    I've put a few hundred hours into F1 22 and 23. I worked hard to learn how to drive without the assists in that game. I came to ACC and tried to turn traction control and ABS off. It made me feel like I hadn't learnt a damn thing from the F1 games. I am very relieved to hear that the ABS and TC are actually necessities. I couldn't wrap my head around how anyone could ever manage to be fast when the car handles like it does with no TC or ABS so I am actually motivated now. Kinda felt like I was cheating and it was going to be too hard to get down to no ABS or TC so I was very discouraged. Now I'm excited to drive. Appreciate this!

    🏁🏎️🏁 G’day mate 👍🏻, newbie here, just purchased ACC and getting into gaming 🕹️ for the first time at the ripe ol age of ((60 👀)), I’m building a DIY sim rig and hope to be up racing later this year. I’m researching fellow creators to subscribe and learn from. Thanks for creating this video, so many fine tune details. This is going to be so much fun!!! Cheers from Western Australia 🇦🇺🤝🏻

    A tip for the graphics settings: the temporal upsampling is pretty awesome in this game, miles better than FSR. Try tis: set resolution to 4K, resolution scale to 50%, antialiasing to high (medium is ugly, epic is blurry and slow), antialiasing type to temporal, temporal upsampling to enabled. I like to turn on TAA Gen5 too, it's a bit slower, but the picture quality is better. And turn off any unnatural sharpening effect. You will get a very nice clean 4K like picture just from rendering in 1080p! This way the game looks great on my aging RX470, and I get around 50 fps which is perfectly playable with a VRR supporting TV.

    • @Wylie288

      is rx470 better than gtx1650? i have 1650 with ryzen 7 5800, 16 gb ram but it suffers a lot even with only 14 opponents. it's a laptop by the way.

    • @Nago15
      @Nago15 2 роки тому

      @@ladymaria9529 According to techpowerup, a 470 is 6% stronger than a 1650. Furthermore laptop versions of GPUs can be 5-10% slower than their desktop version. I did a little test, on Brands Hatch, with clear weather, at the start with 9 opponents visible before me it's 45 fps with the upscaling to 4K detailed above. I have everything on low, except shadows and shadow distance are mid, because on low the cars seem to float. Post processing is also mid, because it makes the shadows under the car much better. Texture is mid because it's not expensive. Materials is high because I like materials:) Car LOD quality is 25%. And make sure that HLOD is enabled. Motion blur is also disabled. But if you are ready to lose some picture quality for fps, then set it to native 1080p without upscaling and set antialisaing to mid TAA or KTAA because high is too blurry in 1080p. Now I have 75 fps at the start and 80-90 fps during the race when there are less cars before me.

    Just picked this up today and I'm digging it, though it does have a steep learning curve. This is really well done and I'm going to check out the others. Also, the more I see this on pc the more it feels like the console version is closer to a demo than a full game, oh well.

    Thank you for this series. Really helpful.
    On PS4 (controller mainly, but sometimes G29) I've been trying to learn using the McLaren on Monza. Looks like I may need to change to the Lexus and start with Brands Hatch.
    I'm doing 1:56 so even off the AM pace from your video.
    I think I've 2 main issues. Consistency and also not mastered how to take chicanes. Expect for Monza if I can master the chicane I'd be closer to 1:50 than I am now and then getting the consistency means every corner would be just that bit better.

      The Mclaren can be a really quick car but requires a speicific driving style to get the most out of it. See how you get on with the Lexus as you say. The laptime guides are there to use as motivation, so don't worry if you are struggling to beat the AM time, it means you have something to aim for! I wish you the best of luck with it :)

    100% gain may not be optimal. This may result in force feedback clipping esp in the mid corner. You should do a few laps while keeping an eye on the ff in the telemetry HUD. If it's turning red for sustained periods, reduce the gain. This will massively improve the feeling through corners and increase confidence.

    • @mikeroerig2499
      @mikeroerig2499 2 роки тому +13

      @@titansfan1329 A few years ago I experienced a racing sim for about 15 minutes and decided that I would build one when I retired. I'm retired now so I built one. I watched Sim Racing Garage videos on UA-cam and built a sim very similar to his sim. I could afford the good stuff so that's what I bought. I started with a $20,000 budget but went over budget to $26,000. I try to avoid buying low cost stuff then buy the good stuff. That's a double purchase and makes the costs go up needlessly. I know that seems like a lot of money but when people retire a big issue is filling all the free time and I didn't want The Wheel of Fortune to be the highlight of my day.
      My sim is almost all Fanatec, but what impressed me most is the SR2 motion system. It's absolutely quiet and very responsive.
      Is there a use's manual for ACC that I can download? I haven't discovered it yet.
      Recently I added a boom mic and thought that I could talk with other drivers while racing. Somewhere I got the idea that I need Dicscord software to do that so I downloaded it, but I haven't figured out how to use it yet.
      It would be great if I could find someone that lives in south Texas so I could get some pointers or advice. So far that hasn't happened.
      Even though I have a lot to figure out, I'm having fun racing.

      Yes, it's been about a year now since I built my sim. It hasn't changed much. I added another G5 monitor and upgraded to a 4090 GPU. 5 monitors looks cool, and it allows me to have a monitor I can use for something else while I race.
      I ran across a video that suggested picking one track and one car, and then practice without changing so I have been having fun racing a Hurrican on Watkins Glen against 29 AI cars.
      I slowly increase the capabilities of the AI cars to keep it challenging. My progress is slow. A good lap time for me is 1m 51s and occasionally I get 1m 50s with my best being 1m 49s.
      I raced a few time with multiplayer on servers. Everyone was much better than me so I kind of got in a habit of running against the AI cars hoping to improve. Gripping the track is a problem for me.
      Perhaps I should get back on the multiplayer servers so I can learn a bit more. If you're willing to take the time to explain how to use Discord, I'm listening.

    Great tips!! I knew most of them, but I wished I had seen this when I started about back in December.
    Do you have any videos about how to record your races and how to upload them in good quality? What programs to use, etc? I’m new to this channel (thanks to Dave Cam), and that would be extremely helpful for me.
    Very nice edits!!

      Hey Oscar, thanks very much. Hopefully they can help those in the same position now that you were in back in December!
      We haven't made a video on that as it is so hardware dependant. I have an Nvidia 2080ti graphics card which allows me to run the game at a decent quality level and capture my footage using the Nvidia GeForce Experience capture software. If you use an Nvidia GPU/Graphics Card then hit Alt+Z on your keyboard to access this. The main thing will be having your graphics settings low enough to keep your frame rate nice and high when recording.
      In terms of the videos themselves on my end, I use Adobe Premier Pro to edit the footage I've captured with the Nvidia software.
      Welcome to Traxion and it's going to be awesome having Dave Cam onboard, I love his content! All the best :)

    • @TraxionGG
      @TraxionGG  2 роки тому +1

      It really depends on what kind of races you are doing, but you honestly should be fine regardless. Pit limiter is handy, plus the ability to navigate pit menus if you do longer races with mandatory stops. But lights, wipers and engine starts can be set to auto, so you really don’t need too many😊

    Very wrong on the ffb with respect. Those settings are not optimum. Also for pc users must restart after changing gain. Otherwise good vid.

      Thanks! And I appreciate the comment on force feedback, everyone will have a different preference depending on their wheel type and driving style. These settings aren't optimum for everyone, but I've been using them for competitve esports events and have found them to be fine with my wheel. For beginners, it feels like a solid place to start from and then it can adapted to suit personal preference 🙂
