If Sam doesn't put a picture of this on a shirt or his flask, then he's doing his job wrong.
Why not both?
"his job" xDDDDDDDDDD
Marisha's face when that last alarm goes off is just screaming to be on a t-shirt!
He hasnt yet.
I think hes waiting for a live show
The fact that travis had to call to tell them to stop streaming when their house is filled with smoke is just... They are that couple huh c':
ceo is just like guys fix the fire
Yeah. And the way Marisha's side of that call went, I'm thinking that was a CEO calling the Creative Director phone call, not a Friend calling a Friend phone call.
"Look guys, this is a disaster, call it a wash and STOP YOUR DAMN HOUSE FROM BURNING DOWN."
DM is harder to replace than the creative director tho..... or CEO
And that's why they made him CEO...
"oh Travis is calling... Hey!"
"Marisha stop the stream right now and put out the damn fire! Oh my god!"
"Yeah we're gonna be right back!"
Matt and Marisha are the big "Everything is Fine" mood
Also, as quoted by Liam in chat last night: "Sorry, did I do that?"
He wrote that? XD
Oh, like he didn't know. Goddamnit Caleb! 😂
Widowgast's Fireplace
Man, I missed Liam's comment, haha, the chat was going SO FAST
“I cast Fireball”
By their powers combined, they make about half of a functioning adult!
Just the right amount for a good picnic
@@alexryll9237 But not enough to not put the baby in the oven
Erutan Egaro - Well...depends on whether or not you take that statement literally.
"I would like to make my speech in front of a fire place."
"Ok, roll for performance."
"Sure..." *rolls*
"..." *Looks at the DM nervously*
*rolled natural one with a -3 modifier*
"You forget that you need to close the cheminey's hatch, and spend 30 minutes wondering why all the smoke is coming into your house"
"The CEO is calling, he doesn't want our audience to watch us DIE"
There dedication to continuing on while at risk of smoke filling their entire house is impressive. If Travis hadn't called they may still be trying to answer questions to a grey screen right now!
You'd need to understand Morse Cough
Nothing beats dying of carbon monoxide poisoning...
In the Hall of the Mountain King was a nice touch.
Maybe 'Burning down the House?'
Desmond Blenio I personally think AJR’s “Burn the House” is a better fit
2:45 that moment right there.
Yakkity Sax?
Thechaoticmagnet Yes! This! A million times THIS!!
Travis's call was 100% just like, "cut the feed! CUT THE FEED!"
He was probably laughing his ass off too
I had always thought that, as the GM, the one braincell of the group lay with Matt. Now I know the truth: there is no braincell.
TheAtlantisman no Travis just had it for the day.
It gets passed around whenever they focus on one characters backstory
The key to DMing is having no plan but making it seem like one giant plot from the start.
@@Never_heart this ^^^
@@Never_heart don't just out me like that oh my gOD.
They were blazing through those questions.
Tiny Blue Gown
They went so fast, I found myself burned out.
A lot of hot topics covered.
Dammit, these puns are so bad I killed my whole family
So that's what Caleb's parents had to deal with.
I'll show myself out
(slow clapping) bravo friend bravo.
Lupo Acheron THE BUUUURN
Omg haha. That was amazing
Big ass oof
and i mean, caleb has, reddish brown hair so, his parents look like matt and marisha, confirmed
Almost went the way of Calebs parents there.
Dark, love it
Dude.
I love that they're so careful about protecting their cast and crew, and yet they were almost ready to die of smoke inhalation because of their dedication towards making the fireside chat have a real fire for once.
My kingdom for what Travis said in those 3 seconds
Travis: **Marisha, shut it down for now before your house gets filled with smoke.**
Travis: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"
Well he’s the CEO of CR so probably something along the lines of shutting the stream down and controlling the fire first, both for safety reasons and because, even if CR is a DnD streaming company, this is below their production standards by this point
@@paulmorales1607 Dude, those guys are all friends first, I don't think any of them see anyone else as a "boss" or anything like that! Now I'm sure he did told them to get their fire and smoke issue in check, obviously! But certainly he didn't say that as the CEO of anything, but as a concerned friend.
ChevaliersEmeraude might be, I don’t think it’s important.
So Veth's parents are Travis and Ashley... Does that make Caleb's parents Matt and Marisha?
Carrie I’ll do you one better.... Fjord’s parents look like Sam and Laura 😂😂
Episode 127: We find out Caleb made up the whole killing his parents story to sound more cool I front of his friends. I'm reality his parents died of smoke inhalation.
2:42 The microphone tipping over is just the (mwah) cherry on top.
Smoke is dangerous D:
Happy that Travis called them and yelled something helpful :V
This was the highlight of my day yesterday. This will fuel Brian's fire as he roasts them in the years to come.
it'll fuel his "roasts", eh?
What do you think he'll make fun of Matt for more now? 21-year-old scotch and Coke, or this?
"Come join us around the fire with a nice glass of 75 year old scotch and coke, tonight, on Talks Machina"
:(
You are doing the Lord's work my friend! Sidenote: all the foreshadowing in the begining of the stream is so hilarious in hindsight :D
Foreshadowing? Surely, you meant to say... fireshadowing.
MFW travis was like "Goddammit I have to actually be the CEO for a second and get these idiots in line" lmfao
Travis: “Marisha, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PUT THE DAMN FIRE OUT! Your gonna burn your house down! And cut the stream!”
Widogast's Fireside Chat
I feel very strong Keyleth vibes here... Can't quite put my finger on why...
Marisha’s face at 2:02 is just so “this is fine” and I love it
I would pay a large sum of pennies to know exactly what Travis said to Marisha
Watching Matt and Marisha talk about D&D stuff = Great!
Watch Matt and Marisha bumbling around trying to figure out proper fire place utilization = THE BEST STREAM.
Tonight on Everything is Carbon Monoxide...
To Quote Matt: " How does fire place work?" 😜 Hope they're fine.
WAIT this wasn’t a bit??? This was real?
No, that was definitely a bit.
*Rolls for deception*
Rastislav Dudič Natural 1!
The smoke was 100% legit. Their flue was blocked or they shut it, either way, totally legit
I think it just needed to be properly cleaned out. They said it themselves, they never use that fireplace.
Fake! The smoke was a paid actor. The chimney was in on it.
I don't mean to make mirth out of your um.. moment... but this had me laughing for a good 5 minutes. I love you guys. It's nice not to be the only one who has...moments...in this day and age.
I came in towards the end of the stream and was really confused by the black on their face. It all makes sense now. Poor Matt & Marisha!
I think they didnt start a draft. You have to heat the floo so that the smoke goes out the chimney instead of in the room. (IDK my mom was watching and that's what she said from growing up in very cold climates so I believe her).
I was thinking their chimney was blocked, not enough smoke escaping out the top.
They probably had some windows open or a bathroom vent fan on somewhere that was preventing the chimney from drafting correctly. Unless an eagle or something built a nest at the top of the chimney I doubt it would have been actually blocked, since they seemingly never use it.
@@AlindBack That would be my guess. Bad ventilation. I dont think california is cold enough for the smoke to stop in the chimney.
@@AlindBack Except they mentioned their house is old. Which means despite the fact they've never used the fireplace, they've probably never had it cleaned. So it's possible the chimney might have build-up that they don't know about.
My mother said the EXACT SAME THING
We had the same problem at our old house. We didn't know how to build a hot enough fire.
Bark. Get wood with out the bark removed. The sap and bark should make the fire hot but not huge.
@@ZombyJello thank you! I think we only got it to work once and it was with a special kind of starter.
I DIDNT NOTICE MARISHA HAD A BIRD ON HER SHOULDER! THATS SO CUTE OML
That's Dagon lol there's lots of good Dagon content on Marisha's Instagram
Marissa with the "This is fine" face
Thank you Travis. You just saved them. Ofcourse a guy from Texas has a bit of common sense with handling fire.
Can't wait for Sam screaming at travis something like "You barbaric hilbily is not as sophisticated and cultured as we, city folk. How do you expect us to know how a fireplace works!?"
They either didn't make a draft or birds made a nest in the chimney.
They said they usually use their other fireplace, not this one, so I'm suspecting nests or other blockage.
they prooooobably shouldnt have done that without hiring a chimney sweep recently lmao
Beautiful, beautiful humans. This is the CR content I show up for. I present to you, the true Chaos Crew!
This is the first piece of Crit role content I've been able to watch live because lockdown and it was an amazing, chaotic mess, and I loved every second
I saw this live, but the music is just +chef kiss+
This is just like that episode on the West Wing where they start a fire in the White House because the chimney been sealed shut since 1891.
Absolutely the best! It’s like a trailer made special for their stream. Great job J.
Smoke starts to get out of control
...
Caleb *heavy breathing intensifies*
Oh.... Oh my god... The pure chaos in this video... It's glorious!
Marisha's just absolute defeat towards the end. I feel so bad but I can't stop laughing 😂
Flue...open the flue... dear Lord... this is why I love you people!
I see something Marisha can blaze on that tablet she is holding
1:51 The comedic timing could NOT be better.
This was hilarious and a little horrific live but I was so glad they were okay because it ended up just...*chef's kiss*
The house I’m in right now was built in like the seventies and we’ve never touched the fire place. Honestly this would probably be what happened to us!
Laura and Taleisin were competing for my favorites, but now it is these two disaster children. I love them so much
I am expecting Brian to have months of material out of this for Talks.
Glad to see the chaotic energy of Critical Role stays with us during this quarantine
My god do I love Matt and Marisha. They're amazing.
This is beautiful and i can’t believe i missed it
As someone who grew up with fireplaces all their life, this video is both hilarious and horrifying at the same time.
I left the stream before and came back after and had no context other than knowing it was a fireside chat that was no longer fireside. I missed the juicy panic!
The fireside chat with an old fireplace possibly decorative at this point and a crackling fire is Matt and Marisha's Fluffernutter. lol
Travis is going to have to teach them how a fireplace works. I feel like he would know that.
2:02 That's some good gif material right there hahaha What a train wreck I love it!
Yessssss so quick I needed this
i personally would have loved to watch the evolution of marisha,s hair explosion
I always wondered why they put Travis is charge. Turns out, he's the reasonable one.
After almost 3 campaigns of Matt trying and in most cases failing to wrangle the rest of the cast. I now realize Matt isn't the parent of the group. He's one of them. He's 2 children in a trench coat trying to get into a bar.
It was nice of them to include Caleb's parents in this stream, even if they ended up stealing the show.
The CEO trying to stop the creative directors of the company from killing themselves
I was so worried they were gonna give Liam an excuse to go full Caleb
The Fireproof Dorks was a great band.
I was prepared through spoilers (thank you, internet) but seeing it and the Troll song in the background cracked me up good. Do hope that you guys didn't have too much damage in terms of soot on the walls and furniture to clean up afterwards! And hey, it did look great in the beginning, the fireplace hahaha
She bent over and matt just staaarrreeee
I have a sister who is a theatre manager, and she is the same kind of person as they are... they are drama souled people, who love being voice actors, or more precisely in the theatre industry. Such people as them, all seem to have this similar way of thinking and perceiving the world in their antics such as these glimpses. As such, they only marks me smile, because, everything to them in life is a joy of the art, and of life, that they can’t help want to share with others.
Turns out: the fireplace is decorational only.
and this, folks, is how you get CO-poisoning. ;D
That sounds like the worst madeup team building exercise. "Today, we are gonna learn about trust and communication with a nice, calming fire."
* In the hall of the mountain king* Intensifies
Hey, if you’re going to fail, at least fail epically.
Even in the face of her house burning down...Marisha is totes adorbs.
And this is why you get your chimney inspected before you use it.
I cannot fathom how calm they were, trying to carry on with the stream while at the risk of smoke inhalation.
The clueless face they have looking the s**** scaling is beyond gold. BTW, it's comforting to know that they suck at something =P...
I wonder if the chimney cover was still on lol
Yes, Hall of the Mountain King is a GREAT addition to this! God I needed this laugh.
Oh look the CEO is calling.
i really love these two. just their reaction to everything going into chaos is great
I am uncontrollably laughing, caught between giggles and sobbing and reading the comments is not making it better.
Thank you for putting this together xD
thank you you are a treasure
The amount of cuts and this fire already .......😂😂😂😂
Disaster Children: In, and out of game. This did what CR usually does: made my day better.
I find this fireside chat to be incredibly alarming and I hope this really puts a fire under them.
I apologize for nothing
I'm gonna bet the next fireside chat will next to a campfire. [Twitch streamer burns down camp site]
Ive watched this probably 11 times. It is the funniest thing ever
remember kids, you need to regularly clean chimneys
they played with fire, and got burned
We lived in an older house before moving to our new one and inside the chimney were actually two little chains that connected to a slate of steel in the upper part of the chimney. In order to use the fire place you had to make sure that the slate was open so the smoke had some place to go. If not, it just flooded the house which I found out the hard way lol
their chimney probably had a bigass bird's nest in it, or they just didn't know how to open it haha
Why did I god damn go to sleep and miss this amazing catastrophe! XD
Next time, just put a widescreen there & turn on the fireplace app.
I still think their Chimney was probably capped. The probably just either weren't told about it, or forgot.
I hope this will be on UA-cam XD
