This has been such a help to me! I'm working fingerless mitts for my family and could not for the life of me remember this cast-on and start-up. I do socks toe up, but the family all want mitts, so thanks very much.
I've knit exactly 3/4 of a sock. I'm a fast learner so I'm positive I can do this first try. I will update with results, may take a while cause I'm a slow knitter. Your guide is so helpful and easy to follow!
Update! I finished my socks, they look great! I used a shadow wrap heel for both the heel and toe. They fit perfectly and were so fun to knit up. Thank you for the tutorial!
So I was gonna try this, but after casting on and trying to do the first row, I realized that my cable was too short and I need to get a longer one. I'm definitely gonna have to save this video so I can watch and follow along at a later date, but for now, I'm just gonna make another pair of toe up socks, from another one of your videos hahha I really like your tutorials though, I think I'm gonna subscribe! You make really clear instuctions that are easy to follow along with, and also have pretty nails (not that it matters, but they are cute).
@@NerdyKnitting I'll eventually learn how to make these too, mind you! I'll not be bested by a pair of socks, or a cable! Just gotta gain a few more skills before I can do it, that's all!

Congratulations on your first hand knit socks! 🎉
Great tutorial! It never occurred to me to use both tail and working yarn when joining in the round. So many other great tips!

Casting on, couldn’t you pull the second needle through to get it out of the way, once you’ve done the first stitch of the second half?
