In 1994 I bought Hole´s Live through this. I was 18 years old and I hadn´t heard anything like it. I was in chock. That changed my life and the music helped me survive high school. One of the best records ever made.
I love Melissa Auf Du Mar’s backing vocals. They really add so much more to what is already great music. Such a mesmerizing vocal harmony to go along with Courtney’s explosive voice,
this has got to be one of the best songs from my teenage years. i owe a lot to Hole, Nirvana, L7, and Silverchair, and Soul Asylum, they got me through some tough times
This is my favorite Hole song. I saw Hole in concert four times in college. It was always a wild ride. I don't think there ever released this as an American album-- "Hole Unplugged." I got a copy from Italy years ago though. Still plays. LOVE IT.
And this is in all respect, but when I first saw this, I remember thinking that this is the personification of a very angry woman. Very pissed off lady. And damn if it doesn't still give me chills today.
I wish she would do another album with the band. Crowd fund it, your real fans, like me, will pre-order❤❤❤❤ I am forever grateful that you are still with us, Courtney Love. Peace, love and respect from me to you❤❤❤❤
yeah thats what I want to do I'm doing some vocal training to try and get on pitch and lose that girlish tone I have, and I want to be able to play so I can do rhythm like Courtney does.
@@baller-vh2kn I prefer the Pagan Babies version. They formed in 1985 & released a demon tape in 1986. Courtney was lead vocals, Kat Bjelland (from Babes In Toyland) was lead guitar & backing vocals (they formed the band), Janis Tanaka - bass & Deirdre Schletter - drums. The four songs on the demo are Cold Shoulders, Bernadine, Best Sunday Dress & Quiet Room. Jennifer Finch (bassist from L7) was a part of the band under the name Sugar Babydoll prior to this release. The demo can be found on UA-cam.
@@baller-vh2kn I'm pretty sure Kat wrote Bernadine & Quiet Room which both appear on Babes in Toyland albums, I think & Courtney wrote Best Sunday Dress, at least for the most part. I love both versions & they're both so different. I love the retro 80's dream pop style of Pagan Babies, it's kind of romantic at times, the lyrics & melody changes are amazing & they're like a mix of pop & rock. I love their aesthetic, too, their style & the photoshoots, kind of romantic, 80's goth.
i know. i'm honestly, not a big fan of her music now, and i think she looks SOO different. but i really really really love Hole. a lot of people i know love nirvana & hate hole. apparently in this world you can't love both. sad.
I had this on VCR taped the whole thing off TV when it was on... have since lost tape....... does anyone know where i can get full recording of it? Shit i'll even pay!
I'm going to do something about this when I grow up. I'm going to salvage music like this. I'm going to make music that will at least attempt at my best to re-kindle amazing stuff like this. I have to. I'm going to put the emotion and art back into the music. And while all the other 14 year old kiddies are dubsteping everything I'll be trying to put the pieces back together... I hope so, anyway.
you're so fucking lucky o.o i wish i could have seen hole during the live through this era at least once. but i never did, and i still don't. if i can't see courtney live till the day i die, i will die very unhappy.
Have you got full set shotterslife?! Post it! Post It! I dont think this unplugged session got enough credit when it was first on mtv, hence no dvd's, cd's etc..do it for the hole fans shotter! ;)
Lucky Kid, all I've seen is the Cranberries "very best of unplugged" there's two Cd's and and one song each from the Cranberries. It seems like they didn't print a lot of performance onto CD, I can only name a few, that I actually have a licensed copy of. I'm surprised this never went on disc either. Yes the Doors were artistic, little can be said now about our boob flashing music.
Oh you have no idea of how right you are. Adorable? She's America's Sweetheart ! Everything about her becomes ELECTRIC when she screams. It's like ball of feminine fury lashing out to her desire and ionizing the very air around her that creates an aura of absolute ECSTASY. She builds *dreams* when she screams !
It's sad because its an amazing band. People seem to judge them musically by their dislike for Courtney before they even listen to them.
hole is such a good band and Courtney was/isa powerful song writer/ performer
@@johnwednesdaylapp2446 kurt wrote this song

I love how she snarls the word "dress" like it's a curse word or some disgusting thing.
That’s the best part!!
I looooooove her shouts 💖💖💖love this band and of course Courtney 💖
For an exotic dancer I suppose a dress might be a dirty word
@@PiedPooper-gh6cnLMAO
Her screaming is always on point

The same for me🤗
Same, that album got me through so much shit.
I agree with you
“Live through this,” right in the midst her killin’ streak. What a “coincidence.”
Most people underrated singer/songwriter of the 90s. So powerful, so kick ass, so punk.
I love Melissa Auf Du Mar’s backing vocals. They really add so much more to what is already great music. Such a mesmerizing vocal harmony to go along with Courtney’s explosive voice,

She's sooooo gorgeous!!!!!
I miss the old Courtney so much...
"pale blue eyes" is the best part of this song.
Courtney Love rocks! I miss the 90's.... I miss Seattle Grunge Era. Priceless...... Nothing will ever compare to it in my eyes.
the harp is out of this world!

There’s a lot of heart break in this song
This is so fucking perfect: Courtney screaming with Melissa's soft/sweet voice in the back(:
I missed unplugged back when MTV was cool. Hole was my fave band growing up.
Ive always loved Hole🖤♥️ good night band 🎸👍🏻
I love the way how her sing-screaming looks and sounds so effortless...what a voice!
Hole kicks ass because of songs like this
I LOVE COURTNEY. ALWAYS HAVE. ALWAYS WILL.
God I loved this Unplugged. Waited forever and they never released it. Auf der Maur and Love's voices harmonizing together are perfection.
This album Unplugged is the best, I feel a great connection with this band
I love this version of the song
This is my all-time favorite Hole song. Hands down.
Classic Rock! Love and Loved that Band~ one of the best
