800kms from a 140lt tank. That’s rough. Gotta pay to play I guess. I used forscan on a PX2 to configure the larger tank. Worked sweet no issues. It’s good to have the gauge working correctly, no doubt the car nerds will work it out soon.
Playing is expensive 😂 Gauge works as per factory it’s just DTE reading that’s a firmware thing calculated to 80L tank. Ford will need to update it in the over the air updates for Raptor.
@@TyFenwick Yeah that’s weird if the gauge is working correctly but DTE no good. They must calculate DTE differently now. If it’s calibrated to a 140lt tank and gauge works sweet u would think DTE would be good too.
Please post an update here, also, when you have more information on if the instrument panel shows a longer range for the larger fuel cell. As well assd if you are able to come up with some other solution as to how to more accurately display the fuel level and distance till empty. I don't have instagram, so I won't see any updates there. Also, how much does this cost please? The website does not say. I am VERY interested in this product. Thanks for posting!

Hi Ty, I have the long ranger installed on my Raptor and tried to get Ford to recalibrate it. They advised that they dont have the capability yet. How did your recalibration using Forscan go?
I’ve personally spoken to Ford engineers and they are not doing fuel capacity calibration on Raptor at this stage. It’s a software thing that only they can fix. I’ve just left mine as it.
@@TyFenwick Thanks for getting back to me. Its a bit frustrating with the gauging in that when it says 80 klm left it only takes 90 litres to fully refuel.
Hi mate, Unfortunately you can't get the DTE to work as its an internal Ford software thing. We have tried everything but nothing has worked. However the guage still works.
Is that just nsw or what,? Would be a totally fuller Information session giving this basic info state to state and regarding engineering and mod plating. My interpretation is qld may need some form of Inspection or mod plate to be good with insurance and the likes.
What do you estimate the reduction in clearance. Didn’t do before/after on mine but I’m certain I’ve lost clearance. Guessing about 50mm. Maybe more. Can confirm they’re robust. Mines taken a few hits and has probably lost a few L’s of capacity with a big ding in the underside….
It looks to be not much I don’t think compared to stock. To many pros in my opinion not to fit the tank, not stoping for fuel every second day is awesome.
Are you able to order and they shipped to your house? Or was it like? Do you have to be there? I have a 2024 ford ranger raptor I was planning to get a bigger tank as well
I’ve personally msged the engineer from Ford. They won’t change it as it’s a steel tank in a petrol car and has not crash tested. Only tank that can be done is the V6 diesel tanks from ARB.
@@TyFenwick yeah wow that's a bummer then having to rely on the trip counter to roughly track kms. would of thought a major company like arb would have a tested petrol tank for the raptor by now. is what it is i guess. thanks for the information
Can someone clear something up for me please. One of the 2 company's I've found that imports this tank to the US, site says will NOT fit the Ranger Raptor, but the title of this video says otherwise. Which is correct?
There could be differences with AUS raptor VS American raptor. Long ranger build many different tanks, the one you’re looking at might be for the standard Ranger.
This is one of your US fans. Is this going to be available in the US? I have looked at the website and I’m very interested in the upgraded skid. I will be smashing it in the rocks.
@@TyFenwick hopefully they will make a 115L version with a beefy skid plate. I’ll buy one and pay the crazy shipping. Destructive testing is what I’m good at.
DTE can’t be calibrated unfortunately it’s a ford software issue. Gauge works as normal and say around 580ks till empty. So once you use that top extra Amount of fuel it operates normally.
No problem with fuel gauge. The DTE is a algorithm in the Ford Firmware so it only recognises a 80L tank and calculates accordingly. Unless Ford changes it to work with bigger tanks, it just takes long for the gauge to move down now while your driving. About 800ks you’ll get
Can confirm no real issues. Gauge reads full first couple hundred Ks. DTE sits at what it would be with 80L full tank. After it gets below 80L DTE is accurate if you keep your avg L/100 consistent! I just reset trip every time I fill to get a gauge on how much I’ve used in the intervening period until DTE reads right.
Hi mate, Yes I am looking to get it done. Everything on the raptor so far has been helped by sponsors so it allows me to get videos out quick. The Herrod install I had to put on the back burner. Unfortunately my priorities to buy things for my business came first 😅 Il be getting it done in the new year.

I am running 35s so numbers might be off a bit. With the Herrod Performance setup it drops a fair bit I’ve been told but if fuel economy is what your after raptor chews it

Had a 145lt LongRanger tank on the dmax for 9 years without a single issue
Bloody awesome reputation 👍🏼
You’d think being software an easy update and the world’s happy again ! Good luck with it and loving the content !
Yeah I’ve spoken directly to ford engineers about it. Hopefully they allow us to update the software to the tank.
35's are turning slower than 33's over the same distance. Therefore, the odometer will actually show kilometers that are less than actually covered.
Around 500 miles, not bad for the thirsty beast.

Yep the gauge works on the screen as the fuel goes down it’s just the DTE that Ford will need to change in the Firmware updates.
Try EZ lynk. I used one on on my 2019 f250 when I put the S and B filters tank on. It took maybe 5 mins to reprogram.
Great channel Ty, I have an orange one - absolutely love it - did ford manage to sort the dte yet to your knowledge?

Unfortunately it’s an internal Ford software issue. So no haven’t changed it.
Get the contract Ty for World Motocross back to Aus 👍

Unfortunately you can't get the DTE to work as its an internal Ford software thing. We have tried everything but nothing has worked. However the guage still works.
Is this additional tank, or you’re replacing the factory tank?
Did you watch the video ?
One question: Did you change the Springs because of the extra weight?
And what about ground clearance, any changes with the new tank?
No need to change anything
I'm a little concerned about the break over angle. Looks like the front bottom of the tank would catch obstacles before the frame
Never been an issue, tank is very well tucked up. Been fitted for a while now no issues with that sort of thing.
@@TyFenwick I see. Have you gone over a big ledge enough to test ground clearance? About 2 or 3 feet vertical drop that would be a good test.

It looks like Frankentank but I guess no alternative. Why Ford didn’t maximise the available space is beyond frustrating given their intended market.

There is no ARB tank for raptor. They only do it for the diesel Rangers.
