Robin Hood Legends of Sherwood, Ghost Masters, Shadow Tactics, Commandos series, Evil Genius, Silent Storm, Arcanum, Planescape Torment.
Icewind Dale
Populous?
check my speedruns of Desperados 3.
new one like commandos is War Mongrels
Commandos is undoubtedly a historical gem that has inspired many other games and studios.
It is totally incomprehensible how someone makes a top and does not put this game in the top.
as well as Syndicate.
"All time" means the last 10 years or so. Many of these is not even isometric.
@@Zetor42 right, cenital view is not isometric perspective...
Sanitarium, Crusader: No Remorse, Cannon Fodder and many console's series such as Zelda, LOTR (GBA), Chrono Trigger and etc. I think it's just another private list of personal preferences.
@@antonyalekseev7231 Cannon Fodder is the best!!!
Its a nice compilation! Thanks!
The fact that Baldurs Gate 1 and 2 are not on here says it all!
This list consists almost entirely of modern games. There are a lot of classic titles it lacks, while it shows pretty mediocre games from the last decade aplenty.
Don't forget about Commandos 2 or Icewind Dale!
A compilation of isometric games ends up bundling a lot of different things together and at least half that list was action rpgs (diablo-likes). The original Baldur's Gate saga is absolutely among the best CRPGs ever, for me it's up there with things like Witcher 3, DOS2 and Planescape: Torment.
@@peterkranicz8435 Absolutely!
@@robertchmielecki2580 Yea, but when Fallout 2 is there, there is absolutely no excuse for not having at least BG2 in there.
Bird's eye view is NOT isometric.
Many games on this list aren't isometric at all. 🤔
Sorry my ignorance, but what's the difference?
@@dovahkiinskywalker3607 isometric view is like "from above and diagonally", when you cant control your camera. Just like old RPGs or old RTSs, BG, Fallout, Age of Empires, Commandos, Icewind Dale and so. Maybe 20% of this list is really isometric
@@dovahkiinskywalker3607 in isometric projection objects remain at the same size no matter how far away from the camera they are. Isometric games basically use parallel projection instead of the standard perspective projection (which mimics what the human eye perceives). If the entire world is modelled in 3d, in theory you can move the camera and render everything in real-time, however that would feel very odd in isometric view as you don't have a sense of depth with parallel projection. By locking the camera, game developers can pre-render most of the backgrounds (common technique back in the old days) and use a combination of 2d and 3d methods as was done in Pillars of Eternity.
@@dovahkiinskywalker3607 Isometric is when a distance along one of the three axes appears the same as the same distance along any of the other two axes. Think of a perfect cube, aligned to the game's grid (It needs to have a grid of some sort for "isometric" to mean anything). If the game restricts you to viewing the world along lines that run through opposite corners of the cube, using an "orthographic camera" (one where distant objects don't appear smaller) that's "isometric".
There are many games that have a bird's eye viewpoint that are not isometric. Most isometric games have a bird's eye viewpoint, but it's not strictly required. If you see a grid of diamonds that are all about 60% as high as they are wide, that's isometric.
I never heard of "Bird's eye view" games before. The thing is, technically, most isometric games aren't true isometric either. Isometric is a style, not a science. Some games probably shouldn't be on here like Stardew Valley since the perspective isn't angled diagonally at all. But a lot of the other games are fine, doesn't have to be perfect, and some can have controllable cameras too.
BG1, BG2, Neverwinter Nights?
Icewind Dale, Torment...

Subbed and Liked , Good Videos , keep up Sir !!!
Do you even know what isometric game is?
Ask yourself
@@Ryu_Matsumoto06 He's right, most of them are not isometric games.
@@Ryu_Matsumoto06 he is correct you bot.
Thought I was going crazy 😂😂
@@Ryu_Matsumoto06 You lie if you show 3d game and name it as isometric (2d game technology)
Thanks for the list
No Roller Coaster Tycoon, No Commando games, No Age of Empires, No Final Fantasy Tactics, not a single city building game, No Super Mario RPG, No StarCraft, No Command & Conquer games. It seems this list is more focused on games made after 2005.
Nice vid, thanks 👍
Please tell me where and how to get the video transitions that you use in your videos?
you can use after effects to make this kind of transitions.
Ir you can transit yourself in the ranks of gloryholious ranks of ZSU in Artyomovsk, pigpegger.
Surprised and relieved RUINER was mentioned, that’s one of my fav games ever, but it seems like almost nobody talks about it
I really like the isometric graphics style like Desparados which is very please to see.
there is shadowblade tactic same developper and good as well
Cam you guys suggest a topdown openworld game ? Like GTA 1 and 2?
It has shadowrun and the banner saga... List approved!
Baldur´s gate 1 and 2 MUST BE HERE
I can´t agree more. "Planescape: Torment" should be here too.
Music track during Tunic?
It's so sad that "Nox" seems to be always forgotten by everybody.
Failed to include Baulder's Gate and Baulder's Gate II, Icwwind Dale, Pathfinder. Baulders Gate II is considered by many one of the best games every made of the type but is not on this list.
Little sad to see Nox wasn't on here. :(
For those that want an absolutely stellar one on this - UNDERAIL.. Hardcore! It's amazing! Super fun, 100s of hours of gameplay!
No Baldur's Gate I & II but shitty III? This list needs to be updated :D
I was surprised, as 3 isn't a full game, and 1 & 2 were the godfathers of the genre. Fallout 2 was on here, but I expected to see BG as well, and even Torment, another highly influential game.
@@sydhamelin1265 you made a good point that game isn't finished yet... but clearly it doesn't matter to be announced as one of the best game of all times :D very funny.
@@shudderinginecstasy4251 Especially given how many games have front loaded content to get good reviews. I don't think Larian does that, but I've played so many games where they don't stick the landing, and the game suffers.
@@sydhamelin1265 True. Sadly, that's how the business run.
Obviously BG III will be nothing more than glith of missed opportunity, too bad, Larian makes good games, but now I see just another Divinity Copy.
Comprehensive, very nice job!
I wish there were more ARPGs set in modern or near future times, with firearms. Preferably one with a military setting of some sort.
Sacred. Especially 1 part. It was great.
Will be checking out cult of the lamb, darkwood, Bad north
Great job !
What is the game in Thumbnail picture?
Great games, how long does it take to try them all? Oh, it's a pity there are not 60 hours in a day (. In addition to any reviews, I'm still looking for games on Steam, and purely by chance I stumbled upon Primal Menace, I was very interested, but there is not much information about this game, has anyone heard anything about it?
I searched for a long time but didn't find anything about this game other than a video on Steam. let me know if you find anything about her.
@@Eleonora_16p ha i thought i was the only one in this world looking for this game
Most of these games aren't really isometric. Top-down view is not the same as isometric.
Commandos should be in the top 10. You have completely forgotten it:D
Which one is the thumbnail?
Does Little Big Adventure 1/2 count as isometric games?
Yes.
Hello, our isometric hack and slash game named Compass of Destiny: Istanbul, which is currently in early access, will be released as a full version on December 14, 2023. We would be happy if you include it on your channel. Thank you.
Patfinder, Baldurs Gate, Planescape?!?!?
Nice
DIABLO 2-3???????
Dude, that's NOT the same game xD
Wats game on the preview?
Baldur's Gate, IceWind Dale, Planeescape Tournament, Neverwinter Nights, Dungeon Keeper, Star Craft ???
Still, the diablo I still return to is one. Can't beat that atmosphere
what game is the thumbnail?
-'SEEEEEEEEEEYMOOOOOOOUR!!!!!"
-"Super Intendent! I was just stretching my strategic side, isometric games! Care to join me!?"
-"Why are there cat-girls appearing on your screen Seymour?...."
Did it seem to me or is Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun missing here?
Great list, but _The Binding of Isaac_ doesn't belong there since it has a top-down view.
Здесь нет Sacred...
saw a couple of years back some game with some orcs, can't remember the name, but after a few videos i decided i like it only to lose it before i could even get it. Anyone know what Im tanking about?
ahhhhhhhh, I love vids that show gameplay without commentary 😘
Awesome bro thanks ♥
Incredible video, my friend!! You inspired me to create content about games🔥🔥🔥
how can you make a list of 50 isometric games without baldurs gate 2?
What kind of list is this without Jagged Alliance 2?
thanks for effort bud
Wow i have like 95% of ur games list on my Steam. I like RPGs, ARPG ,FPS , TPS and Strategy (Action/Combat) type, but never played turn based type yet and card games. I like co op in all these genres too !!! Magicka 2 is sooo hard even on co op !!! Torchlight 2 and Grim Dawn are Easy , Diablo III too , cant wait for Diablo IV !!! Hope it will be better than Diablo III Havnt finished Division 1 on co op with my frend with Wolfenstein Youngblood, this guy doesnt like the games i like that much,we never complete the games , fortunately 1 of my frend which i have to buy every game for him too likes anything i like so its a bonus ;) !!!
Not one of them ever came close to the buzz that d2 provides. Including d3. And it'll include d4, too. The most rewarding loot system ever conceived.
You gotta add Synthetik to the list!
game from minature?
Use the translator to this:
Hombre, esto es increíble, adoro estos videos porque traen mucha variedad, te lo agradezco mucho de verdad, así tengo varias alternativas para jugar, me encanta porque traes juegos antiguos que por más que ya tengan bastantes años, soy igual de entretenidos e inmersivos que los de ahora, soy una persona a la cual no le importan los gráficos, morrowind, diablo 2, excelentes juegos he visto en tu canal, deberías poner The AMC Squad
Muchas gracias, nos alegra que te guste.
The thumbnail is Robin Hood : Legend of Sherwood... and you didn't even put it in the list of games lmao
EDIT : Thumbnail is from Pillars of Eternity 1, Dyrford Village, sadly Robin Hood : LoS isn't in the video :(
Hello, Robin Hood legend of Sherwood should have definitely been on the list, one of my all-time favorites and a beautiful game. The thumbnail is very reminiscent of it, especially the road textures, but it is a location in Pillars of eternity 1 called Dyrford Village
@@algirdassalomskas9050 oh shit.. im so sorry bruh, it definitely looks so similar, even went and google it
@@onedayiwillbegone2366 No worries! it ain't my vid. Also, I thought it was Robin Hood at first too, it is just cool to find someone else who actively remembers that game, I wish it became more relevant again with another franchise that studio developed- Desperados getting sequels and all that.
@@algirdassalomskas9050 Robin hood was one of my childhood game, and tbh it still is one of the best.
Yeah I was reminiscing the game and looked up the company, something about they had financial issue and stuffs, bankrupt and merged with another company...
Desperado 3, it gave similar vibes, but sadly compared to RHLOS.. pales far in comparison, it's mostly stealth, and you know with guns, you can't do much strats like medieval times, also they made it so easy.. i think with current trend of players, with short attention span, no one would spend the effort to play games like back then.
Do you know any other game similar to
1) Majesty - The Fantasy Kingdom Sim
2) Black & White 2
Those are masterpieces that didn't have a sequel :( ... I just can't get into games nowadays, all copy paste and no passion.
I tried Worldbox after seeing players playing it, but it just lasted me a while, it's just empty, just like watching fishes swimming in the aquarium ahahaha (but I would say it is really creative indeed)
@@onedayiwillbegone2366 yeah nothing quite like RHLOS sadly, it was so atmospheric, adventurous, and mischevious. Though you might want to check shadow tactics: blades of the shogun, see if it interests you at all, it is interesting on its own, stealthy, brainy, with a tactical edge and quite atmospheric, though there are some matchlock guns but it is not a big mechanic, it just appeals to me more than desperados, though not as much as RHLOS.
regarding games right now, indies is definetly where it is at. they still have creativity combined with ambition, because they are individuals driven by passion for the craft, not limited by higherups for the sake of anxious investors.
I too loved black and white 2, and so far no games quite like it, but I think there is an indie spiritual succesor called Fata Deum in the works. it seems different in certain ways, in atmosphere and gameplay, I think it may not have beasts, but that could be a good thing, black and white 2 still perfectly holds up, so having something with the same core, but a unique vision could be good. if I come up with any other suggetions I will write them here.
No idea about games like Majesty though, I did not hate majesty 2, but I am hoping for more indie spiritual successors for that series and to keep the spirit of the original.
The Narrator on Bastion is so amazing. I wish it was consistent through the game but he only talks alot at the beginning. The game is whatever but the voice acting and cool lines of the narrator will always stick with me.
Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood
You forgot about the very best one: Heroes of Might and Magic 3.
HOMM3 is not isometric.
I made several speedrun videos of Desperados 3.
Посоветую V rising и cult of the lamb
cult of the lamb на 21:46
V rising 36:48
Lol, so many of these games are so similar. I can't believe i've been fooled all these years.
Does anyone know any top down, ope-world games like GTA Chinatown wars or ShakeDown:Hawaii??
Please, let me know if anyone of you knows any such great games, as I'm new to this PC gaming environment and I'd love to try such games.😊
Pacman is my preferred isometric rpg.
You can't distinguish Top Down from Isometric?
nice games overall but... where is Ultima Online?
What is about Crusader No Remorse an Crusader No Regret?
Where is te commandooooosss ?🥺
Someone needs to play more games.
Where's Planescape Torment, Baldurs Gate 1 and 2, Arcanum, Jagged Alliance 2, Shadow Tactics, Icewind Dale? Why is there 20 diablo-like action RPGs on this list, including some completely recent games like The Ascent, which dont stand out in any way?
The last one is best. I was thinking to make a bad comment until I saw the last game.🎉
dungeon siege (best party game ever)
diablo II( diablo 2 (party, appearances of random champion every where, killing of bosses for the loot with different skill was fun)
dragonage origin series
blade and sword (best feature is combos which i miss)
Warlords Battle Cry (best hero system ever)
SANDS OF SALZAAR
Sword Coast Legends
SANDS OF SALZAAR
Fable The Lost Chapters
Eternium
dragonage origin series
Spellforce(1&2 only)
Final fantasy VII remake
Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem
Divine Divinity
torchlight II Titan Quest Anniversary
Shadows Heretic Kingdoms
Victor Vran - Overkill Edition
Van Helsing
silver gog game
darkstone
Heores of Annhiliated Empires
i have played many but like these most if you know anything near to it let me know
Hey, why isn't there a cool game called Zombie Raid here... because it just came out?
I don't know, but some seems to be made "industrially", i mean that it's too fast, quick, we just run, kill. It's too much for me. too much noise too, it's a little stressful, that just made me want to turn off the console and take a rest^^. So i think this kind of games couldn't match with me. but still interesting some seems lovely and more "magical". I'm sorry i'm not a big gamer, i play only to 3 games (and i even stop to play to both of them), so i'm not really at my ease with little games like that, that seems to consume a lot of time, concentration.
I would only add Dungeon Siege II,great list tho
Expeditions: Rome and Expeditions: Viking
Where is Nox, Darkstone, Dispel, Gorasul, Dink Smallwood, Fallout, Diablo, Baldurs Gate, Temple of Elementar Evil, Baldurs Gate, Icewind Dale i and 2, Legend Hand of God, Space Hack, Frater, Inquisition, Seal of Evil, Beyond Divinity, Sacred, DarkMaus???
Where are the "Baldur´s Gate I & II" and "Planescape: Torment"?
no "Hooligans: Storm Over Europe" ? imposibruu
the fact that Neverwinter Nights 2 (because of Mask of the Betrayer) and Baldurs Gates 1 & 2 aren't here while you put absolute stinkers like Undecember in it...makes the list VERY questionable
Hyper Light Drifter gets my vote. Fantastic game with a memorable soundtrack.
HLD is a nice game, but... it's not iso, it's a classic top view. I don't understand why it's in this list.
You forgot the two Pathfinder games
Binding of Isaac isn't Isometric and neither is Hyper light Drifter
They are indeed great... but not all of them are isometric. And it seems the list is only about isometric RPGs, while there are many other great isometric games in other genres.
No Planescape: Torment, Baldur's Gate 1/2 and Icewind Dale 1/2 is a disgrace.
Nice list, now do the real on pls:)
Isometric is the best, easy for my eyes.
where is BATTLE BROTHERS ?
I miss Archvale in this list!
you could easy add - Arcanum one of the best games
