If you are comfortable with knitting in the round on Magic Loop, you can start your next Magic Loop project two-at-a-time: all you need to learn is a special way of casting on.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!!! You are the ONLY PERSON who explains this method THE BEST that I’ve seen so far!!!
This is by far the best and least intimidating method I've tried and your explanation is very clear. No more one armed sweaters, thank you!
I completely agree!
Your videos are SO EASY to understand. Thank you for posting to help us.
thanks for putting up your magic loop videos! it's the first time i really could figure this out. your voice is calm and slow and easy to understand, and the video shows close ups like they're supposed to be seen when teaching a knitting technique. look forward to more!
Thank you. Your tutorials are so easy to understand and follow.
You taught me how to knit socks toe up years ago and I bought many classes from you but have moved many times since then. When I finally settled down I am still preferring toe up but I have a pattern that I have decided to do their way, top down. I can never remember this cast on. So, I always am grateful you are still there with your warm wonderful teaching style.
you, by far are the only one who has shown this so it's not confusing, thank you
Hi Terrie, Thank you! I am so glad you found it helpful.
@@Knitfreedom I have hit subscribe because I'd love to see what other knitting skills you share...you were the only one that took a complex knitting method and made it so simple and easy to understand, thank you.
Wonderful teacher nice voice, slow explaining, no mile long fingernails to,distract the view of what is going on
Hope get it :)
@@tofraljos Me, too. I haven't had any success with magic loop so I do 2 circulars and that work for me, but I'd like to try again after this demo.🤷🏻
Thank you so much! You give the BEST tutorials ... nice and slow and clear ... everyone else goes way too fast and their directions are nowhere near as clear. Struggling to learn Brioche and continental knitting at the moment with unclear directions.
Thanks Liat. You are always there when I need you again.
Excellent explanation I’ve been looking for for years. Thank you
Thank you so much!
Fantastic video. Extremely clear, nice and close up, and no distracting background noise. Well done!
I use this cast on method for 2 at a time sock no matter what the pattern says! I love magic loop so I don't want to have to move stitches with a double pointed needle! This is great and, if I were to be honest, if I haven't knitted socks in a while and I've had some brain fog I ALWAYS return to this video! Thanks Liat...you are brilliant!
God bless u 🙏🙏thank u so much❤❤am a beginner at knitting and i've knited two mittens at -a time with your method and it goes so easy and perfect😍😍
Liat. You are the best teacher on UA-cam. Your directions are awesome. I pull the yarn too tight and must learn to relax. It is good to practice with heavier weight yarn. I put my needles in very hot water to loosen them and they did so only so slightly. Any other ideas are welcome
You are wonderful!! I have the book 2 @ a time socks andI feel like I am learning a new language. I am going to give it a shot. Thanks for your time and the clear instructions.
THE BEST start up of knitting two with magic loop!!! I've watched so many and this is awesome! thanks so much!
Great tutorial! Thank you. I've knit socks toe up with magic loop, I am now going to knit fingerless mitts, two at a time, thanks to your tutorial
HI Liat. Presently I'm working on a pair of leg warmers . I'm done with the first one and about to start with the other one. I've learned this new technique from you and will follow your tutorials next time. Very helpful and thanks so much.
I have tried and failed for many months to do this cast on by watching various videos. It wasn't until I found your video that I was able to accomplish it--and on my first try yet! Thank you so much!
Aww, I'm so glad that you enjoy my videos. Thank you so much for the sweet compliments.
Thank you! This is the best cast on for Two at a time socks that I've seen. I'm about to start a pair and so glad that I have your videos!
I think it's great that you have a local yarn shop to go to... and I'm glad that I could help, too!
You are the BEST at showing knitting two at a time! I have purchased your program and am ready to try two at a time.
I have tried several methods and l think yours is the easiest and least confusing so far. Great job! Thank you for posting.
Yes, there is a wonderful variety of yarns, patterns, and techniques out there now for you to enjoy. Have you been to Ravelry yet? Google it. As far as the two-at-a-time cast-on, you actually use it to start projects that are knitted entirely two-at-a-time - a complete pair of socks or mittens, or sweater sleeves. The socks or whatever come out exactly the same, you finish them both at once, and you never get second-sock-syndrome.
you also get matching sizes
Thank you so much for your video. It was easy to follow and now I am knitting a pair of fingerless mittens! I am so excited. Thanks!
Thank you so much! You've made this look so easy. I've just started watching your videos (and knitting) and I feel so much better about my knitting. I don't have anyone close to help me, but you've made it easier anyway. I love you and youtube!
I love your demo's SO much. By far my favorite. Love the quality of the video and instructions. So inspiring!
Hark! Did I just hear a choir of angels singing Hallelujahs! Yes next pair of sock for sock madness here I come! LOL! You are incredible you know.
This is such a great tutorial, so clearly explained and demonstrated. Thank you so much!
I have wanted to learn how to knit two socks at time...currently I don't knit socks....and am hoping to begin soon. Thanks for the video.....
Excellent video. So calm! Really clear instructions. I was coming unstuck casting on the second half of the first lot of stitches. Thank you!
I LOVE your clear instructions. Thank you so much.
Thank you for your tutorial. I thought I might have got but when I did round 2, I had a muddled mind, yarn, stitches and ripped it out. I think there is potential for me but not yet. Thank you for trying and I will get back to you when I have got the picture. At least you were calm. Thanks again.
Hi Marie! This can be tricky at first, but don't give up. You will get it!
this helps with my channel sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much!
Very clear and easy to understand instructions!
You have the best demo of this. Thank you so much.
@LiatMGat Thank you so much for a nice, clear, no distraction video. Would love to see you do more videos for flaps, hell turns, pick up stitches for gusset and finishing toes. Again, wonderful video!
Thank you so much for your instructive videos!!! Got my leg-warmers started this weekend with this technique ... going well so far.
Thank you thank you thank you finally this video is very helpful i just did it yea 😁 now im ready to knit two baby hat at the same time
@charann102 Thank you! I am thrilled you like them.
That was REALLY helpful. Thank you so much! I have used your cast on, and have since been able to complete my first pair of TAAT socks using magic loop :))
You are welcome. :) I'm so glad that you liked the video!
@desikitteh Hey girl! Good to hear from you! I'm so glad you like the video! I'm having fun with my new camera! Happy new year!
Thank you so much. I appreciate the sweet compliments.
@TheMyssT Thank you! I set up a black background and sit in front of my camera which I set up on a tripod. Then I put my hands in front of the camera and start teaching! I use iMovie to edit out the parts where I turn on and turn off the recording, and like when a car drives by or something. The black background is a piece of velvet, which I find works really well. My camera is a Canon PowerShot SX1... I love it! :)
@knitjunky Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it! :) Keep in touch.
Now THAT was perfectly LOVELY!
Thanks Rita! I use a Canon Powershot SX1, a pop-up light studio, and a black velvet background, with some lights all around the pop-up studio.
I'm curious. Why would one do something this way? Just to make sure that you have exactly the same number of rows of ribbing on mittens? What is this used for. I've known how to knit for years, but sort of gave it up because of not enough variety or new ideas, but thanks to internet patterns and videos like these, I'm getting excited about knitting again. What an infinite variety of possibilities!
@keemimani You are more than welcome! :)
Thank you your a GodSend, as I would have never figured out this for the Starting point of the Tooth Fairy Pillow from Knit Picks. Your an excellent teacher :)))
Thank you so much for this video! I found others on UA-cam and they were so confusing.
I can't stand doing one side of something (like a glove) and having 'Other Side Syndrome'. I get bored of the knitting that way. Now I can start my leggings. Thanks again!
Great tutorial here. Thank you. I'm working on my 5th pair of socks and it is getting easier. I learned from your toe up video. But some self-striping/self-pattern yarn and tried to use DPN's with cuff down but can only do one sock at a time so went back to my cable needle so I can do 2-at-a-time, It doesn't make sense to me to make only one sock at a time. But I have learned to make the "Fish Lips Kiss" heel (no markers needed). Again, thank you BJD
I admit this was explained Expertly, IM sure, for those ladies who have understood this, I have experience KNITTING but for some reason I didn't GET this at all. Its very perplexing and HER instructions are SOOOOOOO clear, I followed it exactly as explained....and still it didn't work out for me. Thanks. Good luck.
Thanks for the wonderful demo. Magic loop demystified I wish I had watched your video before I took a class at local yarn shop.
Thank YOU!! I knew there had to be a way to get both sets of stitches on the circular needle without having to transfer stitches from a double point, or using some strange cast on method I don't like!!
Okay this is awesome! I'm saving this vid for later when I actually have magic loop needles!
@MC131abcdefg I am so glad that my videos are easy for you to follow and that you started a pair of finger-less mittens! I'm excited for you!
@ahabah72 You are SO welcome! I'm glad to hear that you got your leg-warmers started this weekend! Have you checked out the free pattern on KNITFreedom for the bulky cabled legwarmers? Just go to knitfreedom (dot) com / free-patterns. Enjoy!
Thank you so much. :) I'm so glad you're giving 2 at a time socks a shot. If you haven't already, you should really join the KNITFreedom Forum on Ravelry. It's a great community with tons of support. You can find it at knitfreedom (dot) com / forum
@alb3087 Thank you! That is so sweet!
As far as the way you do your long-tail cast-on, it is fine if you get the yarn from your index finger by going over rather than under. Lots of people do it that way, and there's no discernable difference in the end result. So keep on goin'!
She's knitting into the back loop because, if you look closely, she cast on her stitches wrapping backwards (around right then front then left) and the stitches are twisted on the needle. If you do your long-tail cast-on wrapping the yarn around from the left to front to right, then you don't need to knit through the back loop.
@JanREBEL You will love knitting socks! You are so welcome! You can go to knitfreedom (dot) com/classes/top-down-socks for a full video tutorial of two-at-a-time socks. Happy knitting!
Thank you! I’m going to learn this, but I’m going to modify your technique to do this from the toe up. That’s the plan, anyway , lol. I will fo it.
Excellent tutorial and with bulky yarn....tq
@GrrlCurry Thank you! I am so happy you appreciated it :)
excellent tutorial!!!
Wonderful explanation. The cast on was giving me heck! Now im all set to go. This is no my faves.
Thank you this was a very good video one of the best I have seen. You explain everything so it is easy to understand and follow.
I've been knitting toe up taat on one circular for years, no problem but I cannot get cuff down to work even though I have followed your tutorial I end up with yarn and cables not matching up. From now on I will be doing cuff down separetly on a 9 inch circular.
Mind blowing... I love it! Thank you for the compliments, I'm so glad that you enjoyed the video. :)
@MonikaRoseCrochets Absolutely! Try it - just work one pattern on the one iPhone sock and the other pattern on the other - it's easy! Let us know how it goes :D
This is obviously not for toe up socks. As always, great video, easy to see & understand. Thanks!
Linda M very pink Knits has a great video for two at a time toe up socks.
Okay, the cast on is a piece of cake and actually very intuitive. The real issue is joining the tubes without twisting the cast on stitches (my personal demon when it comes to knitting in the round). You didn't appear to do anything to insure that either tube wasn't twisted when it was joined. So how did you keep the cast ons from twisting?
@keemimani Yep. It will be more confusing though. Try it!
I am learning the two a time with two circulars method. I
Thus far I have knitted about 2.5 inches on one side which always seems to be on the correct orientation and knittable of a 2k, 2P cable. i.e., The wrists for a pair of fingerless gloves...
The first time I got turned around I found my way...
Now I have been struggling to find my way back without success.
I keep knitting the same side and unable to get back to the correct orientation for the second wrist.
Liat, your videos and e-tutorials have been amazing; your enthusiasm for knitting really shines. Thank you for teaching Magic Loop - it's been a godsend. While watching this video, I realized my cast-on is slightly different from yours: I use the longt-tail method, but when I pick up the yarn from the index finger, I move the needle over, down behind, then forward and up - just the opposite of what you do. I haven't noticed any problems, but I'm wondering if I've been doing it incorrectly?
Thank you. Love the chopsticks! :)
Duh!!!! Genius! Exactly what I needed! Thank you!!
@kasturinori You're so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Fantastic Liat, easy to see, follow and understand...this is what i was looking for....now i can do two at a time anything....im into knitting iPhone socks now i should be able to make two at once with different yarns and even two fingerless mittens (practing at the moment)..would u be able to do two different patterns..like one stockinette the other ribbing at the same time?
Thanks a million👏👏
I have been looking for a clear description of this knitting and this made it so clear for me . I make sock and they are often a little diferent when making one at a time I will mabe get them perfect now . Do you do man toe graftin?
