International law, African Union law must work, Ethiopia's desire to access the sea water, can get it to follow international law and peaceful negotiations with its neighbors. It cannot be achieved by force and war, and Somalis are not a people to be defeated by force! Although Ethiopia has a large population and military strength, The world, especially other countries in the Horn of Africa, the United States and the European Union will not allow Ethiopia to create more insecurity and conflict in the Horn of Africa again.

I think some of the panelists have bought the Ethiopian fairy tale history which is completely Divorced with truth. Ethiopia used the Eritrean ports only for about 50 years in its history, and that was when it forcefully annexed Eritrea. The Eritrean costal line was domninated for most of its history by its local chiefs or foreign powers like the Ottoman Empire, the Egyptians and Italians. To say that Ethiopia used the port of Assab for centuries is not only a gross exaggeration but a total fabrication, part of the Ethiopian fairy tale. It was carved, created and named by Italian colonialists who attempted to slowly creep into the main land and take the whole of Ethiopia. Ethiopian history starts with the Axumite kingdom (see the map on Wikipedia). If you are not politically biased you will see that Eritrea is like Taiwan a colonised part of Ethiopia. Ethiopia has to seal the deal with Somaliland. Ethiopia and Somaliland deal is all about port cost and port security. Port cost and port security is a national security issue for Ethiopia.
