PCV VALVE - You MUST Clean This! | Vios/Yaris is a step-by-step guide on locating, removing, cleaning, and reinstalling the Positive Crankcase Ventilation or PCV Valve on Toyota Vios / Yaris.
The PCV is just a small valve but it plays a vital role in preventing the build up of extreme pressures inside the engine which can cause oil leaks, blow by, sludge formation, etc., if it is dirty or not functioning properly.
By venting the inevitable build up of gas pressure from the crankcase the PCV valve can preserve the integrity of the oil seals, the engine oil, the engine block and prevent a lot of problems from happening. This is why it is so important to keep the PCV valve functioning properly by keeping it clean.
Its exact location may differ but the same principles and procedure shown in this video apply to all engines with a Positive Crankcase Ventilation system.
To reiterate, a dirty or clogged PCV valve can cause a heap of problems to your engine which can cost a lot of money in repairs.
