Remember the first time I played terraria in years I got the RoD first try. and I thought “Huh, Neat” and never touched it again 💀
I got it before I knew what it was and said "seems kinda useless" and bc my inventory was full I threw it out to despawn
This reminded me of how in Doom 2 Pacifist % speedruns, it is theoretically possible to beat the final boss if rng was in your favor and spawned only archviles, but because of the way that rng works in doom 2 there is no possible state where the required rng could be produced, rendering it literally impossible, even with tas. With a chance that low, I wonder if a correct sequence of random numbers even exists to complete this map.
On the old version of the game me and my cousin used to abuse the vortex beater glitch pre patch, and we killed the lunatic cultist so many times that the games logic broke and it spawned a solar cultist banner. Sadly the world we had it on was deleted in a very convenient turn of events, but i still go on about it to this day!
My luckiest moment was that I was mining at the beach in search for some goodies when I found Enchanted Sword Shrine, what's even better is that I wasn't aware that I had all the weapons necessary for Zenith so it was a surprise when I found out about it

I once got 5 or 6 blood moons in a row, unfortunately I can't remember exactly how many times in a row it was as it was quite a while ago pre 1.4 I pretty sure. I don't know what the exact odds are all I know is that's its quite rare.
My luckiest moment (or unluckiest) was a save corruption that jumbled a bunch of items and gave me a daybreak
my unluckiest is probably whenever I enter hardmode. Once I got back to back blood-moon eclipse blood-moon eclipse, FOUR TIMES IN A ROW immediately after killing wall of flesh

My friend and I were doing a master mode run and we fought the Empress of Light 4 times. Her treasure bag dropped the Stellar Tune every single time.
The luckiest thing I've ever had in Terraria? Not only did my very first playthrough of Terraria bless me with Crimson key (back when you didn't have to kill plantera to open the box), trivialising the early-mid game with vampiric knives, I once dropped two key molds back to back from two consecutive mobs. I remember my online friends screaming at me for "cheating" and explaining the math to me just how improbable that is. On a second-third place was that one playthrough that gave me slime staff from the very first slime I killed.
On the other hand, I have never dropped Rod of Discord despite spending more than 2k hours at the game...
i was once playing tmodloader and got an item that has a 1 in 30000 chance to drop from any enemy and a 1 in 15000 chance item right after the first one. don't remember which mod it was

My luckiest moment was on 3ds Terraria (v1.2.4) when in my dungeon, my corruption chest spawned on top of a normal chest, splitting it into a half-half chest that was openable as a normal chest (no biome key required), but had the loot of the corruption biome chest- so I got that pre-hardmode after beating Skeletron
For newer players, back in v1.2.4 you didn't need to beat Plantera to open biome chests. They were available to open whenever you got the key (which started dropping when your world became hardmode)
I sadly no longer have that world since I deleted Terraria off my 3ds for space (before I got a 32gb microsd)

well, considering luck as "having very low odd things to happen to you all the time" then i guess i'm very lucky, on my last playthrough, i went as a summoner, and i decided i was having a desert tiger accompany me to the end of the game, and that implies you having a desert key, to unlock the desert chest you know, that thing that has a 1/2500 chance of dropping, i.e. about 50 banners of desert creatures. it took me OVER 180 BANNERS OF DESERT CREATURES TO GET THE DAMN KEY!!!!!!! that was the "luckiest" thing of the last playthrough, but every run something like this happens to me, so yeah, i consider myself very lucky

We discussing luckiest moments? I'll go, I once got two Hallowed keys one after the other from two enemies I killed while farming for the RoD. As in, I killed one enemy, it dropped a key, then the very next enemy I kill ALSO dropped a key.
To make matters worse, I had also gotten one about five minutes prior, and I got a fourth much later, all before getting a single RoD.
You have a better chance of getting the cookie clicker "Just Plain Lucky" cookie clicker Shadow Achievement (1 in 1 Million chance of obtaining every second) every second of your life (Assuming you start playing cookie clicker as soon as you're born and live to 100. The rarest thing I got in Terraria is the Drunk World but I didn't put any seed on and it's not even 1.4 it was 1.3. Something( I don't remember) my first time playing the game

Not the luckiest, but it is the rarest thing to happen to me. I've had some poor luck with trying to get a shadow key. It's only a 1 in 3 drop, so after a few chests/lockboxes I should have gotten one, right? Wrong. I've gone through a grand total of 17 IN A ROW and still haven't gotten a shadow key. I've exhausted all of the chests and have no choice but to fish up the crates, which means I'm rolling the chances further. It's agony, and I hate it so much. This game has to know what it is doing for this to happen, too

You roughly have a better chance of beating a perfect sans run about 733 times consecutively than beating this map.
but sans doesnt have any undodgeable moves, a perfect player can beat him infinitely without ever taking a hit whereas they will still need just as much luck as everyone else to win this map
@@38mb. sans' attacks have slight variation in the time they take. In the perfect sans run, every single attack is as short as possible. The chance to get said run is about 1 in 1.214 undecillion. This is mentioned in the Undertale with Dream luck stream Shayy made.
Tl;dr: A good player can beat sans 733 times in a row, but not at a perfect speed.
