $200. But definitely worth the money, best backpack I’ve ever purchased! Currently considering to buy an Aer Day Sling 2 for my EDC when I’m not carrying a macbook/ipad. Great video man, cheers!
Thanks, Angga! The sling looks great. I'm considering the Go Pack next. It's a great concept to have a foldable pack for longer trips where you want to have a small backpack at your destination.
This makes me want to do a video of all the bags I've tried in the last 3-4 years, lol. Most of them are tactical bags with molle straps so I can add pouches, medkits & water bottle compartments based on needs. I have tac bags for luggage, camera/video gear, drone gear, tools, a go-bag for emergencies and everyday carry gear. Camera/video - I've got a sling bag for my canon gear that has a couple additional pouches for extra lens, cleaning equipment, etc - the other is a (yes, reluctantly) a fanny pack but also shoulder strap that has my Sony DSLR, lens, GoPros and accessories, etc. My everyday carry bag that I'm now on is very similar to the video that packs down and is slim based on what is in it but expands if you need it. It has a compartment for laptop and iPad (but room for Camelbak water pouch), a large pouch that I have a full bag of all the dongles (one of my only complaints with Apple - Displayport, thunderbolt, USB-C, etc), audio/video/network/etc cables, MedKit, 3 external SSD drives, precision screwdrivers and iPhone/iPad repair kits, etc. Another compartment for secure/sensitive items. Another full compartment for my custom in-ears (I saw your video on the noise-cancelling headphones - as a musician, I wouldn't be able to work without custom in-ears molded to my ears - 1964 ears), and more hard drives/thumbsticks, power brick that charges anything via USB with it's built in battery, etc. Yes, I'm made fun of for having a large backpack sometimes and have scaled up and down - but love it when I'm able to save the day when I have what I need on me. Right now I'm at a great medium close to this bag that has more than what I need but not a 2 day hike bag that weighs more than myself. Always humored that you do a video on backpacks, headphones, etc - things not built by Apple but I've gone through dozens of similar solutions and delved into the same areas and glad to see you guys have the same passion for detail! :)
Love this! When are you publishing your video‽‽‽ You are involved with a lot of activities, so it makes sense that your "carryall" bag needs to have a lot of space. Apple has great attention to detail, and I think they've done a wonderful job bringing that care and effort to the masses. And it's so fun to discover new companies that have the same attention to detail with smaller budgets. Awesome to hear from you. Let me know when you get a video up!
I have the Aer Tech Pack simply to allow me to carry paperwork (I'm a PhD student) and to use as a carry-on for long-haul travel. As you say, very similar overall to the Day Pack. I also love Aer's zipper pulls which make opening the pack really easy in a darkened aircraft cabin or outside when you're wearing gloves.
Nice. I agree, zipper pulls are very nice touch, I didn't mention it! Even the handle on the top of the pack has just the right heft. Thanks for watching!
Hey Mellany! I think you could do the books and a hoodie if you're not planning on packing for other daily activities. But we're talking 2-3 books maximum. The Tech Pack would have ample space to keep other essentials: notebooks, headphones, workout clothes, etc. Think about the Day Pack like a slimmer version of most book bags, and the Tech Pack like a typical book bag with ample space to stuff a lot into it. Hope that helps!
I usually wear a suit almost 3/5 days a week and I carry a 15-inch Macbook pro as well. I've been in search of a backpack/messenger bag that can carry my laptop, the cables, and my lunchbox as well (this is where it gets tricky). I usually carry my lunch with me and finding a backpack/messenger bag that can accommodate all of the above without being extremely bulky/boxy has been a nightmare. I would love to get some recommendations. Thanks!
Hey Wadiyatalkinabeet! Indeed that is a tricky problem! I'm not too sure if the Day Pack would fit the lunch box. I'd go to their site and read the measurements to see if it fits. If you like the look of the Day Pack but want more storage, it has an older sibling called the Tech Pack, which is almost identical with more storage. Outside of that, check out Chase Reeves UA-cam channel for deep dives into all sorts of packs. Good luck!
BigBabaBrand Yes and I’ve seen it in person. That’s totally a design decision. I personally want a full backpack or a full briefcase. The nomatic is a solid pack, but bigger and boxier. Just depends on your design preference.
Thanks, Chinmay. The nomadic ended up being bigger than what we needed, and the minaal was just significantly more expensive without much discernible advantage. After having the Aer, the quality is surprisingly amazing, especially given the price.
Loved the review but having a tough time deciding between fit pack 2 and the day pack. I’m going to be a student in the next coming months but like to keep things down to a minimal. I’ve also got my Nintendo switch I love to bring with me plus all my little gadgets like power bricks, cables, 14” chrome book and over headphones. What is your take on this?
Hey Evan! Looks like the Fit Pack is more suited to stuffing clothes and shoes into it... if you want more of a big space to throw stuff. Whereas the Day Pack is designed for daily carry like books, computer, notepads, etc. Do you want to carry gym clothes? If not, then the Fit Pack may have compartments that aren't really useful to you. :)
Thanks TheBogeySmalls! Bummer about the pack, but not surprised with back-to-school season. It'll be worth the wait. Which cable organizer did you get?
Hey AE. Can't speak for every scenario, but for the 4 of us that have the pack, going for over a year now, there are zero signs of wear or peeling on the coating.
Do you find the surface material easily scratched? I have the Nomatic bag and it's just frustrating when I have to be extra cautious where I set it down or store it while I am traveling/on the go.
Hi Okawa Tan. Great question. No, the bag you see in the video has been used daily for almost a year. It's done a great job holding up with setting it down, car rides, etc. I haven't done any rough camping or anything with it.
@@laa8388 I think I'm going with the Aer Tech Pack, just because it seems to be a little larger. I like to carry all of my tech stuff with me on my daily commute. :)
Thanks for the review - have the Aer tech sling and was thinking of getting one of the backpacks. One question about this bag - is the chest sternum strap removable?
Not sure how large the drone is but I'd definitely go with the tech pack. The Day Pack is a great bag for a computer/iPad and accessories, but not much extra "gear".
Anton Karandeev Kind of a bummer. The rest of the bag is so good, and reasonably priced, that we saw past it. Doesn’t mean I don’t want it to be elevated!
cool video, but too much zoom =/ I couldnt even see the bag in its 'big picture'. Maybe if you mix zoom in and zoom out images it would be better (just my opinion here)
Yes! It's made for the 15" which and even that has at least an inch of space. And the 16" is only about 1/4 inch taller than the 15". Same for width, only slightly wider, so you'll be good.
Yes you could keep a few, however there are no designated cushioned compartments built for lenses so you would need to keep them in lens cases or individual sleeves. I would check their website to see if they have any photography specific bags.
Ha! It can fit a decent size, because it's elastic. Probably not a 1L Nalgene bottle for example, but it can fit a cycling/workout water bottle easily.
😂 if you got hit with a fire hose, you’d be sliding across the pavement. Great review- thank you!
Aer daypack 2 (new) has a suspended laptop compartment and side water bottle holder.
Oh man, so excited about that! I guess our new hires will be getting the better pack. :)

hahahah loving this. As I pull my computer out of my Aer Fit Pack 2!
Aer make great products.
Too good! Cheers!
Can not decide if I should get the Day pack or Fit Pack 2
@@westcoastlife7885 same
West Coast Life788 I couldn’t decide which one to get too, so I ended up getting both. Both are great backpacks.
I’m stuck between getting the day pack or the tech pack. I’m in college and was wondering which one you’ll think would hold a hoodie and some books??

Watching this with my Aer Day Pack by my side. The embroidery is so cool, I wish Aer will implement that in their future concepts.
Yes!! 🤘Thanks for chiming in, John. Yeah, the embroidery is solid!
Looks good definitely gonna check these out my backpack is falling apart now.
Perfect timing. 😜

Have you looked at the Nomatic Backpack yet?
BigBabaBrand Yes and I’ve seen it in person. That’s totally a design decision. I personally want a full backpack or a full briefcase. The nomatic is a solid pack, but bigger and boxier. Just depends on your design preference.
One of the best reviews I found on this bag. Would love to know your thoughts on how you compared to nomatic and minaal.
Thanks, Chinmay. The nomadic ended up being bigger than what we needed, and the minaal was just significantly more expensive without much discernible advantage. After having the Aer, the quality is surprisingly amazing, especially given the price.

Really digging your content. Pretty bummed that the day pack is on backorder til sometime next month. But pick dup one of the cable organizers.
Thanks TheBogeySmalls! Bummer about the pack, but not surprised with back-to-school season. It'll be worth the wait. Which cable organizer did you get?
Would u say that laptop compartment is big enough for notebooks/sketchbook/books in general? College/university wise that is
Hey Anthony! For sure, the laptop compartment can fit a couple of notebooks, if not more.
does the PU coating on the outer layer peel with long-term use?
Hey AE. Can't speak for every scenario, but for the 4 of us that have the pack, going for over a year now, there are zero signs of wear or peeling on the coating.
Thanks for the reply! Gonna place my order for gen 2 now :)

Hi, will the laptop compartment fit a 16 inch MacBook Pro?
Hey Sherri! Doing the math, it should be just fine, but I haven't personally tried it. I'd give it a shot!
@@laa8388 I think I'm going with the Aer Tech Pack, just because it seems to be a little larger. I like to carry all of my tech stuff with me on my daily commute. :)
Sherri Booher makes sense! If I needed to carry more, no question I would stay in the Aer family and just go with the Tech Pack
Thanks for the review - have the Aer tech sling and was thinking of getting one of the backpacks. One question about this bag - is the chest sternum strap removable?
Yes! At least the Day Pack's sternum strap is removable (Justin removed his). I would assume other Are packs are the same.
You just sold me this bag ;) great video though.
Sorry/not sorry. And since we made this video, Aer has released their Gen 2 version of this bag. Even better.
Goddamn I want this bag.
Other than notebooks and iPad , some times I’ll need to bring gimbal and drone with me, shall I get the tech pack or day pack better?
Not sure how large the drone is but I'd definitely go with the tech pack. The Day Pack is a great bag for a computer/iPad and accessories, but not much extra "gear".
nice review, does the bag fit an 15,6" HP elitebook 850
Thanks, jaefrog94! Yes, sure will! Up to a 15.6" laptop. And yours looks very thin, so shouldn't be a problem.
It blows my mind how you can make a laptop compartment that's not elevated. Why ever bother then.
Anton Karandeev Kind of a bummer. The rest of the bag is so good, and reasonably priced, that we saw past it. Doesn’t mean I don’t want it to be elevated!
The bottom is pretty heavily padded. Worth it, and I carry a spec’d out 2018 15inch MacBook Pro
cool video, but too much zoom =/ I couldnt even see the bag in its 'big picture'. Maybe if you mix zoom in and zoom out images it would be better (just my opinion here)
Thanks, Leo. Truly appreciate the feedback!
Sorry unrelated, but why the blatant ripoff of a name from Fuji 🤔. Did you guys get in trouble with them.
Hey JelloG! It’s my favorite apple, just didn’t want to have the same spelling. 😉 No trouble at all.
Loved this video-Great Job as always
Thank you Frank! 🙏
You should do a "Whats on my Desk" and would love to see a Foojee Office Tour
Love it! Great idea, thanks, Mr. Shawn.
does it fit the 16inch macbook pro?
Yes! It's made for the 15" which and even that has at least an inch of space. And the 16" is only about 1/4 inch taller than the 15". Same for width, only slightly wider, so you'll be good.
Wish you would take a couple steps back from your camera so we could see the whole bag
love your videos
Thanks, DyniaX! 🙏
What are the exact measurements of the packaging?
Hey Carl!
Length: 18" (46 cm)
Width: 12" (30.5 cm)
Depth: 5.5" (14 cm)
Is there enough space to keep DSLR & lenses in it????plz ans
Yes you could keep a few, however there are no designated cushioned compartments built for lenses so you would need to keep them in lens cases or individual sleeves. I would check their website to see if they have any photography specific bags.
6:40 That has to be really small water bottle?
Ha! It can fit a decent size, because it's elastic. Probably not a 1L Nalgene bottle for example, but it can fit a cycling/workout water bottle easily.
I have this bag and I can easily fit a 21 oz Hydrofask bottle inside the elastic sleeve. It stays put too.
The video gives too much attention to the reviewer, rather than the product being reviewed.
lol an "apple consultant" so cringe
