It's worth noting that the chord progression is identical to the Bartender outro (I I IV I, though in E Major not D Major) on top of Carter's pattern for the Dreaming Tree outro jam. Therefore it should be called Dreamtender.
I remember when this first got posted. I’m still hoping this becomes a full song and gets released. It took them what, a decade to release monsters? That song turned out to be amazing.
Carter is playing the Dreaming Tree jam hi-hat pattern on this. Actually this sounds like they started playing the Dreaming Tree jam with a different chord pattern.
I've heard that also. I guess since machead isn't even proven to exist, dmbalmanac can't say it. I can't stop watching this. The groove in this song is amazing.
huge fan lots a shows all the livetrax/bnps you could ask for and....this is new to me......what else do these guys have hidden? They haven,t even peaked yet......
It's funny to see these old posts from 3-4 years ago hoping this is on the new album (Big Whiskey), and yet here I am hoping it will be released this time around on the new album. Please let this song come to light.
Carson Foltz It’s funny to see these old posts from like 6 years ago hoping this is on the new album (Away From The World), and yet here I am hoping it will be released this time around on the new album. ;););)
@@guitarstuffs1236 It’s funny to see these old posts from like 4 years ago hoping this is on the new album (Come Tomorrow), and yet here I am hoping it will be released this time around on the new album.
Maxx Poliachik Interesting. It’s the same key as Minarets and part of the vocal melody was the same as the minarets chorus. Also playing a similar part to Minarets on guitar.
Why would you say that? Stefan put this on his Facebook (and it's still there) - so he definitely knows about it. I wouldn't say it's probable but at least we know someone from the band remembers it....

This continues to get brought up consistently to this day. How many gems await in the hallowed vault?
This is a hidden gem by DMB. The mystery song. Not even dmbalmanac knows what it is. But it sounds awesome. I pray...it will find the light of day.
15 years and we're still waiting.. lol

Don't EVER delete this video..
Please be on the new album.. Goosebumps everytime..
I read this and thought you meant Walk Around the Moon, and then I realized how old this comment was.
Classic DMB right here.
Yes!!!!
Still come back to this..

sounds like the end of Dreaming Tree
Still listening...
Still trying to figure out what it is too.
this one is officially dead.. :-(
whatever this is, random jam or the idea for a new song, i like it. i like it a lot!
Still waiting
such a cool song. this needs to come back and develop into something.
simply great harmony...
To this day it haunts me this was never released or made into a song.
Even soundchecks should be considered songs

And now MacHead is unearthed
god damn it sounds so gooood
dude this is sick man i wonder if it will ever be released and yes soooo much potential
i wonder if this sort of morphed into madman's eyes
Wow, this is really haunting, who knows, this jam might turn up.
We've made Stephan aware of this, right? Cause it's crazy good.

The drumming is very similar to the end of The Dreaming Tree..
Dreaming Tree is in the key of Dm/FMajor.
Damn, this sounds amazing. Anyone know if there are any other versions of this song floating around?
@SolSedano1 It's in E
The drum groove is similar to Dreaming Tree. Maybe they are just jamming with it?
Im pretty sure this derived from dreaming tree
its in 7/8 time signature...so is dreaming tree and the end sounds a lot like the dreaming tree outro after the jam
I honestly think they were just messing around. The song is 2 chords, E and A. While awesome, this could be an easily forgotten jam
and it was soundchecked right before Dreamgirl which is also E and A... wonder if it was an experiment or something else
Machead??
Sounds a lot like Squirm... ;-)
machead?
I like the sound of this clip... It reminds me -or hints at- Minarets ... just sayin'☺️
Regina Rizzo I don’t get a Minarets vibe at all from this. More like Dreaming Tree / Shotgun
Maxx Poliachik Interesting. It’s the same key as Minarets and part of the vocal melody was the same as the minarets chorus. Also playing a similar part to Minarets on guitar.
machead...?
Where is this now?

I wouldn't say it's probable but at least we know someone from the band remembers it....
carters beat is similar to, but norhing more
The song goes back and forth from E to A ala Minarets, but its obviously not Minarets... but that also rules Dreaming Tree out
hahaha machead.
Is Dave saying "Neil Young" toward the end?
Still listening...
