I still wish this song was longer because it's really enchanting, it has both a mystical and combative feel that eggs you to fight on but also keeps you aware of the precarious position you are in.
There's one thing about this that I find a little annoying, and it's that the chorus sounds really soft. During that pause between the first verse and the chorus I was getting really excited for the *bang* that always goes off when the chorus starts. And then it didn't happen. The chorus blended in too smoothly, imo.
@cswayliv Yes, for the right hand in the beginning: 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-2-1-2-3-5-3-2-1-3-2-1-3-2-1-2. Hope that helped, just practice until you can play it fast. It may seem hard in the beginning, but you will get there with practice :-)
holy christ the beginning of that is nuts. I wish I took piano lessons as a kid when my mind was a sponge instead of as an adult when my brain is more like a brick.
Wow........that intro is just about impossible... Since the right-handed part of it didn't have any doubling up of keys, I should try to play it on my sax. I have just recently learned how to play the melody of the FF7 victory theme, so I think I could do it. :D
@mechanicalpuffin You can get it for the GBA, it's an excellent graphically-uplifted from SNES version of the game. Generally they have it at any used old-school video game store, Amazon, or eBay.
@Nanertot You can download Synthesia and use his MIDI and change the speed it's free and has no viruses or ads. You can do this with any midi or song and if you have a MIDI cable you can play synthesia like a Piano Hero.
I know you asked 9 months ago but, try get your hands in a nintendo DS instead. and buy the final fantasy V advance. It has less lag, a few extras such as a music player and a bestiary and is all in all perfect for a handheld game! :) Good luck in your adventures in the worlds of FF!
I just LOVE old Final Fantasy music!!! :D I like new songs too, (well, some like the theme for FF13) but you can't really compare them to the old songs.
@Kuraud0 Of course he's playing this piece with pedal (sustain). Like I said before, that part of the piece is impossible to play without the pedal. In fact, a piano without pedal is like a car without wheels, is very hard to make it move xD (except for some pieces like Bach's or Mozart).
@MisterMoes Yes you're right but I was answering Manapool's questions. Physicaly it's impossible. But of course: we're pianist and we don't need to make those questions because it's very easy to know how to play it.
@MisterMoes What he's trying to say is if it's possible to keep pressing the G Major chord on the right hand at the same time when you are playing the cromatichal notes in 1:04 . As a pianist, I say that it's only possible keeping the pedal presed, but it's imposible without it. I'm 100% sure that even Rachmaninov (the pianist with the greatest hands) couldn't have played that without pedal.
@Kuraud0 I think you read my message wrong. I said it's possible WITH pedal (sustain) and that guy in the video ''jumps'' from one note to the other keeping pressed the pedal and sustaining the sound from that G chord at 1:05 (not at 1:03). I said it's only possible with the pedal, as our great musician Faint1pulse plays, but without pedal it's impossible because you would need three hands or, at least, a right hand as long as an arm xD (16 notes long). Look carefully how the guy plays it.
When the PSVita gets PS1 support you can get it on PSN for 10 bucks and have a handheld version of it. Actually I think you can play every FF, from I to X on the Vita when the the remake of X comes out later. Of course the same could be said for PS3 too.
man it's just the beginning to this song which is the hardest. confusing for your brain to go fast speed like that and then go slow speed on the left with hard notes at the same time! this might take me maybe months to learn XD
@NobuoNomura Practice the chromatic scale, watch videos on youtube if you don't have an idea of how to do it (Lypur has a video about it). The sheet however suggest the following fingering after you play the G chord at 1:05: 5-4-3-2-1-3-2-3-2-1-3-2-3-1. You can just practice that as well. I can also suggest this: 5-4-3-2-1-3-1-3-2-1-3-1-3-1. Anyways, just practice and good luck with the piece :-)
I've been trying to learn piano for about four months now and I'm finally able to play some songs slowly with a my left hand (I can almost fully play To Zanarkand). What I can't figure out is how to make a piano louder. I play on a keyboard so I don't have actual piano practice but how do you go from the quiet 2:02 to the loud 2:03 sound?
@mechanicalpuffin Check out eBay, there are surely a used SNES and FFV you can buy. Or you could just type ffv download in google and download it on the pc...
@cswayliv Pause the video and play each hand separately, they do not overlap and use your ear to hear if it sounds right or wrong, so it should be possible to figure it out. Or download the midi slow it down in synthesia or download the sheets and read the notes. Are you able to play the first 30 seconds of the video?
very possible since synthesia can't recognize when keys are supposed to be released or held longer. the three notes are just hitted quickly before proceeding to the elaborated part
If you have a PS3, I think you can download it for cheap off the PSN Store. I got Final Fantasy VII for $10, and Final Fantasy I and II together for $12. Xbox may be cheaper, but PS3 has (almost) all the classics.
0:49 Wrong! The melody here should be played like quarter notes; it's being played like eighth notes. I know of (unofficial) sheet music that does this. Still, I love hearing these Synthesia songs.
@MisterAlbertoPiano No, what he implied is that this piece is not possible to play. All of my videos are for solo piano, which usually requires: two hands, one foot, 88 keys piano and sustain pedal. As a pianist it should be fairly easy to figure out how to play a song by looking at my videos, no need to question the possibility if the piece is playable.
that's not what manapool wanted to know. he just wanted to know if the phrase at 1:04 + is possible to play, and misteralbertopiano just gave the correct answere. you just left out the pedal, because in this video (or in the midi) the notes sustain. and yea, even rach couldn't play that, speaking of 16th, you know xD
Just so you know following the link to the midi download just takes you to adspy which asks for you to allow it to give you notifications and gives you phishing scams and viruses
Well this is playable by one person its very hard but possible And i would be more impressed if one person played it rather than 2 Edit: sorry I just noticed this comment is from 9 years ago 😅
I still wish this song was longer because it's really enchanting, it has both a mystical and combative feel that eggs you to fight on but also keeps you aware of the precarious position you are in.
the red bar from youtube and the green bar from the video are RACING!
I'm trying to learn this on piano, but I'm thinking of backing out now.
Only gilgamesh can play this xD with 6 hands
True
There's one thing about this that I find a little annoying, and it's that the chorus sounds really soft. During that pause between the first verse and the chorus I was getting really excited for the *bang* that always goes off when the chorus starts. And then it didn't happen. The chorus blended in too smoothly, imo.
I honestly didn't notice it at first. Now I can't unsee.
my dreams just came true!!!! one of my favorite ff songs!!! thank you so much!!!
@cswayliv Yes, for the right hand in the beginning: 1-2-3-1-2-3-1-2-3-2-1-2-3-5-3-2-1-3-2-1-3-2-1-2.

Good job I love this melody in your performance
"Enough expository banter! Now we play like men! And ladies! And ladies who dress like men! For Gilgamesh... it is piano time!"
thankyou so much sir for this midi!
I appreciate how he added a most replayed section
@ricthecoolguy Thank you for your kind comments! I'm glad you enjoy it :D
Faint1pulse is indeed very talented GREAT JOB! i hope i can get this good someday lol.
i like the dynamics. that's a good midi file!
Hell yeah, you´ve really done it!
Thank you so much :)
@Manapool It's possible. You play the gren notes with your right hand. You hit the three green notes, then move your hand to play the scale.
this song makes my spirit up
oooooooooohhh yeeeeeaaaaah
holy christ the beginning of that is nuts. I wish I took piano lessons as a kid when my mind was a sponge instead of as an adult when my brain is more like a brick.
Very Great song!
Wow........that intro is just about impossible... Since the right-handed part of it didn't have any doubling up of keys, I should try to play it on my sax. I have just recently learned how to play the melody of the FF7 victory theme, so I think I could do it. :D
@mechanicalpuffin There's a version of it for Game Boy Advance and one for Playstation in the Final Fantasy Anthology.
Good job it sounds good
@mechanicalpuffin You can get it for the GBA, it's an excellent graphically-uplifted from SNES version of the game.
6 4, 9 4, 12 4, 4 4, F Minor, C Minor, this is all over the place, AND I LIKE IT
awesome! thanks for the midi :)

woops! i noticed it too late but your comment is 11 months old so you probably found what you wanted so cheers mate! hope you had fun with it
Cookies to you. Bambi shaped cookies.

@cswayliv The sheet music might be handy here since you don't need to read the notes in context at first...

What a twist ending! The grey bar wins!

I Like This Song Probably The Best In Final Fantasy.
wow never seen anyone just say you know you're right! damn keep that shit up sir!
@cswayliv There are many notes, look at the video, to see what notes they are...

Here's a new game... Keyboard hero... This is what its like in expert mode!
@MisterAlbertoPiano im pretty sure the guy plays it with the pedal.
@mechanicalpuffin Buy it as part of Final Fantasy Anthology, on the GBA, or off PSN, whichever applies to you.
AMAZING!
I am gonna look around this cluttered page for some sheet music, if you haven't made some yet, PLEASE DO!
Cool

The beginning makes it sound like Star Ocean 4 when you're in the cardianon fortress. O_o
Woot! Go GILGAMESH! (the reason why his name is in all caps is because thats how awesome he is)
@imMIB123 Its called a sustain peddle.
@mechanicalpuffin
if you have aps3 you can buy it on psn. Or you can play it on a game boy advance emulator :)
If you have a PS3, I think you can download it for cheap off the PSN Store. I got Final Fantasy VII for $10, and Final Fantasy I and II together for $12. Xbox may be cheaper, but PS3 has (almost) all the classics.
Oh my god
Do you think you could do his FF6 Battle?
0:49 Wrong! The melody here should be played like quarter notes; it's being played like eighth notes. I know of (unofficial) sheet music that does this. Still, I love hearing these Synthesia songs.
@LQDapacman Hm that might work... Most of the available GBA copies are expensive as HELL though haha... guess I'll have to settle for that :P
@yayMalene i thought he did? or was that jordus....?
0:33
You know, you're absolutely right. Sorry about that.
@MisterAlbertoPiano No, what he implied is that this piece is not possible to play. All of my videos are for solo piano, which usually requires: two hands, one foot, 88 keys piano and sustain pedal. The green and bars are racing xD AND it's neck and neck
@Shaded81 *looks at the right hand part* um....you could try that if you had an extra set of hands :D or...you could use a pedal ^-^
@mechanicalpuffin If you have a Playstation 3, you can download it for $9.99
PS3 Store, you can buy it and download it there
Fucking badasstastic.
I want to play FFV really badly, but I don't know how to get my hands on a version of it :( Do any of you have any suggestions?
there is a PSone version of this game with FF IV it's called final fantasy anthology.
that's not what manapool wanted to know. he just wanted to know if the phrase at 1:04 + is possible to play, and misteralbertopiano just gave the correct answere. you just left out the pedal, because in this video (or in the midi) the notes sustain. and yea, even rach couldn't play that, speaking of 16th, you know xD

Cant believe someones able to move their hands this fast and this steadily
It's not possible to play this on a 76 key keyboard, right?
Er. I'm not a pianist that's why i'm not so sure, but is 1:04 even possible? Looks as if there need to be a 3rd hand to run that scale?
@mechanicalpuffin download visual boy advanced and the final fantasy v rom
hah. the green bar on the bottom is going along with the youtube steam bar XD
Enough explainatory banter! Now we play like men! And ladies! Ladies who plays like men! For Gilgamesh, it's morphing time!
@riceslash100 oh i only saw him in 12 in which he had six sorry
AAAAAAH WHAT THE HELL PARALLEL FIFTHS!?!!?!!
how can you play the arpeggio at the beginning? its too fast..
This would look so badass if two people partnered up and play this song. One would play the blue notes. The pther plays the green
Well this is playable by one person its very hard but possible
And i would be more impressed if one person played it rather than 2
Edit: sorry I just noticed this comment is from 9 years ago 😅
how put songs on synesthia
The start of the song is sooo hard to do at its regular speed. :/ I'll get it eventually.
i really need the fingering of the intro, iy can't do that damn roll, in my country is winter, and my fingers are a bit bit cold XD
this is like guitar hero but for real heros.
is playing this even humanely possible
0:34 :)
@MisterMoes you need a psx to play ffv
I feel cross-eyed
go to ichigos.com, he has tons of anime and cartoon sheet musics
It's good because he'll only need to use those other two a few times.
One day....I'll do it, i promise !!! >=]
Must.
Have.
10-minute-long version. o_e
@asianninja48 Solo
You'd have to have as many arms as Gilgamesh to play this
slow version, please :)
piano hero ? xD
