Seiko's gone freakin' bananas 🤣 A friiend of mine was looking for a new watch a couple of years ago . He was a full time student on a pretty tight budget. I suggested the Pro Diver and he was very happy with it. I Ran into him recently and it still looked fantastic. It has it's shortcomings but for an NH35 diver st that price, you can't beat it. OMG Millie is gorgeous!❤❤❤❤
Thanks Andrew! Your testimony proves the point that I was hoping to make, this is a great first automatic watch for someone wanting to get a decent watch at a good price. Mille is something, little bitch also got at my new ekster wallet and chewed the corner off of it too!
I’ve always liked Invicta, they do make some insanely huge watches but the pro diver series are pretty decent as long as they aren’t overpriced. I always recommend the 1953, but I’ve even seen sellers asking $160 just for that one.
Yeah the 1953 seems to be the most or one of the most popular options but it’s definitely also as a result as much or dam near as much as a Seiko SNK series. I would still choose the Invicta in that case now as the bracelet on the invicta is better. Lume isn’t a deal breaker for me as much as those horrible folded link bracelets you get on some of those starter seikos
Thanks for the video. I have no issues buying decently priced and sized Invictas. I have 3. The 1953, the batman 1953 and the black and gold sub. All 3 are what I consider well made, well priced, great deals. Cheers!!!
Excellent job reviewing the Pro Diver. I have over a dozen of the 40 and 42mm versions of the Pro Diver...they are all solid performers. Love my Pro Divers!
Awesome Robert thank you! Be sure to get one with a coin edge bezel, much better than the scalloped one I have here :) let me know what you get! And please subscribe to the channel if you haven’t done so yet that would be much appreciated
As a Seiko fan I completely agree. I do scuba dive and use divers as backups, I've the SKX, original Monster 2nd gen and original Tuna, all ISO certified and well priced way back then. Prices for the Prospex line now, you can pay $800+ Huge money!! . I'm not an Invicta fan, but I do think this is decent enough if you get one as, cheaply as possible. I suppose one advantage to waiting and saving up for a Seiko is future value as you showed very well in your video. Seiko holds its value and often increase substantially particularly limited edition or discontinued lines. I spent around $150 for my SKX, I could probably get $800 plus. My Monster cost me $250, in pristine condition. I've been offered $1400 for it. You can get a second hand Invicta for $10. That's not dissing it in any way. It's a well made watch, however as a diver I certainly wouldn't use an Invicta because lume is unusable and I would not trust the water resistance that much. Invicta are famous for inconsistency in quality control. As for AE watches, I have also used both Steeldive and Heimdallr watches as dive computer backups, they perform perfectly and have Seiko level lume. They have really the same quality level as the more expensive Seiko Prospex line with sapphire crystals. It pains me to say it as I love Seiko but it's just true. However, both cost a bit more than Invicta with import duties etc, but not by much and have sapphire crystals, solid bracelets and milled clasps that are better than my Seiko divers which do have solid links except for the end link and of course pressed clasp. The better Ali Express divers are better than an Invicta in my opinion, better overall specs, better lume and better crystal. To have a cheap watch that looks good the Invicta is fine, I have seen them as low as $75 on occasion. You should definitely pay the lowest price you can, because it's almost instantaneously worth nothing as soon as you buy it. I would look around in 2nd hand stores, garage sales, small jewelry sellers,, watch makers, you can get one for peanuts as people tend to move on from Invicta as soon as they can afford something better. Finally if you do actually want an affordable diver to use as backup when diving, I would recommend Heimdallr Monster and Steeldive Tuna as I've used both. I actually bought both those equivalents to my Seiko's as Seiko never made a, red dial Monster or Yellow dial Tuna and they are extremely cool, couldn't resist!
Thank you so much Brian that was one of the most thoughtful replies I’ve ever received on one of my videos ever! Yeah the prospex line up is disappointing when it comes to the price of them now which is why I chose the SNE549 I believe is the model, prospex Solar quartz by Seiko. Bought it off Marc new at Long Island watch for 300 USD I believe, and I absolutely love it. Would be my go to if I was actually going to do a dive. For me, like many I suppose, dive watches are cool but since I would never actually need to rely on a good tool dive watch the dive style like this invicta suits me just fine, and I get the look of the iconic subby for a fraction of the cost, well a huge fraction. I have heard that heimdallr monster is good, I have Marc’s version of it in wine red, from their first run of them, but the bezel action on it was a bit dissapointing, very light and slippy and too easy to rotate. Even some of the Ali watches like Steeldive are pushing their prices up, right now they aren’t much more than an Invicta but I do feel that this particular model is well respected among enthusiasts, doesn’t mean much to some but it is a consideration. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t done so already, God bless m8!
I had tried a couple diver watches ,and most didn't look to bad but it was the movement in them ,just bad quality , so the first invicta pro diver I bought was the black dial and black bezel and they look pretty good but I could tell right away how much better the feel of the movement and the operation very good, it keeps time very accurately, not perfect ,but very good , that's when I decided to buy different pro divers and all the different colors an sizes, my most recent one is a pepsi color pro diver , and I had the most compliments on this pepsi pro diver just random strangers. , I like the clear case back too. , but I prefer the ones without the yellow rotor , they should use different colors based on the bezel color of the watch
Is that the two tone one? I’m looking at the “bluesy” subby homage as my next invicta not sure what the model number is but it looks great too! Thanks for watching and if you haven’t done so yet please subscribe :) God bless m8!

I find that By definition of the people who make UA-cam videos I must be what is known as an entry level consumer. I seem to find that the value associated with some things, watches being one stops for me at "entry" level. I own about 60 watches and really like and am satisfied with my purchases and my collection. I consider myself a watch enthusiast. However all of my watches are in lines that these UA-cam people call "entry" level. I never seem to want to move above "entry" level. I guess I am just an entry level guy.
Hi Jimmy! By entry level I would mean to say one entrance into the collecting forray without any assumption that one needs to spend more money next. I own about the same amount of watches, only a couple are more expensive than average. The average cost of my watches would probably be between 1-200 dollars. So to be clear, when I refer to entry level I mean getting into automatics in this case, and nothing more than that. And with Seiko becoming more and more expensive than they used to be these invicta pro divers will get someone a Seiko automatic movement watch for a fraction of the cost of a Seiko name brand. Thanks so much for watching and for your insights, please subscribe, and happy collecting to you!!
Lots aren’t but as one UA-camr said it at least distinguishes it as a homage piece and won’t be as confusing to others who see it. I actually don’t mind it as the case finishing on this isn’t like a Christopher ward that draws your eye to it, I’m only looking at this one to tell the time haha
Christmas 2023. Amazon USA had them as low a# $40 for one day. Then I found them for. $56. The 1953 is a very good watch same movement, but a homage to the first Rolex Submariner. You can’t tell when you order. I have only had one about a year ago assembled in China. The date wheel slipped a half a day and it would stop at odd times. But the Malaysian ones are really good.
I have the black version with coin edged bezel. I never wear it because it looks like a Submariner AND because of it’s weak lume, but yea, it’s for sure a good value for the money and a good start point. And if you don’t care about the lume, also a good everyday timepiece. 🕐⚙️🍸
Absolutely if they actually did a decent job on the lume this would be killer! It’s also just a great everyday piece though as you say, and to be honest, have I ever really needed lume? Personally the answer is no, lume is just nice, but if you are going to do it do it right, they wasted their time on the lume, and money, which could have been invested on nicer brushed finish on the lugs
@@MirrlyonTime it’s definitely not certified but they sell it as a diver. No lume on a diver is a no no. Certified or not. I have a Tissot Seastar 1000 which is also not certified and has weak lume. I hate that watch and I hate Tissot who charged $700 for it. :D So the Invicta is the better watch because it costs a fraction of the price.
I hear ya wolski lots don’t like it but as one reviewer said on his video, at least it distinguishes it as a homage piece and not the real thing, and I do agree with his point on that; it doesn’t trouble me that much. Thanks m8!
Hi Jon yes you are correct. As a collector, I was drawn to Seiko as a first automatic because of the many videos that I have seen on Seiko being a go to brand for many. I highlighted invicta here not so much as a comparison to Seiko but as an alternative to them for those wanting a decent automatic as their first watch, or for that matter this is a decent option for anyone really that are budget watch collectors like myself. There are also better “clones”’of Rolex on Ali express that you can get with better specs (and I have) but it’s an aliexpress watch. I have found that people are proud to own invicta (lots hate but lots love em), not too many people are out there boasting about there aliexpress watch, they are cheap to buy yes which is why lots of channels feature them (as mine). The reason if everyone is honest is twofold: 1. They are cheap, and therefore easy on the wallet for those that have to buy their watches to put on their channel; 2. And you can make money as an affiliate partner. If either of those options were removed I think you would see a hell of a lot less of aliexpress videos on UA-cam.
And the band length is..??
Not sure exact length but I have a 7.5 wrist so it will fit 8 inch wrists and smaller for sure
I have bought several to give as gifts. If the watch is assembled in Malaysia it is golden. But if it is assembled in China watch out.
Ahhhhh…..so how do you tell when you purchase? Thanks for the tip and please subscribe if you haven’t done so already thanks m8!
@@Sowhat300 yeah they come pretty good price wise and the 1953 is nice
Beautiful puppy
Thanks pal
Can’t beat an Invicta for the money. I (and this is just me) don’t like Rolex Homages. 20 year review… wow. God bless Seiko Movements.
No kidding right? Seiko movements are bloody fantastic. Thanks for watching and please subscribe if you haven’t done so yet, God bless m8!
Why are the seiko's so expensive in USA here in belgium the Orange seiko is like 250 dollars like why 😂
That’s a good question no idea but the prices are going up
I have the black version with coin edged bezel.
@@MirrlyonTime in fact a dive watch has to have good lume. Period. ::D Improved finish and no lume should go into dress watches. :)
@@NaNByZero true, not sure they this one is a certified dive watch though so there’s that
@@MirrlyonTime it’s definitely not certified but they sell it as a diver. No lume on a diver is a no no. Certified or not. I have a Tissot Seastar 1000 which is also not certified and has weak lume. I hate that watch and I hate Tissot who charged $700 for it. :D So the Invicta is the better watch because it costs a fraction of the price.
@@NaNByZero I did not know that about the Tissot I was hoping to get one at some point 🤔
8:18 The Invicta word on the left side is the only thing I do not like about this watch.🤢
I hear ya wolski lots don’t like it but as one reviewer said on his video, at least it distinguishes it as a homage piece and not the real thing, and I do agree with his point on that; it doesn’t trouble me that much. Thanks m8!
Except that the Invicta is a Rolex, not a Seiko clone. There are much better examples of the latter available.
Thanks for watching and if you haven’t done so yet please subscribe to the channel, God bless m8!
I thought this is a watch review not a dog show.
oorrect, the dog maes an appearance, what's your point?
I have 4 INVCITAS=
1 Pro Diver 12455 CRONO WR100M
2 Grand Diver 3048 WR300M
3 Specialty Men 12846 WR100M
4 Pro Diver 36533 WR200M
Awesome!! I have two right now but I do have the two tone bluesy subby homage on my hit list which I can’t seem to find a decent one of on aliexpress
