I've knit exactly 3/4 of a sock. I'm a fast learner so I'm positive I can do this first try.

Update! I finished my socks, they look great! I used a shadow wrap heel for both the heel and toe. They fit perfectly and were so fun to knit up. Thank you for the tutorial!
