Welcome to another Episode of Ross Reviews AU on this weeks Video we test out this New Ranger Raptor that has been Tuned by BPT Motorsport.. with an upgraded Intercooler, Trans cooler, Aluminum piping + an ECU tune this is no standard Raptor anymore.. with power going from 292kw to 360kw! 0-100... well see for yourself it's bloody fast!

Great review of the Raptor! The tuners have done a really good job modifying this Ute. The early results are quite impressive, imagine what they could do in a few years.

Impressive for a ranger gotta say. Not a huge fan with the sound of the motor but way better then the old 4 and 5 cylinders they used to have

I’ve got the herrod package on my raptor, 4A, sports mode, baja exhaust mode in manual from first gear is the best setting I’ve found. 5.02s 0-100 spinning all 4 off the line

How much did the herrod package cost? looking at doing it to mine.
@@RossReviewsau no worries mate, it took a while to work it out. Averaged 5.9 flat stock with them settings, average with the tune is 5.2 so far, not as easy to get it perfect now with the wheel spin, definitely capable of high 4.8s on the track.
@@rhyswoodman6781 $5950 includes Intercooler, trans cooler, oem quality tune and transmission tune. Well worth it, especially if you tow or go dune bashing. Maintains the factory warranty as well which other tunes won’t.

What’s this R mode? Is it Baja mode? Haven’t heard of R mode on the Ranger Raptor before. Or is it something from the custom tune?
R mode is just a user set prefernece of combination of selections
What size engine is this?
Can we please know what system they are using to crack the ecu? here in Norway we have the 295hp and no one can tune them

With over 800 newton metres of torque, i was thinking mid to high 4's! I still think there's too much tech dictating the power delivery as it still hesitates off the mark when you tromp it.

Hi Ross, great video. Great news for ute/truck lovers, this work is well and truly overdue.
However, for sedan lovers we need to try and find a good mechanically sound which hasn't been in an accident is becoming more difficult to find.

Ross can punch an auto on auto settings. He cant drive a real manual car for shit. Check out his gts times. Everyone else manages gts manual times circa 4.5-4.6 sec. This dude is 6sec.
298 kw on fly wheels and generate about 252 kw on dyno
And 359 kw on the hub dyno or fly wheel ?

Is the new car warranty still on?
How were they able to Crack the ECU coding? If this ECU has the same encryption as the Ford/Amarok next Gen V6 diesel - it’s supposedly next to impossible from the feedback I’ve received.🤦♂️

Interesting. The dark side boys have managed to get the old v6 diesel amarok to do 0-100km in 4.9 seconds with 300kw on the Dyno. This petrol should be faster
Was 37 degrees and a lot of settings.. I think it’s got the chance to match a 4.9 on ideal runs

*edit apparently Herrod get these similar performance with a 2PSI increase only. Incredible stuff really. Comes down to the engine being wound right back on factory timing?
Bro it’s right in front of you.. I don’t cheat nothing on these tests.. stock pulled a 6.5 with the mods we got a 5.4 on a 37 degree day
I didn’t watch the stock video so not sure what setting Jon played with in that one, but can assure you along with the rest of the aus car community Jon does gods work here, no funny business.

The 1O speed auto changes quick and under full throttle it just keeps it up high in the rev range. It looks like it would just keep pulling through all the gears. You only got to 4th, imagine going through all of them. It would be insane. At 5.2 seconds O-1OOkmh, this Raptor is dusting so many other performance cars from a dig or a roll race.💯
Like which performance cars? 5.2 isn't that quick.
It didn’t do 5.2. Saying it might is not the same as doing.
@@xk2fg It was 37°c and still pulling those times. If it was 5°c or less in Winter it would be even quicker. 5.2 isn't that quick I know, but it is quick for a 2 ton plus 4x4 Ute in 37°c heat. A Kia Stinger does 5.O-5.2 just as an example of "performance car" I dont want to argue. Have a nice day.👍👍

What I have noticed though is with the straight rangers, apparently both the diesels and the v6 wild track must be the fastest cars on the road. That is why there is no need for them to worry about undertaking at +30km/hr on the lanes to the right, or tailgating you so close they could be checking you for melanoma.
If you drive below the speed limit move into the left lane and let people past. simple.

Isn't the American version a 3.5 ltr as ours is 3.0

Fords Warranty would stand as long as the upgrades didnt affect it.. so some of the warranty would be lost engine n drive line I guess

Who said the normal person earning $40/hr is supposed to afford one? The XLS with the 4 cylinder are for those people. I know a few people with these, ones a Real Estate agent, one is a plumber with a couple of boys working for him and the other is an excavator contractor...all three of them would be earning easily 200K plus, and the car would also be a tax deduction.

I'm confused here. Ford listed the stock numbers of 0-60 in 5.8 and you have 200nm more and 75kw more and you're barely improved (in some modes you're doing worse) something tells me they don't quite have it cracked like you think they do. You should be turning stability control off as well i would bet

I own a FG Mk11 GT have tuned her and maxed out the stock injectors at 413 rwkw. Next is bigger intercooler, injectors and pulleys wheel 🛞 oh yeah fuel pump ⛽️. Power is addictive, my friend. Love your videos, maybe if I go Helter skelter on the donk 🙄 you might have her on one of your videos 😊

I'd NEVER pay that much for 1 of them trucks! In USA maybe $52-56K OTD... At the end of the day it's still ONLY a mid-sized 🛻💨 I bought a 2022 Tacoma TRD off-road 6-speed manual, basic 📦 $41k out the🚪with 120K 7 year warranty + gap! These ranger raptors & Tacoma trail hunters are going to be almost double that price OTD for a set-up similar to what I got with warranty n' shit 🤷🖕🏻 them prices... Besides that awesome fun & good looking truck if u have an endless wallet lol. Good info & review God bless 🙏💯👍👍 USA market FYI
