@@ron88303for 5 seasons he was the best ever (maybe with the exception of Sandy Koufax)but over a longer period of seasons Greg Maddux, Clemens, Randy Johnson and Steve Carlton are in the conversation
We were lucky to live in Mass and be Red Sox fans. Even 85 years of the alleged curse couldn't dull watching Pedro. The man was basically lights out for years. And 99 and 2K were off the charts. But 04 was what we had promised Pedro. And he helped us get there.
Literally everyone “abuses” it. It’s part of baseball. Why do you think catchers are trained to move their gloves toward the middle of the plate as the ball is coming into their glove? It’s a huge part of pitching.
@@dominos7616 what i meant was maddux would have his catcher sit out there and greg would pepper the mitt without the catcher having to move an inch so it appeared to the ump like a strike. Many pitchers tried this but maddux was very precise and got away with it more because of the accuracy…and bad umpiring of course.
Always classic watching Pedro Martinez highlights but this video is super annoying! Cutting off the announcers mid call, rookie move. That's part of the fun of Pedro's performances is hearing the calls
97mph 2 seam laser with a nasty tail, to a 75mph change up with the bottom dropping out absolutely the nastiest change up ever.
I am glad to be in his era, I had opportunity the watch the best pitcher ever in the history of baseball.
Wouldn't go that far, but he's one of the greats.

I used to love to watch this guy pitch totally dominate and always keep the game under control, and he hated the Yankees even better go red sox
Love watching Pedro. His 1997-03 prime, especially 99-00, was amazing.
The control and movement of his pitches was second to none
I’d only put Maddux right there with him
Never threw a pitch that didn't have a tail or drop to it, even when his velo dropped in his later years.
He's second to Maddux in the control department.
@@jjejjsjjejjs maybe to control, but not movement. Pedro’s pitchers look like whiffle balls lol
@@NickSpurr-zm3rp that's why I said control lol. Internet people are dumb.
Pedro 98-01 and Koufax ‘62-‘66. The most dominant pitcher years ever. Privilege to watch Pedro.
I was lucky to meet him at a charity event, and he was we great conversation. Awesome guy!
Absolute BEAST of a pitcher
I don't even like baseball but knew excellence when I saw it. I would watch him whenever I could. You just knew he was special.
Pedro and Randy Johnson transcended the sport. Absolute superstars.
Thank you for some of the greatest highlights of the legend 45.
Slim Pedro is looks like a black panther.
Great pitcher remembered by history
Got his auto on a all star ball in Seattle last week!
Varitek has to be part of this conversation.... Nobody caught a game like Tek! Him and Pedro were a powerhouse team for sure.
At his best, the best to ever do it idc
Would have been fun to see him and Bonds go at it.

Speed and movement
So many swords. He makes seasoned pros look like t-ballers. Haha
I absolutely miss this kind of pitcher.
I’m a Sox fan
Peak deGrom was the most recent but even that was a few years back.
The pitches in the middle of the opposite batter box being called strikes is hilarious to watch. Greg maddux abused that as well.

He’s one of the few arms that would be as good today as he was then
One of the few ... LOL. As if pitchers from the 50's through the 80's were chumps.
Man that A's team were sure swollen 😂
La ponía dónde le daba la gana. Y muchos bateadores grandes le quedaron pequeños
Caballote,mucho pitcher tan hp
